Ferruz 11702 Posted October 3, 2021 Turned an old hardware bit into a home brew Tamiya blue bling brace. It acts as a rear box lid retainer, as well as stiffening up the shock tower and overall area significantly ( @nel33speaking of rear gearbox lid mods...) Can't wait to try it out, but will have to wait another week for the new steel pinion.

Can't wait to try it out, but will have to wait another week for the new steel pinion. thats a nice home mod to help the gearbox cover stay down. i think i should be able to find that in red bling. i presume the rear nut makes contact with the plastic backing to give it strength? i got some BL setup planned, picked Spektrum 2847-3200KV sensorless and looking at 10BL60 esc. got the 21T pinion though im hoping the shaft on the motor fits. for some reason no sites put down that spec... today was rather interesting to say the least. the theaters didnt accept paper you get after the shot. didnt get QR code earlier because flip phone. they only accpt qr codes so i went and got that fixed with enough time for the movie. i ran manta in the backyard and tinkered with shock preload but didnt have time for a good shakedown. another day will be enough for a park run... i now have 3 dinosaurs. the "newest" on the right side is what i got today. parents' had this phone in the past but like 90% of people they kept upgrading phones. the far left was first phone and was plan B, center phone is plan A and the eyephone 4 (2011 model) is going to serve as a tiny tablet for vaccine QR code device. the first phone ie left side isnt plan B anymore, it wont accwpt my new sim card. forgot center phone at work and didnt think to ask first before killing the sim card out of precaution. the old sim card activated the first phone perfectly and it was 100% functional. after the newest sim card, it didnt jive with the first phone and kept resetting after 15second and loop that forever . the current flip phone will die with time and the iphone 4 will then be made 100% functional when the time comes (providing carriers let it be functional). i dont like the huge screens, its hard to put in the things commonly known as pockets... didnt want to carry around a 2nd phone but the vax QR stuff makes it needed in some occasions... Tbird232ci 333 Posted October 4, 2021 I'm just now jumping into this thread, so I'll break the rules and say what I did yesterday and today! Yesterday, I purchased a new ceiling fan with a bright LED light and some shelving components for the spare room. That room has the girlfriends sewing and Cricut setup, as well as my 3D printers and a work space. Today, I ran out of spending money. For the past few months, I have been working overtime and have been paying bills, buying toys AND having extra money. Today, I hit the limit of my comfort zone. In a few more weeks/months, I'll get back to spending dumb money again. 1
nel33 870 Posted October 4, 2021 i finally figured out a brushless setup for the manta and i havent even dialed in the brushed setup. planning to put 19t pinion because it will handle it. would be a bit sad as that 18T and 19T pinion can only go on the manta but thats the price to pay for looking brushless... the nimh setup im going to try is max10 ezrun sct ESC, 21t pinion (as a start or max limit??) with high speed TA02 gearset and HW Ezrun 3652 G2 3300KV Sensorless Brushless Motor. all will be waterproof in the setup. now to see how much it will cost to purchase... a big thanks to @Jonathon Gillham to help me figure out the seemingly easy (and important info) i need to look out for to avoid baked rc electronics.

Update.. doors shaped and sanded.. next up door handles and sunroof rails.. body is wet.. Update.. more sanding, front cone added with putty, all misc black bits prepped for painting tomorrow.. I realized the cone shape is somewhat different between the Blitzer and SS besides the indicators. I need to make a few adjustments on the body mount position do to this.. Excellent work as usual 2

So I decided on my comical Beetles that I am going to benchmark the color scheme to olive drab and battleship red as the first one I did.. as Ferrari is to red, as Pikachu is to yellow, my Billy's Beetle is olive and red. Going to start painting now..

Going to start painting now.. I think Olive and red is a really good combination. I think Tamiya should be paying you and @JennyMo a royalty then produce a comical bug themselves. I think it’s the best comical incarnation of all…..
Willy iine 18806 Posted October 4, 2021 @Busdriver Thanks! Most definitely JennyMo should be compensated, I’m just taking her idea and changing things up to my theme. TS5 and matte black parts (TS6) painted. Going to work and later during my break will do the dull red TS33. Need to clean up the roof joint.. Update.. painted the red.. deciding what color to do the kidneys.. black or red.. Not sure if 1mm clearance counts as it “fits” on the front.. the SS cone is considerably longer vs the Blitzer Beetle cone for sure.. I’m going to change to ball mounts for the dampers to get a bit more clearance.. Decided to remove the winch to lower the body as the GF01TR rides considerably taller due to the reduction gears on the axles. Now at the same height as my GF01 (right). Final update for today.. painted indicators and rear lamps, door handles and hinges.

Only the UK called it the Cavalier, and it wasn't only a BTCC car, that car was made for the JTCC. Also the first Vectra that arrived in the UK around 1996 was the Vectra B. 👍 James.
