Painted the driver for a Turbo Tomahawk build that I finished this morning. Cant seem to flatten off the yellow sticker on the steering wheel though. Might cut it off or paint it black.

Good job. On the yellow, did you try using some heat to get the decal to stretch and contour?  If not I would gently remove it, then reapply using an emboss heat gun and silicon squeegee.

Hairdryer will also work, just more air flow vs heat gun.   GL!

That is the typical reason why I prefer go paintjob rather than stickers. Your driver's helmet and face are superb!

This is the driver of my Javelin (only stickers are applied on the Helmet: the visor made using part of the Kyosho sticker and the small Kyosho sticker).

In the meantime, I progressed on the Turbo Optima in the afternoon. Status of the operations as of the time I was due to free the table

I will update the thread, but probably not right now... (well, it's updated :-D )- you may find it in Kyosho corner)

Been a fairly productive day, did a bit of work on the widened rear arches of my next teapot racer project:

Fitted nice shiny red shocks to my Rookie Rabbit:

Trimmed and painted the new shell for my TT-01:

Progress was halted when my can of PS smoke gave up the ghost partway through the first coat. Another is on order...

186 mm wheelbase custom cutdown prop shaft, the rest is a MF-01x, but with a 1/14 Pick up body.

For a second I thought that owl (?) in the second picture looked like it was giving us the birdie.

Nice job on the truck.

I removed the rear gearbox and suspension assembly from Manta chassis. Had an idea right after that as I wasn't able to find a quality red anodized drive shaft. Have the blue bling tamiya one and a can of ts18? Red metallic that I used for rim highlights and thought it would be a waste to not use it a bit more of that paint.

After a quick trip to the maze that calls itself a Scandanavian budget furniture store I painted the other side of the drive shaft. I left the end of the dog bones blue as I can't bother to de-anodize the shaft and red paint would wear off anyway.

Nothing R/C for me, was going to rewire a nerf gun until I have been called out 4 times for Hydrogen bus issues (my actual job) . Typically it's a CTRL, ALT and ...... You get the point. 😂😂👍

Did you ever notice how much of this hobby is literally watching paint dry?

slightly stressed  in swapping out the gear box parts. taking alot of time to avoid scarfing the plastic on the 2 covers of the gearbox. removed the tires/shocks and suspension arms in 1 go and let the dog bones fall out.

1hr later... the rear gearbox is rebuilt with the new casing and all went fine, still stressful AH to avoid scarfing but now i just need to address the scarfed hole mounts for the rear on the tub and pick up the selftappers. when im happy there is no play in the chassis/gearbox mount i will put in the electronics in the tub and then find time to stretch its legs. this is nearing the end of the manta saga though i do have some custom stickers planned for it.

Lots done today, started by cleaning my TRF102 and put new stupidly expensive bearings in it (I prob won’t even notice a difference :(). Tried to fix my dads 4wd torment but found out I need to order some more parts, then I updated the electronics in his clod.

The silver can f1s body has been sitting partially painted for a few weeks now, so I continued that so I can get back to trying for 50mph again. Then decided to make the P34 a silver can speed run car, so I put electronics in it (it’s been sitting with nothing in it for quite some time).

Since I was already painting and a grasshopper showed up, I decided to paint it (nothing special, all one color using whatever ts paint I had on hand, lime green or black, I need to stock up on more choices). It’s the first time I’ve painted a body before building the car, I think I might do this more often. Then I decided to build it.

Finally getting around to wrapping this up. Started with the aluminum wheels and CCP chassis I got in a pile of stuff off ebay a few weeks back. Had something in mind with aluminum parts but that all changed when I found a donor Super BF for the front and rear end. (I secretly want an RC10T Monster so I kinda had that in mind with this build) I couldnt source a BF body but I found a Associated truck body that is pretty identical minus the windows. Using magnet mounts theyre actually pretty rad the thing just snaps in place. And best part is Ill just get some more magnets to run my Pumkin body when I feel like it. The front pin is setup to adjust height easily. Newer electronics. I know shocks are upside down but front end is frankensteined with Super parts and standard BF parts and it doesnt like the shocks mounted other way for some reason. Body needs some stickers but its 99% done. Will run it tomorrow and see if anything needs changing.

The weather has been rubbish so still haven’t painted the Egress’ wing but couldn't keep it clean any longer!
We have a little park down the road with a perfect loose gravel path!
My daughter was a nervous but excited driver…

That's brave with the solid curb!

Hold the phone the right way next time, we see the world in widescreen after all. 😉

Yes, was a bit nervous but the Egress actually clears the curb in this location.
Point taken with the phone although I was a bit distracted ;)

Finished a Turbo Tomahawk build. Kyosho never made an official enhanced Tomahawk like they did with the Scorpion and Optima that im aware of so I gave it a go.

Its basically a half Turbo Scorpion and Half Tomahawk. Its built with;

Tomahawk chassis rails and radio plates, body shell and cockpit.

Turbo Scorpion gear box, steering, suspension mounts and longer wheelbase rear chassis plates.

Scorpion HG wing mount and Javelin wing.

Turbo Optima front gold shocks all round (probably need softer springs for front and stiffer rears i think)

Kyosho G15 15t motor, HW1060, Absima receiver and Savox servo.
