Ferruz 11702 Posted May 29, 2021 Gave a little TLC to some of my cars... cleaning, dusting, bit of grease here, a drop of oil there. The Scorchy is just posing though as it was already spik and span and a random pic from a few days ago... "waiting for the sun" I guess Also, I almost sold my Samurai yesterday and now I'm so glad I didn't!!

Do they fit the kit wheels ok, and are they much taller than the stock tires?

Yeah, they fit both the front and rear stock wheelas perfectly, which isn't always the case as you know with the odd size of the front wheels. They are maybe 8-10mm taller than the stock tires and they grip really well on just about all terrain.

Willy iine 18806 Posted May 29, 2021 I started building my Willy’s Wheeler today. Some of the bolts had plating that deteriorated so it took me a while to polish them before I could start. Added bonus with this kit is that it came with an M38 bumper which is not used. So replaced the scratched up one that was on my SWB #2. 7
Ferruz 11702 Posted May 30, 2021 Ran the usual suspects this evening, a few battery packs between the three of them. I had to stop eventually due to too many mosquitoes!

nel33 870 Posted May 30, 2021 this saturday was good, got a bit of bicycling done and got to RC a bit. its turned out to be a bit red :). brought the R33 TT02D and slash with me. ive been procrastinating about using the soft rubber tires so decided to just put them on the TT02D. before is was just destroying hard drift tires and didnt really get a good idea of handling or speed. its still slow 22km stock pinion with sport tuned but it was fun. i ran it in the park for a bit on the road but those threatening concrete road barriers were always scary. the M2 body i dont care much about to bash but the R33 is a more careful body to run. it has some handling issues when one tire loses contact with ground sending it veering to one side. between monitoring the bumps and the concrete walls, i had my attention cut out for it. decided to move it over to the parking lot in the mall in front of my parent's place. nice wide open area :), so much better for my nerves. i used the parking lot lines to mimic a race by the post track and its surprisingly harder tan it looks to the used to the handling. stock TT02 steering dont help when one side just doesnt turn the wheels as much as the other side... i took the slash to tear up some grass in the park, burnt through the 4200 MAH battery and partially through 3000MAH until i called it a day. the shells were a bit dusty before but i had some fun and the soft rubber compound held up well for slow stock TT02 speeds. took a pic of the 2 on top of my daily 1:1. i encountered another racer but it seems like he wasnt in his car to take my challenge. i will try calling Bunta about his son ignoring me but he'll probably brush me off and say what his son does isnt his concern and he's free to make his own descisions... maybe if a full tank of gas was wagered i might get somewhere... i do have plans to cut down the antennas but nut until i got the other 2 RC bodies cut and fitted to the chassis.
Re-Bugged 10153 Posted May 30, 2021 Cracked on a bit with the FB chassis. I’d bought some aluminum for stiffening up my Sand Scorcher chassis a couple of years ago but near got round to it so I used some of it on the underside of this one instead. This has been so nice to build an SRB chassis new from the box with all its juicy metal parts 👍🏻

c64orinoco 667 Posted May 30, 2021 Not quite RC but I finished off my LunchBox Junior - a little motorised 4WD free-runner. You can't have too many LunchBoxes!
Willy iine 18806 Posted May 30, 2021 Finished the chassis today. I had to paint the wheels white before I could complete it due to discoloration from age. Going to test drive it now and work on the body next. I think I’m just going to paint it Pure White for now and leave it without the red/blue decals as I bought a WR02-XB version. I always liked white City Turbo’s. Painted the body TS26. I think I’m going to matte black the hood (bonnet) tomorrow. And give Willy his weekend helmet (bright glossy red)..

Aerobert 2147 Posted May 31, 2021 Ready for hitting the beaches of Vestjylland / Denmark... Unfortunately I didn't manage to finish the planned shell for my Blitzer Beetle, so this one has a comeback on this chassis. Still looking cool.
Driveforfun 69 Posted May 31, 2021 Broke out the Heavy Dump Truck to haul some imaginary construction materials for my son (wood, metal, and special tools for those curious). This thing can be alot of fun if you let it do its thing! Has a Traxxas brushed esc and 550 sized motor, which has been perfect for this chassis. Also has an automated dump feature (aka papa wheelie)
Willy iine 18806 Posted May 31, 2021 After doing some research on City Turbo's I did not see any with CF hood so decided to keep the bonnet white. However, I made the color more a vanilla ice cream color and of course cherry on top for extra sweetness. After they both dry I will start the brush painting.
Re-Bugged 10153 Posted June 1, 2021 After mulling over a few ideas recently I started off hitting the FB body with the leftover Blue Mountain from the SS. Once that was cured it was the next deliberation was have I just wasted 2 1/2 hours and a shed load of masking tape on the next bit 😬 You never really know what’s going to happen til the tape comes off. Still going to add some more but it’s a relief this stage went well 😁
