Well, I just sold 3 NIB kits from my showroom in an effort to make some room and take a break. Well, I just visited the Junfac site & also Ebay. Now I have the following being shipped:

  • Junfac F350 High Lift Chassis
  • HPI Geolander 2.2 Tires
  • Junfac 2.2 Beadlock Rims

Does it ever end ? We really need to start counselling here on TC. Now, I just need to order a second High Lift . . . . . .

Yeah I'm the same, I went on a massive spending spree when I got my High Lift. you kind of get that horrible guilty feeling when you spend all that hard earned money on things you possibly don't really need when you know fine well you've got things in your life that you need to do that need money spent on them. But all that guilt disappears the moment the postman arrives and you get all your kit. The only problem is once its all built and you have it sitting there you just crave the whole experience all over again. So you're right Chris it is an addiction.

Anyway enough of the guilt trip. The Junfac stuff is lovely. I didn't bother with the chassis, it is lovely but I bought the less expensive Monotuning one which is the same bare metal finish (looks great visible under the F350 body) though I don't think its quite as polished and it doesn't have the nice raised curves to it. I got a set of black Junfac 2.2 beadlocks after seeing Twinsets and also got nice Junfac red rock rings. The wheels seem good quality for the money and I thought the rock rings were plastic so I was surprised to discover they were lovely anodized metal. Great value for money and a lot cheaper than certain US websites I could name. I tried to get Geolander tires but UKModelsport were sold out so I got some ProLine dirt Hawgs instead, they're ok but possibly not as nice looking.

Here's the whole lot together.

Are you saying you buy a 400$ Rc kit to build it then leave it on a shelf? o.O

I've done that heaps of times.

So Backtomyroots, will we be getting the RC Channel axles as well???

Not at all, i'm a runner (as the photo's in my above post prove) But I am someone who once the thing is built has then got to move onto their next project.

And anyway there are plenty of people here who spend more than $400 on a kit only to leave it on their shelf, and there's nothing wrong with that.

YES. All of my builds are for the shelf - if I do run them they are immediatelty sold afterwards as they are then "spoiled". I have only one actual runner & it's a Traxxas Rustler.

Mr Corpse Thrower: No Rc Channels Axles for me - I think they are ugly :D .

Funny thing is I am just completing a High Lift build (just waiting for the body to arrive back to me after a sweet paint job from someone with talent). Now, I've gone and purchased these itmes for a second High Lift to build. Good Grief !

Nice to see it's "normal" to be a tamiya addict :) !

Hm I like the build as much as anybody else but my cars have to run. It wouldnt do them justice to leave them on a shelf. (Except for vintages- If I had a new built sand scorcher it would never move an inch :) )

I'd love a really well painted F350 shelf queen with an interior. Thats the one big problem with the High Lift as a working model - its 'spoiled' very easily. You get the body painted well with the mirrors and exhaust pipes fitted only to have it all wrecked in the first half hour of running. It topples very easily - there goes the mirrors and the lovely paint finish - and I lost one of my exhausts pretty quickly too. Its a shame Tamiya couldn't have given it rubber mirrors that just flex when it falls over instead of breakable plastic, its not the most practical idea Tamiya ever had.

Here's a sneak peek at my body (but it won't have the interior - that'll be my next High Lift). This is a sweet job on this body so it'll be on the shelf :). But I won't be satisfied with just this one High Lift that is why I spontaneously purchased all those goodies for a second, after having just sold off some goodies to make room . . . . . . . . . . .
