Watched the Topgear special last night of the their expedition to the North Pole. Car (Modded Toyota Hilux) driven by Clarkson and May, with Hammond on a dog sled. Probably staged to a degree, but made great viewing.

Tamiyas next car? Got to be an Arctic spec Hi-lux ;)

Yeah it was quite funny that!

The modded hiluxes were amazing! i think they had a fleet of 3, clarksons one, one with a bed cover and one with a huge trailer.

I too thought it was staged, it looked just too dangerous. Great shots of the trucks offroading though, and the top gear boys are always very funny.

If you go on the Toyota website, you can a full SP on the modifications made and some cool pics as well.

Had to laugh a Jezza when he got that nut stuck to his lips!

Check out www.arctictrucks.com ! These are the guys that made the hilux's

Thought it was very staged in parts but then the scenes of the hilux smashing through the snow madae up for that!

I was quite disappointed when I realised they were going to the Magnetic North instead of the actual north pole, but when I thought about it, the real north pole is completely unrealistic. It would have looked cool though to see an in car GPS displayed 0 degrees latitude!

great episode!!

much better than the silly winter olympics one last yr...

that was my thoughts exactly!! about 2 seconds after the 'reveal' at the start.

I'd like the red 2007 Hilux with the full bed cover made into a 1/10 please... oh ok, on the 3spd F350 chassis if you must.

Would look perfect on a dagger chassis with the big wheels. Thats my hope anyway!
