Actually yesterday, but I got my Avante Black out for a run on the Racing By Post track. Turns out I forgot to threadlock a single metal-on-metal screw - the one holding the servo horn on... The run was cut short, but no damage done.

Nice Avante.  What wheels are those?

@Willy iine how about this approach for your Mitsubishi.   Just remove the chassis all together and take a quick photo

😅

Nice!  The issue I have with the CC01 is it won’t go down so low… I don’t think (?)

That said, I bought a Kyosho RTR classic Skyline Hakosuka 2000 GT-R . which has nothing to do with this project.  :D   Hope to get it soon..!

Kyosho RS200. They have an official part number, but I bought them in 1991/2 and obviously don't still have the packaging. They were white until I gave them a few coats of Revell 34191 Steel.

The real Kyosho wheels are UM32 and go for silly money.

The ones I have are still rare enough I shouldn't have painted or run then, but whatever; it's not fun unless they move.

Very nice.  Used is pricy.

Surprised there have not been reproductions made.   I hope someone is seeing this message 🤞

John at JC Racing suggested they're on his to-do list.

In yellow are also the OG wheels for the Optima Mid Custom Special and the Lazer ZX, so it's possible we'll see them in a re-re.

Also chrome for the Turbo Ultima, yellow for the Ultima Pro, Pro XL and II.

Today I installed the RZ motor very kindly gifted to me by @Juhunio into my my TA-02.

2022-09-27_01-41-17

I believe this to be the ideal brushed motor for this chassis, not just because it's performance is a good match for the chassis' capabilities, but also because the colours match so well! 😎

So later today, I plan to make a mount for this thing so it hangs from the chassis, not the body itself.

Sorry, looks like I double posted..

Those SuperStock motors are nice.  I’m running BZ’s, but those red RZ labels are definitely nice!  B)

I’ve just put an RZ in my TD4 and on the bench it seems really strong. Hopefully try it out at the weekend.

Great looking motors!! What pinion and spur combination are you running with it?

Hahaha!    I hope I am making @Badcrumble proud..!  :D

So can you make those in 1:1 size? I have a Toyota Levin that would benefit, even if it doesn't add to (or hinders?!) performance it would be a laugh when turning up to the track with all that aero

I love it @Willy iine, that chin spoiler is a work of art! If I didn't have so many project I would be sorely tempted to attempt a copy but I know that my styrene work isn't a patch on yours.

I'd have to paint it white and call it a 'pale imitation'  :D

Looking forward to seeing yours painted up. I hope you feel it has been a fun exercise and injected some new life into your model.

You could use it as a conversation starter! Let's face it: how long could you keep your RC hobby a secret if you meet someone? Or just go when there's less people around...

Not sure I'm that brave to be honest 😄

😅

Oddly enough @Frankster and @Willy iine I have a project in the long queue with a ProLine Silverado body, two TL01 chassis and some big HPI wheels and thin tyres to make a 1:10 version of my son's very low (not as slammed as that photo) Hot Wheels pick-up. One day...

Would love to see the progress.  Question, would you add a servo to raise the body?   Or raise the chassis?

I showed my VP at my money making gig at the office yesterday pictures of Billy’s shop with the garage accessories I made as the VP kept insisting I’m some sort of RC god (which I am not).

He looked at the picture and said “are you f-word 5 years old?!   This thing looks like -a kid’s Lego.”

And I said ‘yeah, that’s right, that’s what keeps me young’.  :D

And he went on “this is f-word awesome!”.

He knows it. RC rocks.  B)

Interesting idea - I'd not considered it as I'd been thinking purely as a low, smooth tarmac-oriented drift truck. I've seen some body-raising work on builds on another site I frequent - will take another look.

Edit: progress is a half-trimmed body and two TL-01s in bits!
