Caprinut and myself here in Norway are thinking of having a TamiyaClub Norway meet...

It would be a nice way of putting faces to the names, and also to check out the Tamiya community in Norway.[p]

There are no plans for the moment, except that we have checked out the RC track in Skien (Grenland RC klubb) as a nice place to gather.

I forsee a mix of modern and vintage Tamiyas, both runners and display. And ofcourse trading from the car boot :-)

Let me know how you feel about this, and please feel free to suggest when, where and what!

- Lars

PS: hvis alle plottet seg inn p "Tamiyaclub Map" ville det v're enklere holde kontroll p0 hvem som er hvor, hvor mange vi er osv, osv.

Kartet finner dere HER. Naviger til "trdkorset" er der dere bor ot trykk "Set My Location". That's it.!

Hei igjen!

Come on guys, keep it to written English please,it`s an English site and i for one feel excluded from knowing what is going on.

It would not be so bad if altevista had a translation program for Norwegian to English/ect,i could just translate.Plus you are excluding anyone who doesn`t read your language from attending your meeting.

Some English speakers holiday in Norway and they might just be able to come along if they know where and when ect,it is nice to meet like minded people from other countrys.

Posted

Of course, it's excluding. There should be no reason for not writing in english!

But, we could do both :D :

Hva snakker han om?

What's he talking about?

Then you could pick up some strange norwegian language...

At least you would then be a hero in the norwegian Land Rover community, especially if you happens to know Land Rovers too..... (Yes, I,m a Land Rover fan..)

Posted

You mentioned Land Rovers,i am also a Land Rover owner and am on another forum,i thought you had seen my name there.

There is a fellow from Norway visiting England just now, from this other forum,it is a small world you know

Anyway,i hope when you have this meeting in Norway, you will take some pictures of your models and the event and share them with us here on TC ?

Posted

Sure, there must be pictures!

BTW, what a coincidence! May I ask who's visiting? I'm a member of the norwegian LRforum too, as a LR owner...

I remember there was some talk about an english couple visiting Norway with a bobtailed Range Rover - It spread as a fire in dry grass.....

It actually was interest in Tamiya 4WD cross country that caught my interest in a proper 1:1 4WD...Land Rover!

Posted

It must be a different couple, this chap and his wife are driving a P38 Range Rover,he is English and he married a Norwegian lady and moved over there,he has come back to visit relatives in England

his name is Quentin,i only know his wife as SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obayed) :D they have friends in West Yorkshire (where i live)

I am planning a trip ,to drive around Europe and Norway is on my list of places to visit.

Last year i drove to the North of Holland to race model cars, twice. So you never know who might arrive at your gathering

You're most welcome!

Love can be a dangerous thing be involved in...

The only ones I know of outside the forum is not english, but one's been a chairman of the norwegian club, he's now a member of the board. He's crazy about all english stuff on wheels; LR, Morgan, camper. Of course they also visited the place where "Aidensfield" is recorded. (We'd like to too... (my wife)

If you're coming to Norway, be sure to let us know, even visit the LRforum to get tips on where, why and what. They have an english spoken thread too.

Cheers!

Come on guys, keep it to written English please...

Sure, sorry :)

The short version is that we are trying to plan a meeting in Norway. First thought of this fall, but I have proposed to aim on the coming spring instead. The venue is propably an established RC buggy and onroad track, not too far away from Oslo. ...nothing decided yet.

It would be great if others, from around the world (to not exclude anyone :-) would join us!

Dear entusiasts!

We are already planning a retro/vintage class just for fun in 2008 in Norway. Please read this thread for more info:

Visit thread about a retro class in Norway!

We will be running a series of Nats Rounds for 1:10 OR, most likely in april, may, june & september also in 2008. We run 2WD saturdays and 4WD sundays. And most likely in Rady (BG), Kodal, Trondheim & Oslo. The dates & venues will be set in november. You fill find this here: NMF - RC bil

I'm the secretary of the Oslo club, and I can already invite you to our round. I'm sure the other clubs will warmly welcome you as well! (Bergen is having a vintage race/meeting already in november this year!) We will have everything set up for you in Oslo, we have a pit area with roof & lighting for approx. 100 people. There will be around 20 drivers in the 1:10 class both saturday & sunday, so we will have approx. 80 spaces free for vintage stuff. We also have a cafeteria, kiosk, toilets, compressed air, a beach 10 minutes walk away, hotel & camping nearby. The track is 15 minutes drive from the centre of Oslo at a place called Hvervenbukta (Osloungdommens Motorsenter), Ljansbrukveien 33, 1250 Oslo. Everything will be set up with race organization, judge, technical inspection and so on. All you have to do is show up & drive, have fun, trade and so on... Fuel cars & cars with metal chassis will not be allowed to drive on the small buggy track as it damages the carpets. We also have a 250 long & very nice asfalt track, here you can drive any track car you like. Plus we have a large buggy track, but it will be closed during the weekend (to avoid radio interference for the racers).

Please check out our facilities:

Visit Oslo Modelbilklubb

Elbuggybanen p0 Hvervenbukta

Welcome!!! :D (that goes for any nationality)
