How do you attach the driver mount to the Lexan body?

I've wanted to do it a few times, but I've always been afraid of damaging the paintwork.
It's so much easier with hard bodies.

I use 3M 06835 mounting tape.  It holds very securely, yet I can still remove the tape if I need to reposition it or what not without damaging the polycarbonate paint.

If you have a light colored car you may want to use clear or white mounting tape.  On the Mini's the gum ball decals can cover up most visible bleeds.   I paint my bodies pretty thick so no issue regardless.  Hope this helps!  

Anothet tip, if anyone cares, is I tape the inside doors to prevent scratches from the battery cover or wire or any contact with the inner side of the body.  I just use clear packing tape as you can see in that picture above.

Okay, so looking back at my snake plant.. what the heck did I start?    It's going to take a while to paint both sides of those leaves..  

 

Well, at least I have some time before my Optima Mid arrives next week.. lol.  I blame @Tumbi.   I don't have space so I decided to post a sign on my older kid's bedroom door "Willy's RC Shop coming soon!"   

I also ordered Kyosho's CF bits and their turnbuckles.. will run my usual Savox 1252MG, 1060, SuperStockBZ (got another one to swap out the SportTuned in the Javelin), Spektrum receiver..

.. okay going to work on Billy's snake plant next.

And you've got to get all the veins in the leaves just right too, otherwise it just won't look real, right??

Yeah it’s going to be a long afternoon!  Great job on the Porsche!  Beautiful.   

 

For me.. worked on soil this morning.  

I will rid the gaps at the very end.. while the cement is drying going to paint the leaves..

Masking the Golf MK1-body for the M-05 with one of my 1:1 Golf MK1 in the background. It's going to be Park Green. In the real world I prefer more subtle colours on cars.

I made a start on one of my City Turbos. Was hoping to get more done but missing supplies and work calls got in way. 

Took apart the gearbox to fit bearings, fitted new motor and added CVDs too…

Crimped connectors onto my hobbywing 1080 and reconnected all the wiring for another test. Now my transmitter controls both the motor (forward and reverse the correct way around:)) and the servo at the same time.

The lexan sheet I bought from Tamico, they have different thickness of lexan sheets, Conrad sells them to, 1.5mm was the thickest they got it was very hard to cut with an lexan scissor.
