Right chaps and chappess's get your thinking cap's on, have just posted this car in my showroom and asked for comments.

It's very much lacking in the wheel department, it was all I had lying around at the time.

Need some inspiration and ultimately need to buy some new wheels and tyres (Offers/ sudgestions please) Pictures if possible.

Please no really pricey options. Paypal waiting for the right Boots :-)

Fitment on the rear is no issue really but a straight bolt on the scorcher chassis would ideally be the best, but i'm alway's up for a challenge so anything goes.

Appreciate any help in this matter

Regards

Nowt wrong with SR boots in my book  but heres an idea I never got round to so happy to pass it on.

Black proline aftermarket rims SS or RR are solid (no spokes) then you can paint the outer rim any colour leaving centre black but paint in the VW pressed steel 5 bolt pattern onto it hopefully resulting in a very authentic looking stock (but wide) VW wheel.

Like this

Or you could do this LUSSSSHHHH!!!! Just my 2 pence.

Personally I think it's hard to beat standard scorcher / frog / hornet etc. wheels on a beach buggy. (and they're cheap! B) ) But the centers need to be painted black (looks much better).

I have some rear Michelin TRX tyres that would be great on a road legal buggy coming on a set of wheels I just won on eblag that you're welcome to if you want them. (The tyres that is, I need the wheels!)

Or I have three Mickey Thompsons, one front and two rears, that would look good and fit rough rider wheels, but you'd need to find another front and god knows how long that could take.

Continuing on with that idea.......

How's about Proline wheels with the centers from a Revell 1:9 Kubelwagen kit? You get wheels, a very detailed engine AND a Kubelwagen bodyset! Anyone guess what my next project is?

Nice one cherrybomb! I think that tops my idea in a big way. Good luck with the Ford Siera project too!

Is that the Revell 1/9 Kubelwagen?

And where do you get proline wheels from?

military or slammed in the weeds for your kubelwagen?

What about these:

Hop up range MiniZilla 1/18. TopCat alu rims and rubbers (rear axle)

See my showroom:

I currently have asked a model-wheel specialist to make new ones from alumimum to fit to the vintage HPI tyres in the front (you may notice that I had to turn the rubber inside out) and Tamiya 12mm hex internal.

It will be around 60 EUR a pair.

Let me know if you are interested to ask him doing another design. I'm sure he can do it - he plays with CNC mills etc...-

He told me just today it'll take a while to get them done - he is full booked with other stuff.

I do not guarantee for short lead times, but I strongly believe I can guarantee good quality. He normally does 1/5 scale wheels and sells them on his webside. (www.modellbausieghard.de)

Yup, that's the one.

The Proline wheels turn up on the bay every now and then, but you could use standard scorcher or rough rider wheels instead I'm sure.

Oh!, ........and Scorchio, how did you guess about the Siera project ?, I thought I'd been real criptic!
