Also it seems that some of the black had managed to get through the masking and can be seen under the yellow.

It's happened to us all dude....

FWIW I'd mask the windows from the outside and flash it in from outside, not ideal but it'd deal with that area. Not sure what else you could do tbh.

@Superluminal I'd peel the film off the whole of the front end. You risk a 'patch' if you only expose that particular area.

Id mask everything but the front end and just patiently build up coats lifting off as you leave the affected area.

Good luck dude, like I say you're not alone.🙂

Today marks one year from the day I joined TC.   I just wanted to say thanks (x100000) to all of you for sharing your time and ideas with me and tolerating a lot of my useless posts.    I will unknowingly continue to contaminate the internets so please bear with me.  Sorry in advance! ..  :D

This morning I worked on 2 of my 1:1 cars, did some maintenance on the snow thrower before storage, and took my other 1:1 car out for a nice drive.  This afternoon was spent doing mostly honey-do's.   After a break, I'm heading to my RC room to wire up 4 more lights on the RC shelf.  Will post pictures later.

I installed lights on the top 2 shelves this afternoon.  While it might not look too different in the pictures below, the before and after is very evident in person.  Especially the white roofs on the Mini’s probably show it best..  :D

BEFORE..

@Superluminal  I would take the approach of using paint remover on the area and re-spray.

I would do the same.  The beauty of polycarbonate painting.  However layered paint is a lot more difficult to match..

Im inclined to leave it now - ive already removed the window masks and can forsee any attempt to rectify it making it worse. As you mention its painted in layers of two different yellows plus the backing colours. If remasking didnt end up removing the paint ive already applied (got that tshirt) then the surrounding body will probably just get darker.

Yellow paint is a pain and as for stripping and re painting isolated areas 😳 !!in my experience very very difficult. Can't tell if you've got the same thickness of paint on till it's dried then it's too late.

Only option if it was me would be to strip all the paint off and start again or.....a big sticker😉

Finished dropping the second hand car down.  Gave it a good clean and reassembled all the parts back together.  Installed missing parts and upgraded to an alum motor mount. Added new electronics, wheels and tires.  Finished cutting body but still need to sand and paint.  Will try to install Avante cockpit

Manta Ray looks better in person than the box art

Nice job, @Ziddan!  Seems to handle real well.  :D

@Yoshimitsu That's a sharp looking Alfa!   Nice job on the paint and decals.  Is this a keeper or are you going to sell it too?

Another very wet run today, this time with the Manta Ray and the Terra Scorcher. The snow was so splotchy that the cars could barely stay afloat, they both got literally soaked. I risked a bit but fortunately no issues (as of now they are dried, cleaned and tested).

Today I also put a new receiver in my TT02 Lancia Delta. The TBLE02S ESC didn't like it and started acting out, I was starting to think the ESC was toast when a quick online research yelded yet one more useful post from this forum. TC really is the best! A quick reprogramming and now all is well.

Put in as much wheel arch as possible to help keep debris out, i think having the back of the front wheel well and front of the back wheel well covered will help a lot.

I bought some decals for my old 200mm CLK GTR which I bought used, cut by previous owner.  Decided to make it a D2 car for TT02 spec racing.

And I found this a month or two ago, a BMW M1 body which actually looks good.  Comes from Germany, bought a few copies to lower individual shipping cost.  If you also live stateside and have been dreaming of one, message me.  I'm going to race one on a TA05 IFS, developing a BASF decal set from 1/24 decals very soon.

Hopefully I'll get a little break this week and get these painted for the next local racing event.
