Well done!  :D

Isn't that a mandatory thing for us at this point? I'm off to do my mandatory purchase in the next 30min to get the brushless setup ordered.

the brushless setup has been ordered, pray to rc i dont decide to get a 2nd brushless setup... HWI38010203 Max10 ESC Combo with 3652SL 3300KV Sensorless Motor setup and i saved $ as im using NIMH so i dont think i will hit max continuous amp on the motor.

I made an Instagram page for my stuff. I'm not too clued up on how you generate likes and interact with folk to be honest.

I just usually posted on here and sold on eBay.

I could do with a hand getting started. I would gladly accept any advice on how to go about the above.

If you feel kind enough to give me a follow, I'm here..

https://www.instagram.com/tamiyaworx?r=nametag

Use lots of RC/car related # tags, that will attract people (people also follows # tags, the more you use the more people will get your picture in their feed).

Example:
#rccar #rccars #rchobby #tamiya #tamiyarc #tamiyaescort #tamiyaescortmk2 #fordescort #fordescortmk2 #escortmk2

Got most of the GF01 Land Cruiser built. All the Yeah Racing stuff is fitted, the R31 rims and slicks are on and I’ve roughed up a plan to seat Kumamon 😆

Might do a build thread if anyone is interested.

Went back to work for the first time since 11/2/21. Serious long term back problems. Not cured but I need to try and work for a bit to see if I can deal with it without painkillers. If not it’s Mac the knife!! So no TC stuff today☹️ But I’m off tomorrow 😄

How was your day, @Busdriver?  I too just back from the office.. such a long yet fast day it was.

This morning before heading out, I painted Billy's Beetle door handles on the inner side near the door cups as I was not thinking clearly and made the handles in a D shape where it was supposed to be shaped more like a banana with an open arch on the inner side.  It's already glued onto the door, so decided to just paint it.  I also adjusted the front body post length (no longer a unicorn) and re-did the rear body post mount adapters on the body side as I used the wrong thickness styrene sheet (was too thin) and sprayed them black.

Also received the slicks for my GF01 so tried them on.  Looks okay.. needs a street stance to make it look right so I'll work on that later after finishing a few cars.

If I have any energy left tonight, I will paint the window trims on the Beetle before heading upstairs to watch some TV..

Update.. of course I live to RC so got the window trims painted.  :D   Now today is complete.

Took out the Terra Scorcher again today for a couple more Postal racing attempts, since I won't get to do any for a few days now, and then kept going for a pleasant free run.

Also went for a spin with the truck

Ah man those videos cracked me up! My son drove the Mad Bull off a kerb yesterday and it flew vertically, nose down 'top of the body first' style (never seen anything like it tbh) into a fence post, smashed the back end of the shell and broke it. Luckily it's the 'bashing' shell, but my question was the same as yours... "Why so fast!?" ...but then again he is only 4yrs old, so I let the little ****er off!

Well, this is, well, was a brand new shell. She didn't smashed into anything, I did (see my build diary for why) but she just got carried away thinking this is her little 370 powered SU-01 where she can do full throttle donuts. Well, back to her little car next time. I really do need to get a second controller so she can drive at the same time as me.

My summer Blackfoot purchase has turned out to be some work. The Thorp rear end was in excellent condition as were the Trinity shocks. The original Blackfoot body had taken, what I can only assume, a really bad jump because the cab was broken in multiple spots and basically unfixable. I attempted to fix it, but decided it was never going to work based off the overall condition, so I chopped the cab off. There it sat, until I finally just tossed it in the garage trash. It sat for about a day and I finally was determined to do something with it because I just wanted this Blackfoot to be an occasional runner and I hated to toss the body. First fix was a newly printed tailgate (and some body mounts) that was available on thingiverse, which turned out fairly well. Then I messed around with a roll cage "cab" build in Fusion 360. This took a few days to mess with off and on, in between breaks at work and lunches. Finally printed it in petg and it ended up fine (not the prettiest). It feels like it'll handle flips/jumps and some general bashing so I think I'll leave it as is.  Last on the list to update/print are the axle retainer K parts since the originals are cracked.

Up next, camo Billy’s helmet, cut and install the windows, install lamps, solder new leads to the motor to rid green yellow eye sore..  and still a few more steps to go..

Update, touch of red/orange this time to match the exterior red..

IMG_Oct62021at113850AM.jpg.9f626f8001f5e82f6a06ccad9e9ed60e.jpg

Update.. getting closer..  I should’ve done another round of putty on the cone, but I’m not a perfectionist so it’s fine.

IMG_Oct62021at40003PM.jpg.788c81edddcacec164716e1bb769771a.jpg

Update.. Minor tweaks needed, but basically completed.

That's looking really good IMHO, what are those tires?? They look grippy and awesome and I think I need some in my life.

I just installed these Traxxas tires earlier today... can't wait to see how it drives without flat spots

Ordered a Marui Galaxy wing as that is missing from the Galaxy RS that I still need to tidy up, and a Coors melling Thunderbird body.

I have a 4WD HSP Himoto buggy that I wanted to sell, but there is no interest in it.
Given that the Thunderbird is the same chassis as the Shogun, the body should fit on the HSP buggy chassis that is similar in wheelbase and width.

Nice combo for a retro runner body on a modern chassis. ^_^

Also trying to make writings on the tires and failing. It always wipes off, even after hours... See the pen I used... Any tips on this? I want to make notes like which insert (inside) and also achieve cool scale looks on the outside. Like the latest kuhfarben builds. Maybe truck Norris, if u read this, can you give a hint what you use? Thx guys.

The ‘Pilot Super Color Permanent Ink, Extra Fine’ seems to be the go-to. I used some generic pen from eBay but the nibs are too soft really and break up quickly.

I beg to differ. The masking on the 'kidneys' on the bonnet and indeed the whole lot looks flawless.

Haven’t had time to do anything rc related since my last post so today I decided to change that, went to the hobby shop and got myself an esc and receiver for the super avante I preordered :D. Need to figure out what motor I want to put in it and I’ll be all set for when it arrives :).

What kind of material are you gluing?  If it's styrene based I use Tamiya's standard plastic cement (orange cap).  It sets in about 2min and cures rather quickly.. full cure takes a good 24 hours depending on how much cement you applied.

If it's more like the bumper material I'd drill a hole in the pipe and screw it onto the other parts.

Ah yep, sure enough they're discontinued. Love that tread pattern though.

So far are the Traxxas tires have been driving great too. Almost too much traction on pavement (grip rolled a few times) but I think they'll be perfect on dirt.
