Met up with Rad22Rad today to finally put the Tamiyaclub community car together for the first time. 6 or 7 years in the making and we completed it with one day to go! Anyway all the time and effort was certainly worth it - it look fanastic. Its painted Porsche 934 green (though it doesn't soo very green in these pictures) rather than the normal baby blue and Rad has got an great finish on the paint. His attention to detail is amazing.

Yes we could have painted it differently,we could have used different parts or modeled it in other ways - but at the end of the day, radical ideas might have turned out great but we needed something we knew we could deliver that would look amazing. These are not the sort of parts you get 'second chances' with. While we may not have made the most practical of runners, Tamiya is still going to love it and it will easily hold its own in their Showroom in Shizuoka.

Here is just one of the pictures - if you want to see more click here

Once again many thanks to all those people that kidnly donated parts, labour and support to this project. You've done yourself proud.

Wow!!!!... That car is SO fantastic to look at! VERY great idea to cut out those sections of the body.! Pure "Tamiya-style" with the red edges.. Simply stunning work..

Compliments also to the painter of that FANTASTIC finishing of the bodyshell, and what a great choice of colour for it. It could NOT have been finished better by the builders at Tamiya..

Im out of words now. Just have to look at those pictures again... wow....

All the best..

What a completely stunning model - as others have said the cutouts are a work of genius completely in tune with some of the superb boxart cutaways Tamiya have used over the years. When you mentioned the 934 green I wasn't sure, but seeing it in the pictures it looks perfect - I predict that becoming a popular alternative to the boxart baby blue scheme :) .

Look forward to hearing the full report on your return Chris, and seeing the pictures. Hopefully this will be the start of even closer ties with Tamiya, which imho would be great for the club.

Speechless. Absolutely speechless. I too wasn't sure on the green when mentioned, but seeing it in the piccies I think it suits perfectly, it's superb. Cut-outs are, as others have said, genius.

I haven't been around here as much lately but to come back and see this finished, in all her glory, reminds me of just what a fantastic club this is. I'm so proud to be a member. And I expect Mr.Tamiya himself will be proud to have it on display.

You guys done good :)

All those years ago I could have never imagined It would ever look like this!

Rad22rad its only apropriate that this car should have the best SS paint job on TC, you've deffinately succeded there.

To all involved in the build: You have done all who donated proud! Top work and many many thanks.

As said by everyone else WOW! that is beautifully crafted and detailed with just the right amount of bling and extras.

I have only one word for that " Absolutely Amazing" !!

I hope this puts a smile on mr Tamiya's face and maybe nudges him into a re re or something.

Great work everyone.

Just truly amazing :(. Great idea with the cutouts and the red to edge it, very keeping in the classic engineering display models. I am sure they are going to love it! Great job to all those involved ;) Ant

I am speechless. Now that is a model rc car :( . I think all the contributors should get a rerelease scorcher straight form Mr Tamiya himself for that job. The cut outs are one of the best ideas I've seen yet on Tamiya Club ! Well done - I only regret I didn't know about it in time to make a significant contribution myself !
