Fun today assembling this KONGHEAD 6X6 & here’s my mandatory open gearbox/chassis photo, TL-01B long arm business and the best bit; RC-Square fast(er) gears

What motor are you putting in yours? I run bearings, 2S and a 12T Traxxas brushed motor in mine, and I've found that gives me plenty of speed. I can't remember what pinion I run though...

Haven't flown my helis for a while.

So I update my software, PheonixRC from 5.0 to 5.5 to 6.0i. Added new models too. Hooked it up on the TV and we enjoyed.

today I was just messing around filling, sanding, and generally doing some light prep work to 3 or 4 bodies I want to paint when it warms up.

but much more importantly than that, most of this week I've reached out to some old friends I've made all over the world thank to our hobby, and just checked in, or said hi, or had a quick chat.
And it's been brilliant.   thanks if you replied, even if just to say hey.  and if anyone want to have a chat, fire me off a message.

 thanks

Stu

Something I've been meaning to do for a while now - I started building a photo-booth/garage for the corner of my work desk today...

i-wwMCGcR-XL.jpg

photo. Marking the base - the idea was to have a circular cut out in the middle, to fit the 16" turntable I'd bought from ebay.

i-8VRq9Xr-XL.jpg

photo. essentially a 24" square open sided box, but with the front curved to give me a little more workspace. It's tempting to start detailing the walls with a roller-shutter door and and some high skylight windows perhaps?

i-nb2n33w-XL.jpg

photo. leaving it plain would work well as a photo-booth though - the turntable allows me to spin a vehicle through 360° to produce consistency as required. I might well mount a dedicated lighting bar (with a defuser) diagonally and directly above the turntable.

i-LVNq6Mc-XL.jpg

photo. I knew it - walk away for half an hour and Louis, Lucas and Hopper have filled the space with their junk!

I trust you are all keeping well in these strange times!

I got a GOOLRC BL3650 (3900kv) & 60A ESC combo (claims waterproof) on 23rd December that I’ll try, £25 - crazy price!.

Might swap to a 10.5T sensored with a Hobbywing 120A if I feel the need to step up to 3S.

And the rc-square pinions are 06M 23 or 25T to match their gears, going to start off with the 23T & see how I get on. Standard kit pinion is 18 with 20T hop up option.

I made a falcon bumper. It absolutely cannot take any impacts but it looks quite cool I think.

Finished putting the electronics in my M-07R, mounted the body, and played around on the patio. Lot of fun to drive, much tighter turning circle than the TT-01/2

I finally got around to finishing the restoration of my Clay Regazzoni Williams FW-07 (on the right) to go with its team mate Allan Jones from the 1979-80 F1 seasons. The car on the left is original from when it was built in the early 80s and just needs a mirror.

I have the full team of Lotus 79s to do next....

I am running a castle 3800kv sct motor in my konghead with a 23 tooth pinion on 3s and it is fast.

Finally finished my Tamico edition Vaillant Porsche 934.

Custom carbon chassis plates to shorten wheelbase, custom brass tube driveshaft. Its got an interior with driver and roll cage and additional decals supplied by TruckNorris which were superb.

Took abour 7 hours to cut out and fit all the decals with 20 minutes for lunch. Lots of sweaty palms today.

Stadium thunder is now finished, electrics installed, rx bountd to tx and model name in the transmitter 😎

20200418-194629.jpg

Stadium thunder but with blitzer beetle gearbox and front end parts, and the following schumacher parts, procat front shocks, pro vari shock rear shocks, turnbuckles and ball joints, procat steering, vee 2 rear tyres, narrowed stagger rib front tyres, home made front stabilizer, home made servo mount, unknown vintage servo (its a futaba of some kind and it seems quick), 1060 esc, 18x2 trinity motor, 11t pinion (fitted using the wrong mounting holes 😂). Cant find a way to get a 12t pinion in it so if 11, 13 and 15 dont work ill make a motor mount of some kind.

Cant wait to try it!

Thank you - cant remember who did it first but someone on here mentioned about painting the inner rim with silver after the spraying gold paint on the mesh. Really does improve them.
