Today I started on the strip down and rebuild of my old Baja Champ. It's been sat in the loft for about 20 years. Stripped it down today ready for the clean up tomorrow. My trusty helper was with me as well!

That's all finished now. Just some tidying up to be done and go and give it a run. Am hoping to find a new bodyshell for this soon.
Also noticed hat those tyres are fantastic for getting the cat hair out of the carpet!

Now what to do next :-)

Just a test fit, but like this..?

Update.. I decided to keep the tinted windows as I didn’t want to loose the box art appearance.  But I think it looks pretty cool in real life as my 1:1 cars are also tinted.  I can still see the driver inside.

Looks like a complete other car with two shocks up front.

Love this! Winger and big wig shocks. Peak hot shot chassis IMO

Nice. I was wondering how you'd flatten him out. Revive RC could get a seat back in there but not a whole lot else. Maybe there's hope for arms yet.

Thanks, I pasted your post here as the Gallery-Only thread you're not supposed to post any words.  :D   I used 0.020" thickness plasticard and heat to make the torso.  Then just the top part of the SandScorcher steering wheel.

Gah. It must have been late last night...

I blame the internet outage that _forced_ me to use my phone :D. Now "fixed".

This morning I took my TD-2 and Super Hotshot to the track. Great fun driving both cars. My previous race car was a B6.3 which I only sold last year when I pre-ordered the TD-2. Although the TD-2 is only set up as per the manual, I would say that I could get similar lap times with it compared to the B6.3. Now, I'm not saying it would win any National titles, but for me, at club level, it's more that competitive enough.

I bought this blue cart from Amazon a while back, and since I want all my Willy’s accessories to be self-built, I decided to crack open the Willy’s accessories building kit again to start the project this morning.

IMG_2022-4-29-085506.jpg.662979bfa37bc5b62f3a28bb98231be3.jpg

Update.. the black antenna posts are a bit too light for this cart.. might wrap it with something if it bothers me.

IMG_2022-4-29-144136.jpg.f37858fdcc30c3716c2bce9cca168190.jpg

Update… Wrapped the posts with a rubber tube.  Looks the part now.  :D

I’ll hit it with some paint later this evening.

Update.. shot it with some red!  :D  I actually re-did the top tray ledge before paint.. the butting joint would just not glue properly so.. no reason not to redo it

This sorta reminded me of a mini golf course, it would be fun to drive an RC car on a mini golf course now that I think of it :)

Took the mystery BOX with drift wheels out for a drive. Halfway through the drive, one wheel got jammed. Turns out that a broken bolt had stopped the wheel from turning. Sure hope that bolt is not from the car... 😁

Today i took the Sand Hopper out for its first run.

Great fun, i set up one of the old Racing by Post tracks to have something to drive beyond just around on the gravel.

The front is pretty planted with the double wishbones even with just the pogos, the rear end does what it says on the tin, hops a lot :P

Its never far from donut town, throws a bit of a rooster tail when throttle is pinned unless its very nearly at top speed already.

Even after running around at high throttle for quite a while the motor was cool to the touch, i think thats because the thing is pretty light.

I was looking through some of my boxes and found this old technigold motor I have.  I can't even remember when I got it.

I really like the look of this thing. Proper scale cab look. This model passed me by, yet I can see that great condition examples can be had for not much money. How does it drive and is there decent spares availability?

There you go.

This is just an experiment to see if it will work or no and if it does not (or I do not like it), I will revert it to 2WD and get 2 chassis out of it, one FF and one MR.

Up to this point, I have to say I love it, runs even better on rubber tyres (but wear them down really fast!).

Changed the wheels to Blitzer’s.  Nice contrast to the blue body.  Had to change to wider front axel carriers6BE176D7-2899-49B4-920A-4A2CB715A578.jpeg.c483c197602410dd0752692fba459742.jpeg1B71B7BC-D3FB-4146-A051-F923C4E78AD6.jpeg.3ddb138d912cbc42a3fe20dd9c688bf3.jpeg
