I finally got around to installing my LED light kit in the Bronco.  I wasn't really sure what the best method is and didn't feel like researching what everyone else does.  I just dived in and went with what seemed correct.

Trimmed a rally interior (a lot!) to squeeze into the rally beetle

49045273713_4ab968056f_b.jpg

Sprayed the interior with PS6, it’s a bit too shiiiny black though. Thinking next I’ll brush on acrylic paint instead.

It's a MST CFX (not -w) with few customizations at low price

@berman That looks like a fun afternoon. I can highly recommend the comicals for kids and grass running. Mine is pretty much stock apart from the obvious bearings and hard coat pinion. I popped one of the ebay special black and gold 21t brushed motor and a 1060 esc in it. Even on lipo and full throttle it's fine for kids, and fast enough that last time i lent it to my nieces and nephews they ended up having running races against it! Plus the kids love the look of it.

Thanks TDCY! Yeah I think they will stay stock (apart from bearings and pinion) and maybe even a lower turn motor.

Just had the dump truck out again, and realised that a front dogbone and drive cup are missing. They don't usually come out unless a step screw comes out of the top arm, so don't know where those have gone to, must've gotten flung out last weekend at the park. 😕

The stampede is fixed though.

Good shout. The Beetle Rally body shell instructions say to use flat clear on the hood.

these pics have provided the inspiration:

Mine won’t be a direct copy but that’s the general idea, hopefully more Baja than the box art.

The Rally beetle is my Christmas plan. I have a set of Herbie stickers to use up. Was thinking about an interior, do you have the part number/link?

Front and rear end of my top force done. High speed spur in the rear and centre one way in the front. Next the Hi Caps, should I use the soft oil in the high cap set or I've seen 40wt mentioned on this forum? I will hopefully be getting the carbon chassis sometime soon.

Think I have solved the problem with the rear links on my crawler.

Next job is to see whether the front end encounters similar issues.

Need to document my progress with some photos.

Got up to step 17 of my Zahhak build, should be running tomorrow. Bit different building a 'modern' Tamiya.

I've gone for the slipper clutch, will probably go for TRF big bore shocks, any other upgrades I should do?

Finished my Lunchbox build - TS47 paint for a slightly darker (more orange) colour, and definitely not a shelf queen! Traxxas "Ultra" shocks, 2S LiPo, front shock tower brace. 5th shock mod the first time those springs fail... but I'll run it for a bit first.

you are correct! scratches don't fuss me - if I wanted scratch free models I wouldn't buy RCs!

I am going to look out for old beat up bodies though - I've got a few ideas of alternate designs ;-)

I like that Chrome Yellow!  My Midnight Pumpkin's 2nd body (lunchie) isn't painted yet.  Please don't mind if mine turns up with TS47!

Are those Traxxas shocks, @lsear2905?
