I just noticed this sentence in the Lazer ZX-5 RTR public relations statement at RC Zone. Nothing major but interesting non the less. You can see the whole text here

Development costs have historically been less expensive for a belt drivetrain, which is why that type of drivetrain is so popular on older cars. Kyosho is one of the only manufacturers that have invested in the technology, and that has the design ability and quality, to produce a superior shaft drive system

It is a nice car and can give the Dark Impact a run for it money but there is a fair amount of Hype in there also. I was thinking about getting this one as the price is pretty good.

Anybody got the RTR yet?

Hmm. Interesting choice of words there. I don't really feel there is much of a difference other than smoothness. Belts have a little stretch in them so they soften acceleration and braking. I wish they would have used hex head screws on the Lazer LX-5 like they did on the Ultima RB5. I don't expect them on the RTR version though.
