Sent the Wild One out to its new TC owner and sent my long suffering Sand Scorcher to another TC member for a refurbishment 👍

did a halloween comp entry, a 3D printed monster body onto a Lunchbox chassis. I had to modify it a bit to get it to fit the chassis properly.

I also managed to get some time to work on my Escort Mark 2 project. I want to make a metal chassis and add some detail. So have sorted out most of the base now, added some aluminium mounting blocks for the TA02 front and rear gear boxes. Also made up a custom dash and fitted a micro servo to drive the steering well.  I'll also do a aluminium roll cage as that will give the middle some extra strength and stop some flexing.

Here you can see the servo under the dash and I've started making the firewall.

Still need to add in the rear wheel arches and strengthening bars to stiffen the chassis and mount the roll cage too.

I found some 4 cycle engine parts on thingiverse, so my idea is to use bits to cover up the TA02 gear box. It's a pity the shock towers are so far in, but that will have to do for now.

What body is that ? Did you 3D print one? . Looks alright , fun project . Can you make carbon fibre shock tower , that come's

off the one you have , but it moves the shocks under where it should ??? . Are you going to run it .

Finally! After 2 years have past since I built the chassis, I finally got around to painting the body for my Rally Jimny. Excited to run this and shoot a video when the snow melts. It's just too pretty right now to get dirty lol.

Its an Escort RS2000 Mk 2 I found on Thingiverse that I 3D printed, link here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2914461

Sorry, I thought I'd shown you before. I've only printed in PLA and have done 2 bodies, both in PLA. This one was the first one I did, but it had warped in a couple of places, so it will end up being a basher/test body, but I can't imagine it will last too long. I'll also do one in ABS but since the panels aren't smooth the second body I am building up to make a rotomold from and recast. A prop maker friend of mine as a roto-molder, so really I just have to finish off the body and then I can remake as needed. I'm hoping I can do this by christmas (this year!) and I'll be able to send you a copy, plus I might send your two other bodies back.

Shock idea is good, I should give that a go.

The second body, I'd like to custom make all the running gear too instead of using TA02 parts, but that is secondary to getting copies of bodies done. Doors, boot and bonnet will be permanently fixed onto the first version once I work out the interior worked out.

TA02-Ford-Escort-Mk-2-1600-16.jpg

I've also got 3D models for the Cortina and Mk 1 Escort, although they are going to require a little bit more work to get to the same stage, but will give a better body than the vac forming. Vac forming is still on the cards, but I have space problems and issues with getting that last bit of detail from those cast moulds. I'm thinking I might be better off making my own bucks from 3D to vac form from, but would be a long way down the track.

Bought a 2nd hand Rising Fighter.

While repairing my DT03 fighter, I realised that while it is a nice car for the occasional runs on the street, I was missing the 'connection' (for lack of a better word) with the car.

What I really wanted was a grasshopper, with a 540 motor, and semi-independant rear suspension.... Possibility for hop-ups.....

So when I saw the ad for the Rising Fighter, that was an instant eye-opener. :D

It needs electronics and new tires. Maybe ball bearings? Plan is to strip all that from the DT03 and possibly sell the DT03 leftovers for parts.

Was the Striker a red/white stripey one off EBay?

nah, worse, a pink and blue one in NZ Trademe. The wheels are pink too! I think a strip of both the body and wheels will be in order, it looks awful, but it only cost £45.

Another Kiwi on here?

Did some fibreglassing, the weather (temperature) was marginal but it seems to have worked ok. Although when you have no idea what you're doing who knows whats right!

Will update the build thread soon with pics

Like the blue chassis and parts, is it a TT02?

Yes.  I upgraded the chassis and bits to the blue tub and spues back when I build it maybe a year or so ago...  I have the entire build on YouTube with part numbers if you'd like to see.

Thanks mate.

This one is a  934 40th Anniversary Jagermister Porsche on a TA02SW chassis. The original wheelbase is 236mm I believe, but as people have discovered that’s a little to long for the wheels to appear central in the arches as documented here..

https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=129718

Tamiya might of changed something in these kits to the one in article above, the lower front shock screws in mine were already 18mm not the 15mm.

I have shortened my wheelbase by 3mm at the back and drilled the body shell holes as per the dimples, because I’d not read the last comment properly  from @kevinb120 even though he took the time to meantion here to,

https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/87218-re-re-porsche-934-jagermeister/&tab=comments#comment-720228

about just shortening the front 🙄. Anyway I’m happy with it now.

The 911 body that you usually see in Silver sits on a TT02 chassis so must be moulded a bit longer for that chassis??

The 2 body shells also differ slightly under the front bumper.

Hope that all makes some kind of sense. I’m mid night shift at the mo so what I write and what I think I’ve written are usually completely different 🙃

Looking forward to seeing your next Super Car addition 👍🏻

Now I just need to give all tha parts a good wash, find some replacment parts, and get it up and running again.

Visited Modelsport for the first time on my way back from a trip. Nice place. Cool displays, but not quite as big a shop as I was expecting. Clearly major on mail order. Helpful staff though and grabbed a hobby wing ESC. Ran the Thunder Dragon and Ultra G when I got home which was great. Managed to get some Schumacher big bore springs onto the rear CVAs on Ultra G using some Traxxas shock spares. Works a treat as it needed some stuffer springs.

I’ve just gathered together my black Lunchbox to photograph and put up for sale and it has an ESC and bearings which is good news.

Also realised I’ve made a school boy error and I’ve bought WW2 wheels for my other LB and the fittings are different 👎

What a prat!

Orderd a Nissan Titan 1/12 Body for my DF02 together with body mounts and springs for my df02 as the springs supplied with CVA damper were for 2wd (light front/heavy rear)

also a 64P 40T pinion and 64P 80T spur for my TA05 IFS, new belts and center pulley.

rcon 190R body for my F104GT mini

and a 6$ 60W spare soldering iron with adjustable temp. Tried it already at my firends garage, perfect for hobby grade.
