Didn’t do much RC today, spent most of my day relaxing in my new music room.  :D

I did sand one of the last military themed Willy’s I will make today.  He will be assigned to drive the XR311.  I have no other plans to build another military vehicle for the time being.  I will probably paint a civilian Willy to drive my upcoming new City Turbo, Bruiser, and maybe a CC02 down the road.

Looks a great match in the pic. Look forward to seeing the finished article!

(orange is my favourite colour but because my son chose it for his I went another way!)

Go easy on the kerbs, rocks, furniture etc... 😂

Cheers @BuggyDad, orange is one of my fav colours, plus I've gone a bit nuts on yellow on some of my other cars (and yellow isn't even particularly one of my fav colours, however it just looks so good with grey, be it light or dark grey it just works! And I do like a good grey!). So yeah orange is welcome here!

Not sure how well the dye with hold up to scratches and knocks, but I'll soon find out as this car is destined to be a basher!

Another well beyond reasonable finishing time at 0245.

For the upcoming M-06 build.

Finished the stickering of the NSU body.

And finished the painting of the Ghia.

@alvinlwh I bought one of those NSU's to get the M05 kit for a Mini build. I was just going to sell the body but they do look pretty good in the Jägermeister livery.

I got the NSU as the basher shell for the M-06 as I feel the Ghia is just too nice to crash in, and it has too many easy to break parts hanging off it. The NSU is more crash friendly, so to speak.

And while I was doing this my son painted his Ford GT

I'm impressed. He is 13, and it is his first paint job fully alone.

Excellent stuff 👍🏻

And please tell me that was PS59 Dark Metallic Blue as I picked a can of that up on my last visit to a Hobby Shop......

Got my main site comp entry in after work with a day to spare, time for a beer, and take it easy for some time off for a week at last.

Yes it is... PS59 Dark Metallic blue. It's quite nice blue. It was initially targeted for something else, but for the something else, I decided to jump on translucent blue + silver, so it was left unused in my can storage. My son wanted blue, and he decided to go for this rather than the PS16, and I believe it was a perfect choice...

I had one of those about 35+ years ago I used to spray my bmx bikes and it definitely was more controllable than your finger on top of the nozzle!

I've got one but I find it better and more balanced on auto paint tins when I'm doing hard bodies than on the smaller polycarb tins.

I actually made a mistake with that shell, I chopped off the bottom sills under the door. 🙄

Leave the posts 😉👍 it always allows some body/chassis swapping.

Plus it can wind some people up when left sticking 6 foot out😅

I would never had noticed if you hadn't said, just call it a Rally version for extra ground clearance 😉

I see another bonus: you don't damage the roof of the bodyshell in case of roll over :)

That is the reason I no longer cut body posts anymore.

Finished stickering the Ghia. Got to say that body is real classy in black.
