The standard direct replacement brushless systems are usually; LRP Sphere/Vector combo, Novak GTB, Novak SS, Nosram Matrix/Storm combo, and LRP AI Brushless ESCs. The aircraft brushless can work as a lower power alternative, but the motor tends to be smaller than the 540 can, so a converter plate would have to be made to adapt the motor. Twisty had a setup like this on his Brat. I couldn't advise on the motor/ESC combinations though. They tend to work on Amp ratings rather than turns.

yeah i know, some of them do

but you can set it also on cars. They're fast

the most prof drivers got that motor and speedcontroller to race

but on what car do you want to do it >>???

I think the one i put in the brat is a helicopter (pink walkera 4800kv)one,about a 300 size,Marderbeast made a motor plate and pinion shaft adapter to make it fit for me,i used a baby mamba speedo from castle creations and geared it down as much as i could.Still works a treat and runs on cheap lipo cells.

Mtronics do a smaller one that has normal pinion shaft diameter and stuff is getting cheaper all the time.

Caution is needed with lipo cells.

why waste time mucking about the wrong-sized motors and adaptor plates when you can get a perfectly good MambaMax ESC & Castle Creations motor for about the same $?

Drop-in fit for just about everything - except for those friction-fit situations, as its got 2 screws on the side of motor can. ESC is sensorless but should be able to drive any Novak etc sensored motor as well.

They're not sanctioned for racing but.

Because i did not want to destroy my old brat,i did this mod before the re-re brat was even known about, never mind the mamba max.

It gives a bit more power than a sport tuned 540 and running on the lipo pack i use it runs for over 20 mins.

It was a kind of old meets new project that worked out really nice and still has pride of place on my top shelf,

that is why
