Just bought on ebay a Fiat 500 M  body. I believe this one will be adorable here in Croatia living next to Italy.

thats very good, because I already have a Fiat Abarth 1000TCR,  now this 500 “Lounge” and I need to gather at some point a 58444 and that would be all Tamiya Fiat Bodies??

Yes I am that guy... Loves a good Fiat!
Like “Fix It Again Toni” :D

but before the 58444 I believe I will source a Giulia as they are getting rarer and I really want one for my Italian Collection.

hqdefault.jpg

mine is red, back when I used to work at Sixt we rented dozens of these to hundreds of people; all were 1.2 8V Lounge equipment, they are great to drive. I rented it once. Would rather buy a Fiat Panda 0.9 2cyl then the 500 tho... I loooove the 0.9 2cyl Fiat Panda 4x4, it goes so well and tops out at 140kmh. Who doesnt know about those 2cylinder cars, better have a look. To me they drive like a old beverly 200 Piaggio :D but are 4x4 !

The first speed run with my DT02 Holiday buggy, quite surprised at the speed I achieved, looking forward to messing with this more to squeeze more speed out of it, hopefully take it to a better more secluded location very soon.
Hope you enjoy, feel free to sub 😃

I love it! Nice collection.

So far in this hobby I had 1 chance to buy the 58444 body, 115€ including the kit rims and tires off a XB I believe. The seller did not accept paypal, that was a bit fishy... havent seen the body come up anymore, only in kit form.

Why M04, dont you need a M07 ? To be drivetrain correct :D

There certainly is, there's also one heading out too, luckily

I did manage to give this one a very quick (and gentle) outing though :)

Looks good! How are the front lights mounted? I've only seen them on the nose of the body (where they snap off after a few good hits).

I like rwd and motorsport liveries so the fiat's coming off to replace with the Escort 👍

Since the Dyna Run motor went in the Vaillant 934 I had a spare Sport tuned motor, so it went into the Lancia 037, which was a bit slow, I also 3D printed a small part to hold the antenna down on top of the motor, I don't really like having it sticking out of the body, and I never go really far with it so I dont think it'll hurt the range for me.

Inspired by the postal racing thread I decided to arrange a post race myself, pitting Tamico, Rcmart and Modellbau Seidl against each other to see who has lands the package at my door the fastest. Sadly it appears Modelbau Seidl won’t ship to Norway, so the field is down to RcMart and Tamico.

Might have done a slight no no and added another Vqs kit to the order from Tamico, but I’ve done bigger errors in the past.

Probably bad form to quote myself, but just thought I'd report back with the winner of the post race. Tamico get's the victory, no surprise really as RCMart has a slight geographical disadvantage and Modelbau Seidl didn't get off the start line until the day after the two others kicked into action.

EDIT to say, well this obviously should've been in the postman brought me thread, but there you go.

From Norway myself, my Top-Force is from RC-mart back when shipping prices where good and Vat was not a issue, how is it now?.

Best deals im sure is from Tamico at the moment as the also remove Vat from prices, and yes they should be faster.

Looks like a lot of fun that box of yours

VAT was definitely an issue -that was calculated prior to check out. Can't say the shipping prices raised my eyebrow, so I'm guess that was fair. Agreed, Tamico are great -Modelbau Seidl have a lot in stock that was sold out at Tamico, but it was a hassle to arrange shipping and as it hasn't arrived yet I'm not sure it actually worked out.

Yeah, some Vanquish spare parts will always come in handy :) And I've got a ton of stuff to catch up on seeing as I haven't bought a single kit in three years.

Oh, last i checked Rc-Mart shipping was more than the kit i was interested in (250$) So then i believe its better now :).

Same with Timetunnel, most products also gone from their Ebay store (not checked for awhile though).

edit: Rc-Mart actually offer free shipping to Norway at the moment so they are back with better offers now

Arranged to go into the office next Wednesday - got to pick up a new phone. First time I've been there since the last lockdown started. That means I can also pick up few RC items that have landed there -

MF-01X Escort

Porsche 934 wing and mirrors

Porsche 934 decals

Jeep JL replica wheels

I think that's it!

Just a teeny bit excited about the Escort! Though I need to finish the Mini first...

I gave some different rattle cans a try today.

Montana Gold & Metallic.

