I'm quite tempted to get a buggy as I have some woods near by that are in desperate need of some R/C pounding....(could I sound any nerdier? lol)

What in your opinion would be the best bet?

I bought a second hand Rising Storm from WW and shoved a Nosram Brushless system in it,running Orion4800 lipo`s geared it as low as poss and it coped admirably, good strong and cheap 4x4 off road.

Depends what you mean by 'the best', and it depends on what you're after.

If you mean most fun, then I'd say all of them! :(

If you mean best bang for buck Tamiya, then I'd say the Dark Impact/Keen Hawk/Avante Mk II, or the Dyna Storm (you can still pick up the re-re for a good price, but they're getting hard to find now).

If you mean overall best performing Tamiya for the track, then it'd have to be the TRF 501X.

If you mean the best cool factor, then that probably goes to the Avante and Egress.

If you mean best scale off-roader, I'd say the Bruiser, and F-350.

If you mean of any brand... Well... That's a whole new can o' worms.

Now thats a good answer. I would say the DF-03 chassis is the best overall "realistic" priced 4WD buggy for a leafy wooded area especially as the DF-02 is only $20 less. If you dont like ball diffs then go for the simpler but reasonable DF-02 chassis.

The best choice has to be the DF-03 (Dark Impact/Keen Hawk/Avante MkII) as the 4wd and chassis performance is great. Don't bother with a DF-02 Rising Storm as it has no ground clearance, the extra price of a DF-03 is more than matched by the extras included in the kits.
