The eagle eyed will notice I've inadvertently ordered and applied the wrong sized decals.

Aaaaand, now I need to take them off reorder and re-apply.😬

2:40am now and a major breakthrough.  The last update was over 7 weeks ago and fixed a major roadblock.   Biggest problem was connecting the rear servo to the rear steering assembly.  Many options were review and 3D printed with the help of @Ziddan

A. Existing factory damper tower

B. Tamiya carbon damper tower

C. 3D printed.  Scale was off

D. 3D printed  same as C but at proper scale

E. Same as D but with larger opening for proposed bell crank

F. @Ziddan suggesting to have opening to hold the servo.  This works but I wanted to make the damper towers corners lower to give the car more ground clearance.

G1 / G2 are the same   G1 is rear tower for servo, G2 front tower did not need opening for a servo.

Overall many trial and errors to get to this point (not to mention the costs for 3D printing)1376773B-3ABC-44C5-9FFD-695EC3629C97.thumb.jpeg.f8c68f15d419f33a78bdfb148e124c71.jpeg

Update.. Basically I am done with the car; I will do a few minor adjustments including cutting the drive axle that is sticking out beyond the wheel nut on the front, suspension tuning, and a few other items.. and do a proper photo shoot.  The stance is perfect with the non-staggered setup.

I love this car!  :D

Thanks again @nicherotorsfor sharing your talents!!!

Thanks Jamesssb!!   I heard from @nicherotors you two worked on this together.  Amazing work.  Thanks again, I am extremely grateful and honored.

I posted cleaner photos in the pictures only thread if interested.

I do need to trim the rear body posts on the bottom side under the cage.  :D  I will replace that front photo with another one later.

Next step, need to find solution to mount the body to the chassis.  Overall it is a mix of Blitzer and Monster

Made (?) more like just cut a piece of plasticard to make a splitter for the nicherotors Wheeler.   Also painted a NOS bottle which will also be installed on the car later today.  :D

IMG_2022-6-18-143335.jpg

Update.. Going to work on the splitter next while the brushed paint dries.

Final picture for the day.. left is the nicherotors Wheeler, right is the original Willy’s Wheeler.   The car looks so much better with the splitter.  :D  .. well, for me that is..

I have seen some impressive scale garages on this forum, but your scale stadium puts them to shame! 😁

I fixed the steering on my DT-02 so there is almost no bump steer.

Most of the bump steer I have left is from the steering 'C' carrier attachment point making the upper turnbuckle arm shorter.  I have a 3d version of the steering I worked up on the way from the 3D printers to see if I can offer it online.

I have finished the M-05 chassis and only have the electronics and bodywork left. The transmission and steering is buttersmooth. This must be fun.

Today I spent time relocating rc stuff and buying more parts (that I probably don't need, but why not) I keep getting parts in and have lots of rc stuff to do but haven't had much time or ability to do it :(, spent last few weeks finishing unfinished home renovations for Mrs. Llama and moving myself out. So as I move back into my old place I have no rc workbench yet and one of my cars serves as my rc truck storage for now , all the cars and f1 fit in boxes so they get a proper shelf till I set up a new storage place.

IMG_2286.thumb.jpg.0f90c24c06b848c895d0bf33480aca81.jpg

While moving stuff my dad and I came across his Tamiya f150 and original Blackfoot with a stadium truck body he painted to match the monster truck, and an original new in box Blackfoot body.

I went cross eyed putting these finicky little beggars on so they don’t end up looking like screwed up Quality Street wrappers..

Half a medium sized Zip Tie had just the right amount of suppleness to work them into  where they need to be.

Having a cuppa now while resting the eyes before doing some more.

@Re-Bugged just thinking about that gives me eye strain ;)

I’ve just got back from a trip with the kids to the snow for a few days. Was great fun with plenty of tobogganing and a snowball fight or five for good measure. After a rough few weeks it was great to see some smiles on their faces.

While I was bored in the hotel room at night I might have done a bit of internet shopping 🤫 I purchased a WW2 and a cheap used GF01. The plan is to run the WW2 body on the GF01 with @simensays custom spacers and the custom wheel rims so I can run on hex and with repro sand tyres. While I was on Shapeways I purchased a few other bits too ;)

The spare WR02 will be used for another custom project using one of the Tandy/Taiyo/Radio shack shells I’ve accumulated.

Is that the monster jam? I had tickets for that way back when the week that f@#$$×g virus closed us down:angry: for the first time so they just refunded me! I was in new York in 2019 and I'd just missed it by a day there aswell that's why I booked it in the UK I'm not sure if it's the same show are just franchised (European versions?) Looked to be pretty good back then and well organised :D was it good as it looked?

I definitely peaked with my sticker endurance today.

The fun in the snow sounds great 👍🏻 It’s been a while since I’ve seen any of that.

Yes it is the GT40 👍🏻 and to think I’ve only scratched the surface of the sticker sheet not going box art too. The 2 sheets of them to look forward to if you do.

I’m on the home straight now though 😁, servo to fit, bind to the receiver, and attach the ESC and finally done.

@Re-Bugged Oh man, can’t wait to see the finished car.  :D

Huh, you actually cut out the individual decals with the backing!  I’m so lazy I just cut the decals on the backing sheet and end up with an empty sheet of backing at the end.
