So I ordered some brat wheels, can I put paddles front and rear on these rims

Not if your thinking of the Scorcher sand tyre, the rim's for those are the smaller 3 piece ie: hornet/frog/scorcher .

Well I took this apart months ago when I saw it had a cracked frame and wrote it off as a scrap boxb7da2270c1f1134ecb95c5565aba1a34.jpg61b718a96f32b0f592df299907b3eb48.jpg

Then I decided it's a vintage Subaru brat 58038. First 100 it deserves resurrection so, so far we have this 4643acd174c19a408c07367b09ad64c5.jpg858d623a3bdd9102b9f04b3daf31c6cc.jpg6945000fb5fe006a74f0edc0cca71bf3.jpg

I'll switch out wheels and get the other bits over time but it's coming back to life. Perhaps just to sell, but it is coming back to life

seeing this, makes me WANT to restore Tamiya, good job if you think to sell (and not to expensive lol) let me know!

13 miles and about 2000ft of ascent over the southern part of the Mountain Ultra course, took in some stunning views. Found a couple of good trails through the plantation at St John's, noted for future reference!

Found enough spare parts to build a Mad Bull but I have a set of Mad Fighter wheels so it might end up as a hybrid.

Think I will refresh the shell and lob it on eBay, to many models at the moment.

I ugh dropped the hammer on a re re brat, I hear it come with a hard shell and a poly shell so I'll swallow the $116 delivered and perhaps built it and sell it my original is coming together nice. And I have ordered wheels, have any of you guys fitted alternative tires to brat wheels.... I'm still wondering what the logic is but it's still under the twenty model mark.

Today, I renewed my TamiyaClub subscription, and added my new radio's SR410 receiver to my Striker. My original DX3C will be arriving tomorrow, though, so it may go out again - good thing I left the original receiver in there, too!

My birthday is tomorrow! Perhaps that is why I got motivated to check out a re-release Lancia 037...

Tinkered with this guy for a bit and then I remembered I had a gas can filler so I put it on 9e8719a2fb38157716c13ce7071a85f5.jpga77219e02eb633ee0d0a5ec302db3f4d.jpgthen I messed around with the vintage Brat chassis, had unfortunately forgot to replace the vintage servo trays the new chassis came with a re re cross bar that just won't do and th hen I removed the nerf bars as I'm not keen on the look....

Made some more vinyl stickers with my new cutter. Fantastic bit of kit and amazing how small it can cut!

Recaro, Arai and Sabelt logos to brighten up the generic unbranded harness and helmet stickers you get with the cockpit sets:

cockpit-decals.jpg

Michelin and OZ logos for my Escort WRC wheels. OZ ones are Just a test, I'll redo when I have red vinyl. Michelin font not quite wide enough either:

Toyota tailgate lettering for my Mountain Rider:

Finally painted my original monster beetle body. It has taken ages to get round to do it due to a new 1:1 car that needed some attention and a wee health scare a few weeks ago (all ok now).

Went in to my parents loft today to get my kids twin pram out for my sister in law. Then couldn't find the wheels, argh wife is going to kill me. Then checked my loft as well and still no joy so I return to my parents and proceeded to tear theirs apart and not only found prams wheels but more importantly these gems.

Sod's law though, a few hours earlier I had ordered a set of spikes from time tunnel for the basher beetle I am restoring for my son.

Ying and yang and all that.

Took a couple of pics of the Bruiser today before I do some more work on it just in case I consequently mess it up (stripping the shell down for a wet sand and re-coat of clear).

I've been painting bodies to stockpile ready for winter. Two more done today:

m3-gt2-and-gtr.jpg

m3-gt2-and-gtr-inside.jpg

Not been happy with the translucency of some of the lighter colours I've done so decided to try painting the inside black. Worked really well, totally opaque even in front of a strong spot lamp.

I now have 16 bodies in various states awaiting chassis builds:

painted-bodies-13-sept-15.jpg

12 here, the rest not pictured because I forgot about them until I'd uploaded the pic
