Well.. so with precision eyeball measurements and mostly hope, I am making a light cross brace to mount Billy on my M01’s Cooper Body.. I’m also thinking I should do this Mini-yonku in a Willy color scheme. what do you all think? Top matte black, body olive drab with factory orange decals, gunmetal bumper and roll bar.. matte black fender flares.. gunmetal wheels. Update, the high precision eyeballed bracket with gaps is ready for paint tomorrow.. Edited June 28, 2022 by Willy iine

Wrinkly beetle 98 Posted June 28, 2022 11 hours ago, Willy iine said: @Wrinkly beetle Nice~! CF decks and bits look good! I wish Kyosho would also sell these rere's in that package with everything CF included for the Optima and Javelin. It's really us older guys buying them anyway, right? We'll pay the extra if we want them.. just make it convenient for us so we don't have to do any research. Oh, and don't forget to include the screws.. @Willy iine This XtraSpeed carbon set for the Optima/Javelin from RCMart looks pretty good. Cheap too at $55 and actually available unlike most parts from Kyosho. Glenn from Tamiya Legends has a video of it on the Javelin. https://www.rcmart.com/xtra-speed-carbon-upgrade-set-for-kyosho-optima-xs-om27003-00068011 2
Ferruz 11702 Posted June 28, 2022 Today I had part 2 of the dental thing, and spent the rest of the day force-resting indoors. I worked a bit on the Manta Ray, some clean up and general maintenance. I found those ball ends to be worse than my tooth 😅 they needed replacement pronto, see the difference with the new one.. Much better now The buggy is ready to hit the dirt again, and should be good for a while or at least up until the next hard front crash, lol. I am planning on a radical facelift soon anyway, the car has seen a lot of action and deserves one. New gearboxes and bearings, and even a new chassis is on the way. But for as long as it holds, I'll keep it going as is
Nikko85 3454 Posted June 28, 2022 I ordered 20 pairs of t plugs to convert my cars. Won't need 20 pairs but spares are always nice. I have no issue with the Tamiya ones in terms of current, as I don't run anything that hard, but I do find they are rather large for some of my 1/14 sized builds, hard to remove with one hand under a body and having to buy pre wired tamiya ones leaves me with little choice on AWG when changing connection on ESC or battery pack. Plus t plugs are much cheaper. It'll be a long few hours with all my cars late into an evening. Will also tweak a few ESCs as they are open.
Willy iine 18806 Posted June 28, 2022 (edited) Tamiya plug are huge! Good for aging eyeballs. After a quick cool down from finishing my early am house chores, going to paint the bracket for Billy this am before work. I think I'm also going to paint the Gambol's roof since it's also matte black. Update.. parts painted, will install Billy after work. Update.. finished installing Billy in the M01. More pictures in the gallery only thread. Thanks for looking. Now the car does not look autonomous while driving.. lol Edited June 28, 2022 by Willy iine
Juhunio 6830 Posted June 28, 2022 Thanks to Mrs J, just had a great morning’s craic in this beauty Torrential morning rain meant the first stage (6 laps) were VERY wet and slippery, but an hour of sunshine and wind saw the track dry out and made the second stint HUUUUUUGE fun 🤩 Inspired to build my MF-01X when I get home now 😃
YelloMello 99 Posted June 28, 2022 Today I installed the Sport Tuned motor in my current Novafox project and took the opportunity to solder the longer wires of the stock motor to it. Now everything has a little more space. I love the Novafox already because it is such a nice classic 2WD Buggy and the black and gold motor looks really nice. The test drive was also o.k. Nice performance for such an "old dog" Next step is body work. I am not sure if I should go box art.

tamiya_1971 615 Posted June 29, 2022 I’ve been horribly busy this year and have barely touched anything rc. Every time I felt like it was the right time to mess with rc, something happened. Took two weeks of vacation, one at the beach and the other at home. While at the beach, I ordered a Tekno MT410. Been wanting one for a while and the price has dropped nicely. Hope to start the build in a few days. Cleaned up my rc area in the garage today. Absolute pit. While cleaning, ran across a brand new Ramtech Trophy Truck body for my HPI Baja, tucked upside down on the garage fridge holding other “to do” bodies. Tore into it and got it mounted. Now just need to buy what may end up being 4 cans of paint. Just have to decide on colors.
tamiya_1971 615 Posted June 29, 2022 Just an extra addition. I mentioned in some thread here about my late step father-in-laws rc collection and how his kids finally picked the items up about 4-5 years later. I found a few parts they had no interest in but ran across a couple Parma Hemi Coupes that I saved from my mother-in-laws home after a tree went through the house. Sitting in a wet box in the wet basement. They are dusty and wreak of cig smoke, but I’ll make this a future cleanup project. Both have different chassis’ so I’ll need to do some research.

Willy iine 18806 Posted June 29, 2022 Putting together my Gambol today.. looking at the blue in the decals, olive drab may clash so not sure what the paint theme is going to be yet.. What impressed me thus far is the copper terminal part stamping by Tamiya. Very clean. Update .. I finished the Mini-Yonku .. After noticing the decals are paper backed decided to just do box art as I cannot cut the decals without introducing the white edges and potential tears.. It’s a great looking truck, I think. I used TS matte black on the roof, TS gunmetal on the bumpers wheels, and roll bar.. rear bumper I just mixed some silver and black enamel to achieve the gunmetal color.

Hi @Ziddan would it be easier to use the regular TT-02 suspension and arms? Just look at the TT-02T truck manual on how to raise the suspension. https://www.tamiya.com/english/rc/rcmanual/tt02t.pdf
