Ordered an Escort Mk2 MF-01X. The waiting begins!

Wheres the best place/price for one of these, although I'm tempted, I don't want to overpay for an old Escort... Again :lol:

The lights for the Turbo Scorpion are almost done. I used the same controller as the Lancia 037 so I can manage them in pair, and this time I bought proper warm white leds instead of painting cold ones.

Looks like a Ok deal but i have a lot off bearings and 14.40 GBP was not cheap, i would look for the exact bearing set an probably buy them loose. And Pre painted in that bright white is an issue for me, even if the original seem to have that very bright white colour.  But i was reading that mf-01X should suit a Rally car.

Its great that this page have options, should be more of this!. Should also be able to choose Prepainted - Lexan  or Hard Body and Do you really need another  Tamiya Box Wrench - Yes - No ?? hehe

Started trimming my Mini body and deciding what I'm going to do with it. I've nick-named it Development Hack because I want to practice some skills - trimming , painting, stickers and maybe try out some new techniques. My list so far is

Liquid mask

Magnetic body mounts

Simple interior

Once up and running, I'm hoping I can move on to my TXT-2 Agrios build. More rummaging around has uncovered a can of metallic blue paint and another dual-motor ESC. Looking through my tcphotos, I found a pic showing some Summit stickers from MCI. That means they must be in the pile laid flat on top of the wardrobe! So means I'm pretty much ready to get building!

@i_am_scarecrow good to see you back on TC. Didn’t you have a car display in your loft? Was that in the old house?

Hope you get your cars back up on display, would be great to see them again.

And your new big infestation!

I had a huge amount in my loft but all boxed up, my old display looked like this. Some I still have, some I've sold on. Sadly I sold the display cases so I'm on the hunt for more of those.

Technically did it yesterday but I let it sit overnight before removing the outer wrap. I got my Rally Beetle shell painted and am almost done with the chassis. It's just mocked up in the pic

5 cm snow over hard snow/ice looked like great fun for Top-Force and it was, it has not been out much.

Restoration of my DynaBlaster,

Put the tires on rims, and wheels on the chassis frame and get mark of the position of the original bodyshell.

Next step : Restoration of the Bodyshell

Tamiya Paint cleaner => Paint => Polycarbonate Cement re-association of front and rear parts ( cut )

Yep, these are Detolfs. Minis and buggies fit ok but the longer cars mean I had to remove the side sections. I bought the extra shelves and brackets from Ebay.

Wrong loft, you’re thinking of the guy with a Harley I think?

Had a man cave in his loft and lots of Tamiya displayed on the walls.

I can’t remember his name right now.

There certainly is, there's also one heading out too, luckily

I did manage to give this one a very quick (and gentle) outing though :)

Yesterday I started cutting up cardboard to use as a template for an interior plate for the Mini, no pics as not much to show!

This morning I nipped out to the garage and retrieved a bit of ABS sheet, magnets and a driver figure.

Of course, this little guy needs quite a bit of filling and sanding before painting.

You’re right - @i_am_scarecrow has a similar avatar photo to @Vrdetailing to my decrepit eyesight (made worse by squinting at a phone screen) and I got a bit confused - I should have checked before posting. Both were very active when I first joined and both had really great cars!

Welcoming  you back nonetheless @i_am_scarecrow! I hope you got to keep some of your Minis.

Today i installed the Top-Force Hop-Up dampers i got from my wife this Christmas. Impressed me that she actually went to the local RC store and bought them.