400ml tins and at A$8 wholesale to me I thought would be worth a look.

A couple of my chosen colours are out of stock, but the Metallic Silver, Metallic Black and Shock Dark Orange that came are nice.
The other two are a Transparent Gravel & Mystic Black that I was keen to experiment with after seeing the activity on the Custom Paint thread. As this is all with a Knight Hauler body in mind it’ll be a bit of a reverse process to a Lexan body.

If it doesn’t work out then at least the paint smelt nice.

I used to get to work extra early so I could tinker on a chassis before the job kicked in. I’ve found that the same can apply at home - I get a bit done before Mrs BC and el kid descend and chaos / real life ensue.

This morning I spent a few peaceful minutes working on the rear profile of the Mini interior.

ED98BE59-0CB5-46D3-90D4-55FEEE31DA12.jpg

And refining the servo mount area, still more to do

I need to decide how to mount this interior. At present I have two vertical c/board plates screwed to the body post holes. Really good for setting the height of the interior as I could chop the cardboard down.

I could replicate this in plasticard or revert to body posts through the interior. There won’t be much of them though

More thinking required. Opinions welcome!

Today i installed the Top-Force Hop-Up dampers i got from my wife this Christmas. Impressed me that she actually went to the local RC store and bought them.

See never underestimate the other half? My wife and children (who are fully grown adults and not children) for the first time in 30 years actually clubbed together and bought my xmas present from the local hobby shop like your wife did with your hi-caps (which incidentally look very good on that topforce) so it can happen although in my case it took 30 years but it's all good!

I had a better look at my recent LB arrival 😊

Definitely a keeper and to be a runner, my wife has asked if we can use it- so there we go a commitment was made by me.

The plan is simple, axle lock, oil shocks, maybe a better wheelie bay and then enjoy.

The 1st roll over is going to hurt as the shell has been painted and it looks all the better for it at the moment 🙈

In my mind this is the replacement for the yet to be sold Honda City Turbo...

No kit for 3 years! I keep on saying to myself after buy a kit "that's the last one my collection is complete".........it generally lasts for a few months then another kit appears I think my longest without a kit is a year?

I know! I’m pretty certain the last kits I bought prior to the VQS, Super Astutes and Terra Scorchers was back in 2017. I think I meant to buy a Bigwig as that was the latest re-re, but I never got around to it.

This wasn’t out of conviction or anything, but we bought a house and moved from our apartment in 2018 and tripling the amount of available space and suddenly having a garden (even though it’s on a slope that aspires to be a cliff) moved focus elsewhere for a while. Tending to all kinds of fruit trees, growing vegetables and herbs, and trying to establish the need to have a turntable in almost every room as an undeniable fact of life was time consuming. Not to mention that I for the first time had the opportunity to fit most of my record collection in one room, instead of having it spread across an apartment and the cabin. This meant I had to research old quad amplifiers and garrard turntables as I decided 25 years ago that that would be my listening room setup should I ever get one. Turns out being a nerd really chips away on available spare time.

So yeah, I really have a lot of catching up to do. And it’s nice to have all this renewed energy and interest in rc again. I think it made me appreciate it even more.

Got the man cave up to about 80f and left it for 3 hours to drop the humidity.?then primed and ten threw a whole can of metallic orange 🍊 onto the truck. Rear bed is NATO black a really good colour. Somewhere between Matt and Satin and a bit of grey in it. I have to say I’ve had almost as much fun with this £50 ( body kit extra) as any other model. Hard body fo me makes a huge difference. Have a set of  Shimizu med tyres to fit. Lower profile than stock M cassis wheels. Just the interior to think about now . I’m thinking off white leather?? Any thoughts???1E357C09-5E58-4482-A1E9-C5EF7FC8C346.jpeg.0a12044037c4a9b8a05d201a3c42dd43.jpeg9BF833A7-F770-4C95-B542-7E01F7DEF59A.jpeg.4b68f5431daf92e56ccad37dfb34a9da.jpeg7BAB6AB8-C340-444C-9214-CA88587D6DB2.jpeg.eb541e274aad2a826774c6e97782f46e.jpeg

Not directly Tamiya related but I did some sorting out in my RC/hobby room.

Have listed a couple of old game consoles (Dreamcast and 3DO) on eBay as a result.
