@Willy iine cool idea with posters!  I've been thinking about them too, by the way, something with a slight vintage feel, in a few colors (not full colors) with racing stripes.  Also, for fullness of the picture, you can add some workbench near rhe wall to create a working environment of the boxes.  The installation should tell the story of what it depicts.

Took the comical hopper out for a drive. First on tarmac, got a few road rashes from traction rolls. Realised it is school holidays and some school halls are not in use so took it inside.

Going with one of JConcepts ones. Been back and forth between their snoop-nose Silverado and the '93 F250 but I think I'm going to go with the 250. Love the extra fastback and visor parts it comes with.

That's the one I bought for my monsterized CR-01. Paired with SMT0 wheels and tyres too at the moment! Body is trimmed, yet to be painted...

Thanks!  For the time being I went ahead and just cleaned up the area to take a few pictures of the display without the walls.  The sheets won't arrive until Sunday so I still have some time to fiddle around.

I had my pretend-artist son looked at it and he said the clock on the pillar makes the back openings look like large glass windows.. which can work.  I cleaned up the shelf in the background (which are brand new, just got done putting those together this week) to minimize clutter.

I guess I will post up a couple more pictures in the gallery-only thread since I worked kinda hard on it today..  :D

I’m auditioning several display setups.. ignoring the card board back wall which will be replaced by a matte gray wall, would you prefer with or without the tiles?

I wanted to get ghost checkers for the floor tiles, but there is none available so decided to trial black and white..

I might also consider gray or black tile boarders.. or go narrower on the red..

Another option to go without the back wall..

Want to test a smoked mirror so people can see the underside?   Kinda like at an auto show when they elevate the car and have mirrors on the base so people can see the suspension / underside

I put long front shocks on the Super Madtute. This is a subtle pic of them, but there's more in my build thread.

Yeah, that’s a good idea.  I can fit a mirror under the comical ClubBug as it’s on jack stands..  :D

@naturbo2000 Nice work on the MadCap!  Are those HotShot wheels or Kyosho.. or.. (?)  Looks good.

They're 2.2" Ultima-style wheels from JC Racing in the UK. Rears require narrow hexes to expose enough axle thread to keep them on (I have 4mm which are fine). Fronts require 850 bearings and 2mm M5 shims (I used a 1mm shim on the inside and outside of the wheel.

Love the”revolver wheels”.  Bronze wheels and covering the battery compartment is a nice touch

My son mentioned that I should get some scale neon lights for the vintage vibe for the walls.   :D

Maybe do some underglow cathodes or something silly.

Do it!

Low rider and add hydraulics to make it dance 🤔.   Any one try this with an RC car before?

The wife and I took the RC cars out to a local country park this afternoon. It wasn't without issue, as the Lunch box was playing up, something's up with the Etronix ESC I think. And having installed a Torque Tuned motor in the Monster Beetle only just last night, after 15mins run time today the dreaded clicking gearbox reared it's ugly head. It has the gear box brace fitted and it's only a blimmin' TT motor, but that appears is enough for the gearbox to start it fail. Good job I ordered the MIP ball diff conversion kit a while back. That will be installed sooner than planned then😂

On a lighter note, it was still fun and...

Since about November last year maybe, I've been gathering the parts for a 2018 Super Astute build, with custom elements as well as original. Today I received the last parts needed and boxed the whole lot up for a future date for the build.

Below is an example of a parts bag pieced together, bag A:-

ZomVPkz.jpeg

I have the complete kit now, so that will be fully built, including original shell in box art. However, to scratch the creative itch I will put together a version with a set of VQS hi-caps, Revive RC shell in custom paint and stickers, blue Stardish wheels and full carbon chassis and shock towers. If it fits I'll also be adding an Avante driver, which should be displayed well with the unimpeded wrap around cockpit of the Revive RC Astute shell.

I think I'll nip over and create a build thread with a few more photos, but the actual build for this will likely be a way off at the moment.

Nice, @Kol__!  Are those blue wheels telling signs of possible blue/xxx color scheme?  :D   Can’t wait to find out what you do.

Those hi-caps make a world of difference appearance wise.   Nice choice.

Cheers @Willy iine, yep the blue will be one of the main colours. I haven't done a blue themed buggy yet, it's been reserved for this build:D
