Also met a guy a while back who had a biodiesel caddy he was running off oil from restaurants or grease or whatever. With 2 huge tanks in the back. He could do 3,000 miles with full tanks. It was nuts. You may have seen the guy in LA I think it is, who made a Tesla battery powered microbus I think it was.
JeffSpicoli 1363 Posted March 3, 2022 I'm bidding on the Newman Porsche and the VW Golf. The Golf is by no means showroom mint but if I clean it up a bit it will be decent and get a body shell. It certainly ain't gonna sell for $1000. I gotta get back to Trainboard, I'm in the midst of a 2x4 N scale layout build. Most of my nights are in the train stuff right now.

Busdriver 6209 Posted March 3, 2022 I found out after all these years that the Lancia 037 was in fact a hard body on a proper chassis and not a cartoon like the Audi and Opel!!! Oh dear you all know how much I like a hard body(no sniggering) and I was just about to pull the trigger on an M07 concept to put the Yaris body on for when the incoming Mini Countryman arrives means the M05 drops to 210mm. What to do????🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 1

But, yes, the correct response would be both.

I've realised the best tires will be the original tires from the QD - they are larger than the M Rally tires, but smaller than the Racing Truck, and have a similar spiked appearance of the King Cab - so the search continues! The wheels I've got on the front are quite loose (and don't take bearings) so I may try and search for another QD to take the tires, wheels etc. although this gets away from the £5 bargain! Looking forward to painting it up - it will have a brushless 2030 motor and a 7.4 Li-Ion pack, so should be far too fast for any real use!

Thanks - I've got a baby coming in two weeks, so this will be my last for a while. It's not so much the time as the space and the mess it makes! I've now got five Tamiyas, so I think for a while it will be going to the park to look at ducks, driving around and perhaps slowly upgrading these, nothing too big or expensive. Definitely happy with the collection, it's the genius of only going 1/14 scale - there's nothing much else to tempt me!
Willy iine 18806 Posted March 3, 2022 (edited) Quickly made a stand for my Avante to keep the weight off the tires. Letting it dry for a couple of hours and should be ready to use by this evening. The foam stripe in the center sits inside the Avante’s recessed area of the tray for extra stability. Update.. Tried it out when I got home. Perfect! Tires still make contact but no vehicle weight applied Edited March 4, 2022 by Willy iine

It is always fun to watch your projects as they progress. GL with the baby delivery! Exciting times. I will say I had zero time to watch TV for a full 10 years while my kids were little. Of course I used my time wisely to play with my hobbies in between taking care of them however!

Me neither til I saw your post and looked more closely. Lovely detail and it's very characterful with that unusual nose overhang.

Some fun reading while you wait for delivery! It is one I would have liked but I really am out of space for road cars. Monster trucks and crawlers for me now...oh, and a TD-4 to build. Oops, forgot the 934. And the Escort. Oh, dang it. 1

Nwc100 462 Posted March 4, 2022 Finally got this fitted with electrics this evening, final painting done and a few additional stickers! A really nice kit purchased from @Busdriver and a pleasure to buy from! Had a little drive round the house with it and looks like it could be a lot of fun out on a track, only issue I’ve had is the 66mm batteries I got for it are more like 76mm and just about fit if forced in, probably need to find some around 55 -60mm to make sure they fit nicely. I have another body on the way from Plaza Japan and just need to figure out what colour to do it, in hindsight should probably have ordered two extra bodies! 3
GeeWings 2830 Posted March 4, 2022 @Nwc100That looks fantastic, I do love these. I keep meaning to get one of the Flamingo ones to customise a bit. But the way the body tilts on these is very cool.
JeffSpicoli 1363 Posted March 4, 2022 What would you pay for it? This is the guy who wouldn't set a price in emails. I don't think it's worth $800 in built condition, no decals, body looks to be showing its age. https://www.ebay.com/itm/224865016412?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D0b3d396604dd405ab5ef736d18feb2b4%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D224865016412%26itm%3D224865016412%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DTamiya&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A387fe799-9b53-11ec-b05b-1af44186b138|parentrq%3A525be07317f0ab8cc84def00fff13756|iid%3A1
Re-Bugged 10155 Posted March 4, 2022 Took some Photo's of the Terra Scorcher before the weather turns here, then got it dirty 😁 The TS is a fantastic handling buggy I must say. Ziddan 947 Posted March 4, 2022 Today(and last night) i put togeter my Plasma Edge.2, excluding the body, wing and proper antenna mount, finished at 3am and had to get up again at 6 so i will get on that later today. First ever RC kit for me so it went sorta slow but wasnt at all hard, the only part that had me confused were the two tiny front arm spacers, it showed a "snap" in the instructuctions but really they were just held in place with AW grease until the U pin was inserted. @
