I don't think there has been one on here but there is an ongoing build over at the SBG

That’s what he calls himself actually taken from my ‘pretend’ RC shop.

He’s actually quite good artistically winning state level art competitions along with pencil sketch and digital art. He does professional web design during his free time from high school… but he is just a hobbist he says and therefore a pretend artist.

The various comical art work you see on my RC (custom decals) and artwork on the walls of my pretend RC shop are by him.

Based on the quality of your work I would suggest the artistic talent may be genetic!

Today ive remixed, printed and painted up a head for the driver of my Desert Scorcher:

IMG_20220806_124812.jpg.aa177d90ceba368292062f275a71cf5e.jpg

And, with the exception of a number plate, finished it up with an oil wash(a couple of days ago), painted the lights+driver body and done the assembly.

Built a Mini 4WD with my girl.

Found that the comical hopper is too big for my usual storage boxes so above the door it goes.

I was teaching my daughter to control the rc at speed.  From the photo, it may seem that it was unsuccessful😁 But the problem turned out to be a unscrewed servo-saver ...

I found a 1/15 scale Toyota body, so I am going to fix it up like a little Kyosho Double Dare!

enUJTs4.jpeg

This is on a Radio Shack chassis, but I may look at a QD, WR02 or GF01 (which would be ideal but I've already got two). The current chassis it's on is being used by the beetle, but they are quite plentiful on eBay and I do have a little brushless combo going spare for some extra zip were I to get a another.

Today it was painted white. Tomorrow it will get the red and blue and clear.

I started.

And stopped at the point I needed to make ball diffs. Too late and too tired for that.

You know a build is going to be odd when page 1 has you install the motor.

Finally grabbed some scrap wood and built that bridge I always wanted in the crawler garden.

Still have some rock to piece together for the other side of the bridge.

That looks super-scale.  Awesome work @RC Perspective!!

For me, continued on organizing my pretend RC shop today..  I think I got a fairly good grip on how the room should look.  Will do some more work tomorrow.

A fix it day today for me…

The latest Racing by Post now has the option to run at night, for an additional bonus lap to your count. So armed with some glow sticks for markers and 3 vehicles that are equipped with lights I headed out to a vacant car park to compete.

So first of the grid was the MK1 Escort..

C5F300CF-971F-41CD-BA19-86FCE6FFA48C.md.

Things we’re going great in practice laps, but then a few laps into the timed session the car became unresponsive to the Tx. TBLE 04 was flashing red as if it was the overheat protection.

This morning I realised it’s fitted with a cheapo MG996 servo that other people have have trouble with before. I’ve now put an old well used TBLE 02 in it and is working fine again so if it goes again it’s likely to be the servo causing the problem. If it does then the servo will get binned before risking a HW 1080 ESC in it.

With one car out of the running that night, next up was the Porsche..

36BFA7C9-45A7-402F-A4CD-6517315ECE02.md.

Again all going well, started the timer, then steering was lost 🙄. Plugging in a spare servo when I got home showed that it was the installed New Power one that had given up the ghost. Honestly what’s the chance’s of 2 cars out of action in quick succession? A new Power HD is now fitted and seems battle ready once again.

The latest circuit is a nice big layout so this was a perfect opportunity to stretch the legs on my 3rd vehicle outside the confines of the house for a change

DF0C893F-406E-4E77-8AA4-10A12572C5F3.md.

What a joy to see & hear the Knight Hauler chugging around to complete the race where the other two temporarily failed 😁 It’s the first time I’ve given the big rig a proper run, and it definitely won’t be the last 👍🏻

Actually a lot better than I thought it would as only took along for a giggle really. Just as well I did as the other 2 cars I took where having issues. The sound adds to it of course. I’ve read about diabolical turning circles of these trucks but I couldn’t complain as it hooked around the circuit quite fine 👍🏻

The1/14 double dare starts to take shape. The RS chassis fits so perfectly it's hard to spend more on another.

It also looks good with the Edgarmon so I will have to get another!

Vs the Clod, it's 1987 again..

Today I decided to do experiment: I'm printed 2 rims for 1/10 scale with sla abs-like resin. Someone says, this material toughness enough for 1/10.

For reference used Fifteen Turbomac 52 rims from cults3d, with minor modification. In my opinion, this model is not very well made in terms of durability. But this will be the point at which I will try to assess the suitability of the resin for use on this scale.

That looks great!  Are you able to use different color resins or able to paint/dye them?

Some plastics hate adhering to paint so just wondered..
