Hey @Gabranth your new body design looks good!   The wide body makes it look like a classic buggy and that's a good thing.  And I like that you used black as it does not scream in your face that it's there, and that it still has the original body vibe.  Real nice.

I'm really into one-off original designs.

Thanks for thinking about me Willy! Fortunately we didn't take any damage from Ian, it turned a little more south before landfall, so spared us the worst. Parts of the area are still flodded months later because of the St John's river; it flows slowly so is slow to shed the flood level.

Between starting a new job back in August (Which fortunately pays well enough to fund more RC fun, while still paying the bills), Dad getting a heart valve and pacemaker days before the hurricane, And adopting a 6 month old black German Shepard puppy, and other things going on, I've been fitting my RCing in between. Unfortunately that hasn't left me much time to post stuff, but I have been taking pics and video of stuff, so I have plenty to upload. We will see if I can get to some of it today.

I've made some upgrades to the 3D printer that seem to have really taken care of alot of issues I have been having with it, loads of aero part tweaks to add some strength to the stuff I've designed, and some other RC upgrades that have increased the fun factor. Also just found a new, freshly paved spot to do speed runs!

So there will be some stuff coming soon to a Tamiya Club near you!

You were very busy!  Glad to hear you were not in the path of Ian.  Hope your dad's doing okay and congrats on the new family member.  :D

Looking forward to your picts in the gallery thread with those new 3D parts!   Take your time.

Speaking of dogs, Willy got a new beagle the other day..

Love it! My last dog was a Beagle/Springer Spaniel mix. I still miss him dearly :/

I still need to look back through the pages to see what other masterpieces you have created!

With the skills you have shown on here, I have no doubt that it wouldn't come out any less than awesome.

Hope and a little heat LOL.

For me, I have a buddy who is a trucker, so doesn't get much time for RCing.

So I'm rescuing an old TT01 of his and rebuilding it for him. It's been cannibalized, and the body is absolute toast.

This is as it was handed to me. (Yes I'll be making a build thread).

It's a shame about the body too. Seems to be worth a bit more now. Though that may just be because there aren't a lot of them left/for sale.

I wrapped my light circuit. Mostly because it looks better down the A-pillars. The new result looks like the shell now has real A-pillars. The IRL effect is as subtle as it appears.

I appreciate that can all come out if (when) I put an interior in, but I'm pretty happy with it in the meantime.

Looks amazing! Great work

Engine mounted to diff and to Chassis.

Gotta say, a few solid hours and you could easily finish it. So trying to enjoy it by going slow 😊

Not much to report but it removed all the decals from my clod ready for its fresh paint job.

Orange suits very well! Usually not my color of choice...but have to admit, that I love this one!... allways wanted the Clod...  My X-Mas gift (35 years ago) was the Midnight Pumpkin... was happy too...but still wanted that Clod :)

Made some iterations on inner fenders for my wrc / speed run project.

The small food tuperware and v2 concept felt best. I will be using inner bike tubes to line the fenders & make mudflaps :)

Front pair is hard mounted to the body already, not pictured yet.

I have been toying with a similar idea. When running on gravel the spray of small rocks is so damaging it's actually eroding through the lower deck of my TT-02. I have been protecting the body with masking tape that I constantly need to replace (every half hour run time basically) else the rocks will eat through the paint. Which solution are you going with in the end? Food container or that "V2" flat piece? Front wheels are the hardest as the spray changes as the wheel steer left and right. Thanks!

@ImALlama Dang, you really take your cars up to fast speeds!  I remember my mod touring car was going over 55mph on a huge track.. in order to actually race with that kind of power (not just doing fly-bys) took some life out of me each time.    I think these days anything over 30mph is fast for me.  Hope you get your cars fixed soon!

I honestly feel the same way, even 30 can be way to fast unless in a very large area. However I obviously make an exception for some speed runs, for reasons I cant explain I feel compelled to see how fast I can get a silvercan powered car to go, and a grasshopper .

Honestly man, I'm more a silver can speed guy these days.  lol.  I just want to see my cars in action and it does not need to go that fast.  Even if my cars can go faster, I don't usually pull the throttle all the way.  I mean I rarely do on a real car right..so why on a RC car.  :D

In the past couple days I took a gamble, and ran the Lancia Delta off road where it belongs, along with some more attempts at the current Postal Racing track. A little worry, but tons of priceless smiles :rolleyes: and luckily enough, the body shell is still pristine (for now... I know.. 😅)

Thanks, the original body is painted black on the side too so it's natural to be the same color. Also helps blending the jointed parts a bit.

A Delta will always move my (VW/Audi) heart. It is just so lovely.

You should get a runner-body and make a road-version. Red is a colour that suits a spicy italian and has good visibility. I remember rally driver, Runar Pedersen, had a red daily in addition to his red rally car when I was a youngster. A neighbour was his mechanic, so I was a curious neighbour . They used my neighbours VW T2b with not exactly lame Type 4-motor to pull the trailer. At least in the beginning. A red Lancia Delta therefore gives me good memories.

@Pylon80 I went with the containers as they are structurally super rigid and a perfect shape directly. V2 larger Lexan sheet idea is probably great to cover a large area but I feel it’ll be a lot of fiddling to get it to sit right, I wanted quick progress. :) It looks and feels like real fenders being individually hard mounted to the body. Very sturdy.

I will be adding lexan, electrical tape and rubber soon to expand the space for the fenders shield.

@Busdriver Thanks :) It was a no brainer for the price and “ease” of making it work. It sort of makes me feel all bodies should have fender liners, seeing through the body isn’t helping anyone in photos 😃.

Added an extra little bit of blue-bling to my TB02-R project, with these aluminium front body mounts (53617)

spacer.png

And then finished stickering the AMG GT3 shell that is currently sitting on it

spacer.png

The shell is really a practice run ahead of doing it again with a bespoke livery design. I wanted to practice paint colour, order and finish and work out which 'stock' stickers will work alongside the bespoke livery. So I'm going to stick this shell on eBay at some point, there are a few tiny mistakes that I will correct on the final iteration.

I'll add a few more pics to the Gallery thread 😃

Ordered an ESC and bearings for the juggernaut. That's all the budget for this month including the juggernaut itself, so all left to do now strip down the car and await the arrival of the bearings...

For me, I made some progress, but was interrupted by work meetings that got moved around which was seriously annoying as my primary reason for waking up every morning is to work on my RC.
