I could be tempted by a set that extend it to 225 - there's a wider range of bodies available then. Good luck with the printing! Ok, these should turn up this week, so if it fits ok I'll model up a 225 version for you

lsear2905 1279 Posted March 30, 2020 I ran my Konghead and Dump Truck at my little track, for one last little hurrah before 'Stage 3' lockdown. Thanks to some great members on here - @mtbkym01 & @berman - I have new bumpers for both cars, so of course last night the bumper mount started to snap on the Dump Truck! (part F 3 for those playing along at home). I have reinforced it with all the hot glue gun glue I possibly can so I'll see how that holds up (when I'm eventually allowed to). I did take the bumper off as soon as I noticed what was happening, and the car does drive around my track a *lot* better without a bumper, as the bumper tends to dig in on uneven sections. I'm really confused by our 'lockdown' requirements - I walk to the high school, do not go near anyone else, then walk home. I would argue that is very clearly 'exercise,' which is allowed. Either way, with the threat of a AUD$1,600 fine hanging over my head I can't imagine I'd be relaxed or enjoy myself... so just some tinkering at home and making a start on a very long (self-imposed) to-do list!
Saito2 6686 Posted March 31, 2020 Painted three bodies today. The Grasshopper came out horrible. The Bigwig came out so-so with a little paint bleed through on the two-tone, but its a runner, so I'll deal with it. The Super Sabre came out perfect and finally completes my early 4wd buggy set. Did I mention I hate painting bodies? Still, it kept my mind off having to return to work next week and the risk of Coronavirus that enviably entails, so I'm grateful for the distraction. Stay safe out there.
TurnipJF 9192 Posted March 31, 2020 Just finished fitting a TBLE-02 and 13.5t Bluebottle to my TT-01 rally car, freeing up a LRP Runner Plus Reverse ESC for possible future deployment in a TA-03 build, and a LRP "TC Special 2" brushed motor that will soon appear in the TA-02 rally car that I am building currently. I also took the opportunity to fit a GPM ballraced alloy steering rack that I ordered in error for my DF-02, swapping the supplied metal shielded bearings for rubber sealed ones in the process.

yogi-bear 2321 Posted March 31, 2020 last few days: finished printing a Mark 2 Escort Body. Next for this is spray putty to smooth it out and then paint. The bonnet and boot I will try and make from 0.6 mm aluminium sheet. Windows from 0.375 mm lexan sheet. plus I made a roll cage for it out of straws. This is my second attempt and I'll probably have another go or two. I also printed a Lotus Cortina body. I will have a go at vac forming from this once its prepared. And as the proportions are more true to scale, I'll have to custom make the chassis. I also finally got the spray booth to work so no fumes inside. It was important - happy wife, happy life! and got to try it out with my new Tamiya paint stand. Now to do some detailing, and I'll have to find a driver figure, I should have something lying around. 12
Supercoolnothing 721 Posted March 31, 2020 Not just today but over the last few days I've been putting down a few coats of silver onto the body of my clodbuster. The plan is to build it into a semi-accurate replica of the 80's era monster truck Michigan Ice Monster. Once I get a few coats of clear onto it and pick out all the panel lines etc it should look pretty good.
Badcrumble 4203 Posted March 31, 2020 This virus thing might be around for a while so so I went into work and ‘borrowed’ my chair - if I am WFH longer term, I need protect my back!! While I was there, I picked up my pack of damper oils in case I ever get a chance to do anything Tamiya related. Left my M05RA and trail truck there - might rescue them if I have to go back in again. I had to pop into work to get my chair yesterday! Unfortunately, it wasn't because of any back issues, more weight issues - as the chair in the spare room I had been using decided to leak, leaving my eyes level with the desk..... Apparently, according to Mrs. Jon, she couldn't decide if I looked more like Grumpy or Dopey.
TurnipJF 9192 Posted March 31, 2020 My TL-01LA has finally gained a motor befitting of its stature in the form of a turn-of-the-millennium vintage Reedy MVP. No more boring grey Johnson!
Finnsllc 917 Posted March 31, 2020 So i spent a couple of evening over the last week doing the basic builds of the cars i ordered. All went pretty well so far as i can tell with the exception of 3 screws on the TOP FORCE that i need to take out and prob tap. The NEO was a fun build and fairly easy, I was surprised that the SAND VIPER kit seemed so basic as far as the instructions. Example being it doesnt call for grease where i usually grease. The M06 RA was interesting, Ive never done a M kit. I am going to be looking for some input as far as electronics and such for The parts i need to get Them running as well as I want a multi car controller. As I am a 80s kid i still use the Futaba Attack. Time to upgrade. Input always welcome through dM or on the thread.

Here's one but it's a lexan body. The hardbody ABS while harder to work on will look much better.
Hobgoblin 1059 Posted March 31, 2020 Work melted my brain a bit today so I relaxed by churning out some parts for my hobby world A07/Chidori/Korean Mystery Meat Buggy. The front hubs and knuckles were awful, horrible plastic filled with shonky bushings. I just drew up some TA02 parts and fitted them, this will also let me have a better choice of what wheels I can run. Works quite nicely! However the front track is much wider than the rear, I'll have to get creative with wheel offsets (custom prints?) Or try and use some of the wideners they have for crawlers. Lovely and stable though! Don't know what sort of body would suit this yet as there's practically no chance of tracking down an original.

I've also been trying to figure out if my Onyx NiMH is toast or it's the charger... unfortunately, I only have the clone IMAX by at my disposal... And lastly, just been doing some online lurking on ebay and aliexpress trying to convince myself to buy a 1060esc and possibly a lipo... Now to this color scheme... not sure what my son was thinking when he told me this is how he wants it... I guess I dont have much choice since I'm trying to lure him in so I can convince her mom to let me buy him his own kit and start building with me.... hehe...
Bromley 681 Posted April 1, 2020 Not Tamiya...but my FTX Outlaw has seen some work. I painted the driver insert, made new body panels from plasticard, fuel cell from aluminium sheet, extinguishers from various leftovers, light bar and the grill are made of aluminium angle. Still needs some more stickers and the light bars not finished yet... Very happy with how it goes now. I fitted a 3500kv combo and got 29mph on 2s with a 17t pinion. It's a really fun basher with some scale looks. Also in progress is my Hornet restoration, just waiting on parts for that.

The hardbody ABS while harder to work on will look much better. Thanks for the pics, I bought that decal sheet when I ordered my Clod a couple of months ago. I'd actually went onto MCI racings site to order original clod decals ended up in the Monster Truck section, saw them thought "those look cool" (no pun intended) googled the original truck saw it was a square body chevy c10 fleetside same as the clod shell albeit with a couple of minor differences that I'm not going to bother changing because no-one will ever notice and went for it. Today I decided to strip the horrible nasty cheap looking chrome from the plated parts and respray them with alclad lacquers because I prefer the finish and in my opinion it looks a lot better. I then glued the blower together, filled all gaps with tamiya putty and smoothed it off. This way the bug catcher will look like it's a one piece unit and will look much more realistic when painted.
