Removed the wheelie bar and added some cable ties to the rear body posts forcing the body forward now sitting over the wheels nicely, quick nice stable runs on the local football pitch.

I got my first professional haircut since the pandemic hit,  sold one mower, contacted someone to give away 2 parts mowers , gained another mower.

Oh and my alloy body mounts for my pumpkin arrived and I installed them.

Oh wow! The TB04R is still on my wishlist. Please show us more build pics. 😉

My pleasure sir.

I started a detailed and very photographic build thread today of the TB04R, it's not complete yet (because I'm mid-build), but at least those interested can follow along. It's pending approval at the moment so it should get published soon.

Also (obviously) I progressed some more on the TB04R lol.

I genuinely like the GF-01. I really wish they made. 4wd “Lunchbox 2 “or Pumpkin body  on the chassis.   Or, better yet a GF-01 “chassis kit “ ( they can either still offer it with an ESC and Silver can or just a chassis )

Pardon me asking, but where did you find one? Once I got started in the hobby this was the first car I wanted, but never had. It would be nice to have one some day down the road!

👍 Good choice, even when you bought accidently. I love mine.

That’s funny because I’m looking at lots of youtube videos of G6-01s 😂, keeping it within the family of parts appeals to me greatly!

Grabbed a few minutes of RC time over lunch, the first in a while.

I have been planning to make some longer body mounts so stripped one off together with one of the dampers I wanted to use so I could do some measurements.

Brought chassis in, got the ruler out and thought, hang on, this isn't right...

61469A4D-21E6-4AA0-8FE7-BDAD4D79B05B.jpg

Not easy to see from the photo but at full damper extension the driveshaft hits the transmission. This is after I thought I had the damper position and ride height sorted for the tyres I was planning to use.

So the dampers need moving (again!) And the rear mount putting back on (again!) so I can review using the mount with the current dampers (again!) and decide what to do about my wheel / tyre combination after the increase in body to axle depth.

<sigh>

I finished day 3 of the TB04R build, go check it out in the builds thread if you're interested. Here's a sneak peak (many more pics in the build thread of course):

Not today, but yesterday and the day before. The Hornet finally got some proper waterfront running time!

I guess I was the most excited (and definitely the oldest, lol) kid on the beach. I drove while my wife took videos and pics, people around weren't annoyed at all and actually enjoyed the situation or, even better, just didn't care and let it be. An older fella came over to tell me he used to have one as a kid, and walked away all stoked as he didn't know about the re-re thing (I'm sure by now he bought one).

First time on the sand with a proper RC for me, well that was FUN!

Straight out of the water!:lol:20200901-123110.jpg

The usual animal friend was made. At first the seagull couldn't decide if the Hornet was going to be food, a competitor for food, or just some exotic extravaganzas. Eventually, he decided for the latter.Screenshot-20200901-021740-Gallery.jpg

He even brought some food offerings to break the ice 😂👍Screenshot-20200901-021915-Gallery.jpg

Seeing the Hornet on the beach feels as natural as seeing a boat in the water. The sand is definitely its perfect habitat.

Staying over a the in-laws, so took advantage of their asphalt driveway to try out some drifting with the TT02S-D.

Good fun, started to get the hang of it, but much more to practice.

Thanks :)

One coat PS59 Dark Blue, couple of coats of PS16, backed with a light coat of PS12 silver then black PS5. I wanted a darker blue than PS16, but I didn’t have that much PS59 left. I wasn’t sure what I’d get if I went PS16 then black.

I’ve just done another body without the PS59 first layer, have to see if I can tell the difference :D

Ha, that body looks a little bit ‘challenging’. Have you been able to clean it up any more?

Now it's just behind my DJs booth and I don't have to go all the way up to the attic. Because the attic is my work area for turntables and model builds/painting.

Wanted to do some clean-up so I thought about selling a lunchbox-wheeled Grasshopper II that has been sitting here as a project for a rainy day.

Took foto's to sell it on a local website.

Ended up ordering bearings and a ESC/motor instead... ^_^

That looks very cool, nice one!

Is that stock arms, or widened ones?
