Spent my lunchtime looking at gearing calculations and 'gearing down' with a lower turn motor.

My head was spinning!

Oh no, now I want a Top Cat as well! That looks amazing, moffman!

Cheers mate! I thought I'd do it like the xls but a different selection of colours I was driving from work a few days ago and I was behind a van (plumbers van) and it was these colours and I kinda liked it! The topcat cat is absolute superb especially for the money I've just had it bopping around the garden but it just handles perfect for a 30 year old design.....it really is a good buggy!

Made a new steering knuckle for the Grasshornet out of a piece of old bumper. Direct replacement with no real measuring to speak of, only had to put a couple turns on the tie rod end to get it squared up. My cutout allows even more inward movement than the stock piece for increased Ackerman angles. Hopefully it holds together!

Nice one! I like that you didn't do box art for that one. The front damper design always intrigued me. I remember watching a video with Cecil Schumacher talking about the design and I wish it had been more successful back in the day. So now what's holding me back from it is the the idea of a Kyosho Ultima. If I can afford both I'd love to test them side by side.

Good if it works, but errrr, can’t you buy a new one? (Knuckle)

Sure, I could always buy one. That's easy. Anybody can go out and buy a replacement part.

My rule (and my personal challenge) is to try to make it (or fix it) before I buy it. Hopefully I've bought myself about 6 months before I have to even think about spending money on this part.

And I taught myself how to make a steering knuckle, which I hadn't tried before. So the next one will be even better. And I may not have to ever buy one again.

Took apart the Super Hotshot this evening, even though it was almost done. I had to replace some screws, and more importantly install the MIP diff set:

I stared at this old Falcon chassis on ebay for way too long, thinking how good those monster wheels look on it.

Between the old, crumbly plastic and the dog bones always looking for a way out, it's probably not the best choice for a monster conversion but my god, something just looks so right about those wheels on there

I have a Falcon laying around doing nothing too...

Must resist....will end badly.....

I put the new Hyrax tires on my Losi Comp Crawler, these things are huge! For comparison, my Night Crawler is the one on the right:o

Sure it may end badly, but it would be a great buddy for the bonkers Lunchbox you have.

Today I cut the grass, painted some of the Knight Hauler interior while a battery was charging for some Postal Racing.

Then after that I did a wheel spin...

Did you post this picture trying to tempt me to keep my WO? It’s working 😂

Is the engine and interior for this car?

Now, would I do something like that to you??😉

If your having doubts now then absolutely, definitely do not click on this link...

https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=134660&id=49381

There are some outstanding examples fully decked out with a faux motor and added accessories, something for down the track for me as I’m enjoying it stock bar the 13.5t LRP BL (2s) in it for the time being.

I must admit I was tempted to message you to see what you were chasing for yours 😬 but I’ve now invested in some M05 bits and bobs and pulled the trigger on a MK1 Escort shell yesterday, before they disappear again, that came up at an Aussie shop on eBay. It’s the same one that L&L in the UK sell. So I’m going to need a chassis for that project.

I tried Round 7 of the Postal Racing on Stock & SRB wheels with the WO,  I never would have thought they would have made so much difference.

While the Stock wheels (in the garden) are great for holding a straight line at speed, they struggled on the tight turns. Where as the SRB wheels made it much more nimble, turning in much sharper.

I came to the conclusion that that’s why the FAV’s are so popular. Now at least I have a sort of FAV until they get rere’d again.

All the best in deciding whether to let yours go........or not 😉

Stripped down my Tamiya BZ, cleaned and replaced the bushings with R22RS bearings)

That'll be a big improvement. Bushings causes drag and will eventually have slop/play when they start to wear out.

I added oil-filled coil overs to my Black Edition. Now I just need to polish the body and wait for spring to run it.

Hah, I'm watching this and very tempted. If other TC members are interested I'll back off.

Got new cheap unbranded wheel/tire combo and aluminum disk wheel hub to replace disintegrated original ones.

Yes, I still run my TT-01 with brushed motor and old school Novak Super Rooster ESC :D

I need to build my M05ver2 to 225mm wheelbase and use touring car tires, the suzuki swift body might be a choice.

on 210mm it looks just cartoon. Obviously possible  on the S14 body.
