bsy2010 218 Posted April 11, 2015 Wow... That was quick... from dirty Ebay find to a pretty nice looking Mad Bull in a few hours. Must have been the easiest car I put together - just the electronics are missing Added some Yeah Racing shocks with stock springs up front and dremeled the tub a little to fit my Lipo shorty

ChrisRx718 4470 Posted April 11, 2015 Made full use of my Yuki battery today and blasted a few cars around the garden. The LRP Runner Ai is supposedly a 15T limit ESC but it was thermal-ing on my DT02, running stock gearing and a BZ motor (23T?) So that will have to go. I will likely replace it with one of those dirt-cheap Hobbywing ESCs but I'm worried about 'Punch'. I used one of the cheap Hobbywing ESCs for 1/16 - 1/18 applications in my Turnigy buggy and it is really lethargic on the get-go. I've even adjusted it to the maximum punch setting. Are the brushed ESCs similar in this regard? I already have one but it's in a crawler so it's less of an issue. LRP will find its' way into a more tame road car I think. SteveU30 1011 Posted April 11, 2015 Why not a Quicrun 1060? Edit: just realised that's what you meant!
Axeboy 297 Posted April 11, 2015 Completed an old Brat project I got from Grumpy Pants, quite happy: Firebolt 15t Motor, XT12 ESC and acoms servo Yeah racing shocks New bearings installed Frog tyres front and rear Used a spare poly body from a new Brat I built Some new parts added but not many Tamiya Hopup Universal shafts Wheels are just primer Seems great but I had to bend the front uprights to miss the tyres and broke one, doh! So, on the look out for a new one. Also had to bend the front body mount slightly to fit, but overall seems decent. I'll get the upright sorted and give it a proper test, but a good build. It was also a bit rough at first but the upgraded universals were popping out as I think the shocks were a touch too long.

Yonez 180 Posted April 11, 2015 got the outrunner in How do you make an outrunner work in a car? I've never had one but from my understanding it is the bell that rotates. Would love some closeups of how you mounted that, what parts rotate and where the wires went.
bsy2010 218 Posted April 11, 2015 How do you make an outrunner work in a car? I've never had one but from my understanding it is the bell that rotates. Would love some closeups of how you mounted that, what parts rotate and where the wires went. The outrunners are not very different, just the can and the end bell are rotating together with the shaft. In my case, I made an adaptor from 16mm to the regular 540 bolt pattern and routed the wires through a small hole in the gearbox. More in my showroom soon

It is just starting to sink in, quite a surreal experience! Berman, congratulations on the new addition to the collect...I mean daughter! Hahaha! Collecting RC's is expensive, not sure I could afford to collect kids lol. And I am sure their maintenance is a bit more than clean, grease and a new set of bearings Congratulations my friend! Yeah I was always on the fence about kids, we have a lot of children already in our families so we kind of weren't too worried, but the missus got clucky and we decided to give it a go, there is nothing like having one of your own I just melt every time I look at her... Thank you for the congrats, and I wish your family all the best aswell mate
Grumpy pants 4485 Posted April 11, 2015 I went and saw my father in law and he wants to sell off his remaining R.C kit. So I've bought some home to look at over the weekend. Handsets, rec, servos, motors and the like in the 1st batch.

Mine are 15, 12 and 6 now and they've caused me a few sleepless nights but they're so worth it - I still melt when I see them!
