What was done today...

Rebuilt this CNC aluminum and carbon fiber crawler of my friend. This is based on the SCX10. I also replaced all suspension links to a better set. Now there's only minimal slop. I also installed the front and rear bumpers, bumper lights front and rear and re-arranged the electronics' wires for cleaner and neat look.

Been a long time since I did anything to my highlift. When I took it off the shelf the mirrors fell off due to age. I decided to order more scale mirrors for the Tundra. Never like the original kit ones, too big. I even had modify and shorten the driver side mirrow as it's longer than the passenger side.

Below is back is the Tamiya mirrors and the front set is the new better looking mirrors I going to replace he old ones.

Did some ‘Racing by Post’, four entries submitted. If I ever get to move house, a large smoothie tarmac driveway is getting higher on the ‘must have’ list :D

This evening some more time spent assembling my SCX10 III.

I think some proof reading of the instructions would have helped them. Nothing huge, but quite a lot of wrong crew counts and misleading diagrams.
for me, I need to read up on assembling aeration shocks. They don’t feel right, certainly not like the diaphragm shocks I’m used to.

Just a little bit last night, as i have been a bit off rc for a couple of weeks. Strangely flat about it at the mo. Anyway, so lovely M Chassis aluminium dampers turned up from rcmart so I built those and loose fitted them to the TT01E I picked up just before the tier 3 restrictions came into play which stopped me racing. I now have everything i need to turn it into an Iconic stock class racer. I guess it will be ready to go whenever we can race again.

Cut out, trimmed, Dremelled (vb / past-tense: to almost endlessly footer with the final finish of an RC body shell using a high-pitched buzzing hand tool and a selection of widgets) and washed 4 body shells

934 RSR as a race liveried runner for my TA02SW

934 RSR for the 49400 unused shelf queen that I picked up at a reasonable price and dismantled ready for a rebuild and a change from the Vaillant livery

Carrera GT for a TB02 R NIB build

Alfa Giulia for an M08 build

The lines on the Alfa shell are gorgeous, but it is very thin in places 🤔

Helping my friend build and modify his XV-01. He ordered these CF parts and installed them. I'll tidy the wiring as soon as the build is complete.

That's really nice! Can you share more pictures of it? Any links to the build please?

This started as a Builder's Kit that was finished at the beginning of the pandemic.  Since I don't trust any of my door-knob-licking friends to "social distance", it has yet to see the trail.

This afternoon we went for a sunset walk in a natural park just out of town, so I took the Hornet with us to run on the trails. The fallen leaves slowed it down, but still it was a fun outing.

That looks like an incredible place to drive! Give me a skateboard and an RC car and I could live there forever

This is exactly what I thought...

PS If you had to choose between the skateboard and the RC car, which one would you choose?

Seriously, that place looks like paradise. At first I thought the picture was fake or modified! Amazing.

Beautiful build on that rig @SupraChrgd82

Like you, I just can't be satisfied with "stock". 😆 Besides, the building is half the fun of RC. 😊

Fantastic shots and scenes as always @Ferruz! 😊

What wheels and tires do you have on the D12? I'm considering to pick one up at some point and I like the look of the ones you have on it.

I would definitely drive an RC...after I was too tired to skate anymore :D

Started to disassemble the Super Fighter G I've got today. Seems it was a little bit longer in the attic:

IMG_20201110_201309_compress45.thumb.jpg.8939a929cbc84c030b3d7cfe6e46ba96.jpg

Fortunately there are no big issues with the car. Currently it seems that I just need new drive shafts as they are worn by the plastic bushings.

Mirrors done, removes the bumper spot lights and lowered the front bull bar as the 1:1 I seen sits much lower than Tamiya suggested. Also toying with 2.2” wheels/tires from my Hilux HL to see how it looks on the Tundra. I think I’ll get a new set and custom fender flares to go with it.

They are Sweep M-chassis wheels - got them from RC-Jaz I think. Tyres are Tamiya M chassis slicks. However......

....they are not a direct fit by any means. The standard wheels are fitted with an M2.5 screw into the hub (which has a small hex with a threaded hole on the back and is part of the axle, and a plastic hub with a threaded hole on the front.)

I raided the Tamiya parts catalogue to sort out the fronts (but I think there is room for improvement so I'm working on that) and for the rear I designed a custom 3D printed adaptor. I'll pop both the front and rear adaptors on my Shapeways page if people are interested.

Made myself have a couple of drinks so I could order some new race bodies and not worry too much.  Man those things are expensive when they are essentially consumables!  Bittydesign Hyper and HC-F for the TA07 and FF04, they should do the trick.  I tried RCMart but US70 of bodies was going to cost US93 to get here, really defeated the point of buying those US12 bodies in bulk!

I don't know if I'll get to use them this side of Christmas as unfortunately real life is getting in the way of toy car racing, but there is a big meet on Jan 16th which should be good.

Finished my mountain rider cockpit. I tried to add some texture to the seats to represent a cloth pattern

Reasonably successful painting day today on a 934 RSR shell. Aiming for an approximation of a Gulf Racing livery, so masked off the bumpers and a centre strip for orange, and painted the body PS3. It's definitely darker than what I would call 'Light Blue', but it'll do

spacer.png

Then on with the PS-62 Pure Orange

spacer.png

I made a rod for my back by deciding to use the very fine pinstripes from a 54731 Racing Stripe sticker set to edge off the blue / orange, but it was worth it in the end I think

spacer.png

spacer.png

Annoyingly, and I don't know how, but the paint just didn't take on one corner of the rear bumper. Gonna have to try and hide it somehow

spacer.png

Other than that though, pretty happy :) Ready for full stickering tomorrow! Loads to choose from...

Finshed (well 99%) my Sheridan. Details in the build section but it looks like this.

Bought an M-06 from @Grumpy pants . Have several body plans for it.

I have been working on my CC01 Wrangler. A roll bar from Shapeways arrived yesterday and I had already receieved some Killerbody racing seats so it wast time to put them all together.

Finally finished my mountain rider. The bodywork has been a bit of a marathon to be honest. I’ve gone non box art colours
