Grumpy pants 4485 Posted September 2, 2020 I bought some Tamiya masking tape, X series paints, TS & PS spray paint. I’m going to try my hand at detailing my Honda City Turbo and the PS paint is for my Comical Grasshopper when I can get to it. Honda 1st, Wild One after that, then a Lunchbox and the Comical Grasshopper.

jupitertwo 1484 Posted September 2, 2020 Fitted some TT02 upgrades to the RWD Rally spec Dampers were originally intended for the TT02SD. However the choice of either chassis on the floor or 20mm ride height meant they were unsuitable. However 20mm is better than pogos on a Rally TT02 hmm. I should reroute that switch wire, given there’s no prop shaft to foul!

There was about 12 minutes of video I had and the amount of times I cut out the fails wasn’t funny but it was so much fun I love the CR01
dannymulder 766 Posted September 3, 2020 After a little break from rc for 2 months, I finished my rebuild of my ta-03f that I bought second hand and started to rebuild 2 months ago. now I need an new project, all of my cars are done and up and running, I own 10 at this moment, but for now I do not know what to buy for weeks I am looking for a nice deal on something I like but there is nothing that I really want, but this is good for my wallet
Busdriver 6209 Posted September 3, 2020 Havent really been doing much lately. Past month or so have had two major Migriane attacks 4/5 days each of total misery. Just coming out of the second one so was just fiddling about with different bodies on different chassis. Now Ive always wanted a Defender without a roof like this!!! but all the hard bodies dont really fit a CC01 chassis. So whilst playnig around I hatached a plan. In my bits store I had the rear half of a Unimog 406 body and guess what turned upside down it fits inside the rear half of the defender body. Only one thing for it "Off with its Head", then some judicious trimming and shooglueamd you end up with this! And finally somebody to drive it. Still work in process. Glue needs a good 24 hours before tidying up with the dremmel. Am going to play around with the Wrangler mounts so I dont have any body clips on the rear bed. Hopefully sickness bouts are over I can get back to some modelling again. Have loads to finish and some to start!!

Aerobert 2142 Posted September 3, 2020 Cool Project @Busdriver! Looking forward for the finished car. I've done something similar with my Bronco but there is still so much work to do and there are so many other projects.

Honda 1st, Wild One after that, then a Lunchbox and the Comical Grasshopper. The Tamiya masking tape is really good. On my first build I just used decorating masking take that I had knocking around, which is a bit heavy handed and not accurate enough. I've since used the various widths of the Tamiya stuff to far better effect. It still takes bloomin' ages to get it all masked off properly mind! Juhunio 6830 Posted September 3, 2020 Finished the painting and stickering of my Mini Cooper restoration, an eBay purchase which arrived like this: AFTER buying it, and finding it hard and disgusting to get the paint off, I asked the guy what he had used to paint it. The answer was a random can of Halfords car paint he had knocking around And I reckon he'd used the whole can too. Lesson learned; if buying a restoration project and the shell needs rescuing, ask what it was painted with BEFORE you buy it Anyway, after a lot of Graffiti remover and Tamiya polycarbonate cleaner I got most of the black sludge off, but it left the shell very cloudy and some of it just wouldn't budge. The job also exposed a couple of nasty splits But I cracked on with painting anyway, decided to do the roof black to hide some sins, and the rest Racing Green on the hope it would be bright enough to look clean but dark enough to hide some of the prior damage. I ordered some replica stickers from MCI, and... I couldn't shift some old tape residue off the windscreen and rear window, but it's in a lot better shape than when I received it. A few repairs under the skin to reinforce the cracks It could well have just been condemned, but I think it will have some semblance of a life again now! Now, just got to rebuild the chassis...

Mrowka 494 Posted September 4, 2020 Took my white Javelin out and let my little man drive. He does pretty good for a six year old, and actually seems to have some control sometimes. At least he didn't crash into anything. Cleaned it up, put in some different pinion gears in one of my other Javelins and my Fox. The Fox turned out to be a pain. This was because the pinion was interfering with the far side of the transmission. Once that problem was addressed, everything went better.

DeadMeat666 1675 Posted September 4, 2020 Not much, but I assembled some fitting wheels/inserts/tires for the TB04R project. I'm very impressed with how sticky these tires feel, and the fact that they're reinforced is never a bad thing.

Ferruz 11702 Posted September 4, 2020 We went through a whole bunch of Antique Shoppes in the area, some of which were absolutely huge, to a point that I started hoping that the little RC hound in me might find something... no luck. Plenty of 1/24 static kits though, even some Tamiya ones, but none of them was priced low enough to be of any interest. This was the only RC related thing I spotted, a cool Cox engine probably for an aircraft Tons of funky stuff which kept tingling my hopes to find some remote controlled treasure lol, but no way In the meantime, the Hornet keeps up with the travels
