Only got a test piece done last night. Left strip is ps15 backed with white then black. Middle is ps15 with black, right hand strip is ps15 backed with smoke then black. Dunno if you can tell on the photo as the light isn't the best. I'll have another look tonight if it's still daylight when I get home

This is very interesting, as I'm thinking about painting a body shell with PS-15 and it should be as dark as possible. Daylight picture would be great. Thanks.

Did notice the darker backings bring out the metallic better. I'll chuck a better picture up tonight

must admit i`m leaning towards the plain black backing. Ive left the clear parts below so I can have a fiddle and see what they look like with the secondary colour for the bumpers and sliders

Went through my showroom and put SOLD on all the rc cars I've parted with over the last couple of years. I was going to just delete them, but there is some great comments/memories that I don't wish to let go of, even though I let go of all those cars. Rather sobering and slightly depressing really 😕

Decided I am going to put the NA MX5 body on my M02M chassis (maybe permanently, maybe just for the time being...) I  removed the hex adapters (about 4.5mm thick) and the wheels from the M08 and they fit nicely on the M02. This means all I have to get is the M02 set back rear body mounts which are still obtainable, although a little more costly than I'd hoped. Fitting the NA MX5 to the M08 was going to mean making up some custom carbon fibre body relocation mounts as I had the pre-drilled body and neither the front or rear lined up properly.

I also put the factory body posts, bumper, and wider hexes from the M02m back on the M08. Now need to find a body for this chassis... I have beetle wheels, and the Karmann Ghia body set is available at a nice price... could be an option...

Doesn’t look much but put some stickers on the mountain rider. The chrome ones, and black edging etc. I’ve gone non-standard on the paint colour!

Because of the colour I’m now thinking the orange stickers won’t look right, what do you think? I might leave them off

How about the new shape MX-5 shell for the newer RWD M-chassis?

What chassis are you using this body for?

That's an option I have considered, but I already have two Minis which I am still unsure about, and I dunno about 2 MX5s as well, especially considering the other fantastic bodies Tamiya makes for the M-chassis range... I also want the gen1 (s3) RX-7, and the VW beetle also... 😄 decisions, decisions...

Yes. I’ve seen I could get some blue repro ones off eBay, I’m considering them as blue & green look ok together.

Have a look at a few Hornets. They have orange stickers. See what body colours work or not. I think they will actually.

After a sonic bath these shocks got some new o rings I had left over from hop up shocks, the clear ones that come with the CC01 alu upgrades. Used some 400 oil & reassembled using my new circlip pliers.

Tomorrow I'll be home from work alone and I can't momentarily access my side projects, which frees me from any guilt... this is why I did this today: reclaiming part of the dinner table for a good healthy therapeutic build!

Man cave and hobby room owners please don't laugh too hard at me... gotta deal with what we got, even in terms of available space :P

Been staring at this box for 5 months, can't wait to start.

No shame. I used to have a whole room filled with shelves of rc and a desk and all the time in the world to work on stuff. Now I have sold most of my stuff and have a poxy linen cupboard to cram my junk in and also have no time and use the dining table to work on my stuff. Sometimes your priorities change. Just as long as you get that alone time to switch off and do something for yourself once in a while, that's what matters. 🙂

Enjoy your build, man.

Can’t decide which hood scoop to use on my G63 AMG it’s now more of Brabus tuned than AMG.
#1 RC4WD scoop. I like this minimal look

#2 Jeep hood scoop. Decent size scoop but definitely not accurate Brabus.

#3 Scale Brabus scoop just like the real truck, the only thing is it’s not 100% accurate. It too thick compare to real one so it look a bit over the top on the model.

#4 mouse scoop .. lol please ignore

please let me know which I should go for?

#4 will not count. I got full Brabus treatment on the truck, bush guard, snorkels, and many more I still need to add.

thank you

Ok, so the Ghia AND the ND MX-5 we're in stock with the distributor so called my LHS and ordered both 🤷‍♂️

Both fixes everything, right? Tamiyaclub rule #1

My daughter caught a bug from school and was up vommiting at 1:30am so stayed home with her today, and while she laid on the couch watching tv and falling in and out of sleep recovering, I took little 5 minute breaks from her periodically to replace some of the non-standard hardware and a few broken bits on the new M01 I received yesterday.

Also made another purchase list.

Woops.

🤦‍♂️

Assuming you go for option 3, which is my personal favorite, how will you be able to reach the body clips?

It’s hinged and opens up which you can access the body clips.. pretty cool design.

Rolled the Grasshopper a few times practicing for Racing by Post... snapped the antenna mast in half and put some new scratches on the roof. Good thing I haven't repainted the body yet!

Not today but last night.

Fitted a 54783 carbon body post mount. Allows the use of trf style damper mounts with regular body post positions 👍
