First proper attempt at soldering, didn’t do too bad. 🤯

Thanks! Yes, I am using black and white styrene offcuts left over from other projects. I am still not quite sure what I am building. Having added the parts below the waistline in a mine-resistant V-shape as on my APC, I am now thinking it may be a military vehicle of sorts?

Buffel%20004-L.jpg

Or maybe one which has been converted from military spec to some sort of civilian pursuit? Maybe an extreme offroad camper or mobile lab?

Maybe a fire-fighting or rescue vehicle of some sort?

The loadbed is just crying out for something interesting...

Those are the kind of images that inspired my Dynamog build. I'm just about resisting getting another G6-01 chassis to play with. You may have tipped me over the edge, need to find the cheapest available. Some kind of Hiab would look good on it along with some junk?

Re-decaled the stadium thunder body. Unfortunately there are several uneven areas on the body where box art stickers are supposed to go and they peeled pretty quickly after running and getting the body a bit dirty. Used some scrap decals I had laying around and applied in flatter areas that hopefully won’t peel! Not box art anymore but I think looks pretty good.

I will need to work today, but my wife has asked me not to work over the weekend and to just rest, be and potter which is great.

A bit of gardening, few small jobs around the house and some Tamiya will keep me active and stimulated.

BBQ, movie, bit of family time will seal the weekend nicely 👍

Only had a few finishing touches to do to the cockpit, stickers supplied with the integrale kit make all the difference.  Can finally get going on my Blackfoot project

Painting!

Although I ran out of clear gloss for the body accessory parts, mid-way through <_<

So I'm just off to Halfords as my Local Hobby Shop is still shut. Essential journey, this is!

I woke up stupidly early, so I thought hmmm Tamiya time 😉

Listed 4 more lots of spares on eBay and accepted 2 offers, leaving 6 left for sale.

So I’ll pack these today to send out tomorrow.

Fitted radio gear to the Konghead to see if she runs and she certainly does 💥

Tested my last 2 radio sets and they both work as well-delighted 😁, I thought one set had a blown R/X but this is not the case 👍

Since I’m on a roll I might even see if the Honda City Turbo runs before I peak 😂 or have to cut the grass 🙈

Took my Javelin to a  nearby baseball diamond for some bashing/shakedown, got it dirty. Seemed to drive ok, tracked straight, held corners well at speed, steering was pretty neutral but could be made to get tail happy when I wanted to. Not overly fast, which surprised me.

I've never really driven a hobby grade car, so there was still a bit of a learning curve.

For almost as long as there has been a rural postal service, there has been a need for vehicles that can deliver mail to hard-to-reach places.

There is this one, which I gather was used for postal deliveries in Montana:

Another American example:

Our own Royal Mail also needs to make off-road deliveries:

Even Postman Pat has had to venture off road at times:

So I have decided that my odd-looking G6-01 shell is going to be a mail truck - a decision made somewhat easier since I already have some nice red paint. Now to source some Royal Mail stickers for it!

A prized off-road transmission is the VW Syncro from a German postal van, as these had an extra-low "G" (for Gelande) gear.

Patience pays. Nice details on that plate especially on those small screws and nuts.

So I made a lockdown trail video in my small garden (which I filled it up with old used/broken marble floors and some rocks too) today. Hope you guys like it.

Where did you get the checkerplate bud? And did it come with the fasteners?

I've got a Landy body on order so I'm already buying parts for it!

Hi. Ordered from AliExpress. All fasteners and some double sided tape. Everything fits perfect and only £7.13.  Just waiting for a rear cover for above rear door.
