Worked on the fender a little more and the hood today with a trial base coat on the fender.   It should look as good as new when done.

Also sanded the spare tire, misc parts, and the driver figure today including the helmet.

New body for the rustler !

I really prefer classic aftermarket bodies on the rustler to the Traxxas one that looks like a truggy and a nascar had an unholy union

Good looking fade paint job.

Airbrush or Cans ?

I used Tamiya PS 30 blue

so that kind of counts as Tamiya

I still have do detail stickers and some mild body enforcement after it fully cures

Fitted new hub & axle tube to the red clod, during which noticed the gearbox & ladder rail got cracks in. When I went looking for parts I ended up ordering (another) black clod  just couldn’t help it!

Me too, the stock body is just too busy for my liking. I actually bought the body already painted but it was done with Tamiya cans. I’m going to remove the rustler decals, doesn’t look good after seeing for a bit.

@Robert5000 LOL kids can be so ignorant on how some things break easily enough. I hope they learn that crashing=fun isnt the only thing in RC.  I hope they learn to drive a bit more cautiously soon.

Today was more of a what have you done at work, more specifically before work shift. I checked my tool box for a hex driver smaller than 1.5mm. No luck in mine but my co worker has the 30 piece set I'm looking to buy that has .7, .9, 1.3 MM Allen keys. Got my die and tap set out, used the m3x0.5 thread tapping tool to add more threads to the revo brake bolts. Only did 2 bolts to test the premesis and success. Put enough threads that I could connect 1 lower suspension arm together without any loose halves. Gonna do the same with 8 more screws Tuesday and arrive early to get the other 3 arms built.

Wakka Wakka Wakka @Wooders28, great job, smart Ultima too.
Pac-man was my sister’s fav at the arcades, I was more Asteroids, Defender and Pole Position myself. That was until Out Run came along, then that was the only game worth putting pocket money in 😁

i didnt play too many claasic games, tetris and break out style games were some. mostly Initial D and soul calubur and maximum tune as m y first addictions to arcade games. the only arcade left has Arkanoid: the revenge of DOH among several classics they brought back. that Arkanoid game is fun and dangerous while being extremely infuriating... think i suffer from PTSD when i hear opening theme of that game...

This is from yesterday evening... still stranded in a random motel while finishing up the packing of our place and belongings. Being able to go for a stretch with an rc car at the end of the day sure helps

My dad use to give my brother and me spare change when we went to the super market where arcade games were usually lined up.  I'd watch my brother play Defender and Galaxian (?) for like an hour with one or two coins and I just saved up my coins to buy plastic model kits.

Nice shot, Ferruz!!

Got more stuff done on the M38 today.
I expect to finish the chassis tomorrow and majority of the body.   Then paint Willy maybe before the weekend.  :D

Well, I messed up the original body for my Lunchbox Black Edition when opening the tail lights for the AMPro lights so bad I ordered a new body off eBay, which arrived pretty quick!

So after dinner, I started with the mods, got the tail light area opened nicely, side marker lights drilled and cleaned up for the AMPro pieces, mold lines cleaned up……

and then cut the roof out of the old body so I can make a patch panel to fill in the roof of the new body to get rid of that roof vent!

I also plan on patching that antenna hole too, then with smooth every thing out and fill the low spots before laying the paint on it!

Finished off the FB driver. Having seen someone add a visor to a helmet by cutting up a water bottle I thought I’d give it go on this one. (Thanks for tip to that member, sorry but I’ve forgotten who it was!!) At least the drivers head is now has a little less resemblance to an 80’s Lego Spaceman 😉. I also added a bit of Red to the alloy rim covers. I might try a Gel roller pen for the tyre lettering this time.

Filled in the roof vent and antenna holes, have them held in place with Plastic Weld for now be will put in some Bob Smith Foam Safe CA in the gaps for added bonding.  Once that is good and solid, I’ll probably do some filling with Bondic then do the final filler with some 2 part “icing” type automotive filler.

got my manta lower suspension arms built before my shift at work started. i used a m3x 0.5 tapping tool to make the thread on the Revo brake bolt threads longer. the threads were 3/"16 long and i made them to be just over 3.8" long. took care to slowly tighten the 3x21mm bolts while checking if the 2 halves were loose or not. got them snug and then added a half turn to be solid.

Made a start on my carbon Super Hotshot build. I know there are loads on Hotshot builds on here but I may do a build thread.

Mmmmm, I think you should B).

Looking at that, not sure why you're thinking about a TD-4!

New vs old I guess. I like both. Both will be runners and both will be ragged around my local purpose built off road track. Just for fun obviously 😬👍

😁 I saw a guy on Instagram building one and asked him who made it. It was so nice I had to order one (or two). I've had a Super Hotshot sat in the box for a year and this spurred me into building it.
