I will not call it best years of my life but rather best years of my working life considering I have a bullying racist sexist manager in the office. Not needing to see him for 2 years is great.
Tamiyastef 1967 Posted January 25, 2022 I will be grateful when we are allowed to go to the office again. We will keep on working from home for 3 or 4 days out of 5 but I found out I liked my job not for my job but for my colleagues. I had not such a good time the last two years...
Tamiyastef 1967 Posted January 25, 2022 But I have a nice boss and friendly colleagues.

Yeah, I think most people are like you. I am an introvert and dislike being around people in general (I'm not shy by any means), even though you'll never notice it as I am good at hiding it. I work for a large investment firm so it is a very socially centric work place. And I travel for business all the time so it just stresses me even more. But my job pays well for my toys so I just suck it up and force myself through it every day. Like the Frog, no guts, no glory. lol
Nikko85 3453 Posted January 25, 2022 Painted the wheels and roll bar of my F100 GF01 monster truck. For the wheels I had to strip the chrome first. Will take better photos tomorrow in sunlight but very glad at how it has turned out. The roll bars will quickly chip, but it's black underneath so it will look fine!
Willy iine 18806 Posted January 25, 2022 Good job, @Nikko85 Thanks to you, I get a lot of compliments on my Willy's PumpkinHead F100 from even non-RC folks.
Lee1075 282 Posted January 25, 2022 Started on my Police SD1. 3D printed the custom made lightbar, well the base and top in grey resin to test fit it. Sits and looks perfect . Just need to sand down the inside a little where the supports were. Tomorrow i´ll start on the clear pieces.

markbt73 5316 Posted January 26, 2022 Had a moment of weakness and ordered a TA02 Lancia 037 kit from Tamico. Probably could have gotten it a little cheaper (free shipping anyway) if and when they come back in stock in the USA, but you know what they say about a bird in the hand...
GeeWings 2830 Posted January 26, 2022 Finally got the Jimny shell onto the GF-01 chassis and out for a drive. I’ve added plates on the rollbars for race numbers, the obligatory NoS bottles, reg plates, some extra spots and some metal for the lower bumper. I’ve really enjoyed fiddling with this one. The drive didn’t last long though as it’s 35c here in Melbourne and I’ve got to get the BBQ going soon 🥵 Happy Australia Day all!

As usual a spectacular masking/paint job. What chassis is it on and who makes the body. I think it the best Mk1 I’ve seen? 1

Cheers mate 👍🏻, It’s a L&L body, but came up on a well known Aussie seller’s eBay shop so went with them rather than risk it coming half way around the world. I started with this one.. https://landlmodels.co.uk/collections/rally-car-bodies-190mm-200mm/products/mk1-escort-body-shell-kit-190mm I think there are other liveries available to now. Its on the TT02 chassis (set at 251mm W/B) from my MK2 GT kit, as the TT02R I had originally planned for the Escort got stuck sitting in Belgium for months. So looks like the GT will be upgraded to an R now it’s arrived 😁.

Willy iine 18806 Posted January 26, 2022 (edited) Paint is still wet, but Willy’s body will look like so.. Pushing to get Willy painted today.. mou chotto.. Finale for today.. Ran into a hiccup at the very end where the mounting nut inside Willy’s helmet cross threaded and started spinning inside his neck. I could not tighten nor unscrew his head off so ended up carefully tearing his head off the nut and modified his neck to glue onto his body.. Wasted about 30 minutes, but all good now.. Goudar 526 Posted January 26, 2022 Get last touchs on two drivers, one for my Bear Hawk and the other one for a futur project. First try to model something with the Tamiya putty, I added the visor on blue helmet.

Frankster 2033 Posted January 26, 2022 Need some advice. Looking to mask headlights on a kit that does not have any light buckets. Intention is to use kit decal headlight lenses but remove them in the future once I figure out a solution. Due to the shape and size I need to use liquid mask. Trying to do this on the cheap if possible and want to avoid buying a bottle when I won’t be using this much. I have seen videos of people using simple Elmer white glue for static models. Will this work on RC cars with polycarbonate bodies and polycarbonate paint?

Funny you should ask… My daughter wanted some PC sheet painted recently and we used Elmer glue (it was the pure white stuff not the fancy slime making stuff) and then sprayed primer on it (Vallejo I think). It did a pretty good job but I did remove the glue very quickly after painting.

Looks great Thanks.. problem for me is I honestly cannot see exactly where I’m painting even through my magnifying lens with light ring.. so these are some of the last ones I will be making as my vision progressively worsens. So, do all your painting while young.

Some heat gun to assist in the contouring.

It’s more or less like a permanent contact lense and is a simple procedure. 1
