It will be the "dress uniform" for my TB-03.

Masking and paint tomorrow if the weather holds!

did 3 coats on the sand scorcher body that is intended for my spare hornet chassis (once I work out how to mount the body). 44754587_992740260908410_592681602534866944_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&_nc_ht=scontent-syd2-1.xx&oh=f3d60f6a8e554cfe2ee35744857a3570&oe=5C809D21

I also did a matt black job on the hornet shell, vintage chassis but body was rough as guts.

and I bought a few paint pots at lunchtime today so I can start painting the detail on Scorcher, including Sand Scorcher Steve and his steering wheel. So once body done, still need to come up with best solution for mounting on the hornet chassis.

That is great bang for your buck there B)

Looks similar to the Metallic Plasma Edge 2.

Yeah, great little buggies for light bashing. It's resting now at the in-laws holiday home, till either I return or the nephew/nieces find it. I'll have to look up how to lock/slow the diff on it, as it was great fun in the gravel back yard, but did get stuck a few times.

I was wondering about those metallic plasma edges, I'll be very tempted by one of those I think should an offer come around.

Found a break in the rain to that Hopup and Homebrew out to a nearby wooded area for some back-to-back tyre comparisons.  Updates in the project thread later.

Masked and painted the Arta Garaiya shell that came with my TB-03:

2018-10-26_03-45-21

At first I was very unimpressed with the coverage of the bright red paint, which seemed pretty translucent even after using up the whole can. However once it was backed with white it looked a lot better, and when that was in turn backed with silver it looked pretty darn good if I may say so myself.

One of the tricky parts of doing a multipart body shell like this one is to get the colour saturation on the different parts to match. To this end I was very careful to make the same number of passes with the spray can on both the main shell and the tail section, to make sure that they were as close as possible. I think it turned out alright.

Did a carbon fiber rear body post stiffener. Also improved the temporary rear shock tower while waiting for the 3mm board I ordered to replace it.

Smart. If you can't buy it, make it ;)

After what seemed like a life time of prepping, deciding, cutting out window masking and applying some additional masking, it was a relief to eventually let some Spaz Stix Black out the can.

Found my old Nitro racer, a Mugen Seike Prime 12 chassis I believe.

I'm not going to run nitro again, so perhaps this is a nice base for a brushless conversion! :)

Today my DF02 got new CVA dampers and a YR Racing red alu prop shaft. Now waiting for the 4370 brushless combo, 3s battery and TX/RX

2ive0kw.jpg

also my best driving buddy got his new Tamiya Touring Car in the mail, immediately went for a drive, he bought a TB04, we were quite amazed, I didnt knew the tb04 has oil diffa. His car was equipped with a Reedy Conquest 19T, 1060 esc and 2 s lipo, with standard 25T and 66T gearing.

my TA05 IFS has a bit worn out belts, top speed was lower then last time.  I did a 53kph while his on brushed did 42kph. Still amazing how those two handle.

Put some decals on the Arta Garaiya shell:

I'd say it's about two thirds done.

Nice. @novicelad converted his TXT Nitro Truck to brushless with great success.

Starting to ponder converting my 1/8 buggy to, as the local nitro supplier has shut and is a 240km round trip to the next nearest one.

did a halloween comp entry, a 3D printed monster body onto a Lunchbox chassis. I had to modify it a bit to get it to fit the chassis properly.

monster-truck-1.jpg

I also managed to get some time to work on my Escort Mark 2 project. I want to make a metal chassis and add some detail. So have sorted out most of the base now, added some aluminium mounting blocks for the TA02 front and rear gear boxes. Also made up a custom dash and fitted a micro servo to drive the steering well.  I'll also do a aluminium roll cage as that will give the middle some extra strength and stop some flexing.

Here you can see the servo under the dash and I've started making the firewall.

TA02-Ford-Escort-Mk-2-1600-13.jpg

Still need to add in the rear wheel arches and strengthening bars to stiffen the chassis and mount the roll cage too.

I found some 4 cycle engine parts on thingiverse, so my idea is to use bits to cover up the TA02 gear box. It's a pity the shock towers are so far in, but that will have to do for now.

What are the wheels you have on the Escort?

I'm looking for some similar to those butvM chassis size.
