Called my local hobby shop 10 minutes before close last night, they didn't pick up.

Welp, back to Amazon and mail order I guess.

I think I have my Wild Willy color finally nailed down.

Going to try Tamiya TS23 and do a fluorescent yellow paint splatter or 70s retro stripes on the hood.

Now to start building and learning all of the possible performance upgrades that I can put on it so it can sit on a shelf :)

So a major blow this am with my silver Egress project, I got the body ready for paint, pulled my usual PS41 silver (one can near empty and fresh can) and noticed the new can was another silver for my NBR STI, not PS41..

So for the first time in over 10 years, I went to my LHS by car and shopped.. wow, what is this concept? kind of..

I picked up my PS41 and some other stuff in support for local business.   :D

@Willy iine that is fate telling you to stop mucking around with buggies and get on to that NBR :D

I shall keep up my campaign until is it on display...

Really like what you ended up with @Frankster, that Mini looks sweet.

Hope everyone's day has been going well, it's been a cold but fun one for me! Being that I've been waiting a few days for things to dry out, I finally got out to the tennis court this afternoon. I've never had this car on such a smooth and abrasive surface, but doing as such made it a lot more enjoyable to drive! Ended up bringing both batteries with me for double the fun and got in almost an hour of zipping and weaving around :D. With how powerful the new super stock motor is I don't feel this car needs brushless power, but in the near future I might buy a HW 1080 esc so I can program braking and other settings. Tried messing with the rear dampener plate and turnbuckles, but I need to read into a few forums on proper tuning for this chassis. After tonight I'm looking at upgrading the stock servo saver since it is a bit sloppy. Thinking about getting a Kimbrough servo saver, but I also have a hot racing servo saver from years ago that might fit the bill.

Today ive put together the TT02 based 1992 Audi V8 Touring kit, was surprised to see it came with a torque tuned motor, was expecting a silver can, and it also had a carson dragster 70A esc in the box, even tho it was listed as requiring an ESC.

I added bearings (of course) and oil shocks.
Following Mark Bryans TT02 on road vid i did the things recommended to get extra steering angle, the limit now is the dog bones.

Having the wheel arcs on the body pre cut is nice.

Bought it together with a Protoform J71 body+ VTA wheels.

Gonna use the Audi body to test out a rusty body paint effect by doing the inside copper, outside silver then whatever color and sanding through, seen it done and i like to look.

If i get it looking good ill then go on and do sort of a banger/barn find VTA/Classic muscle car with the J71 body.

Will also try 3d printing some wheels/tires which will have pretty much no grip so ought to be good for trying some drifting.

If i take out the front dogbones it should be able to get some more steering angle if i decide to try RWD drifting.

For me, was going to make a few more window trims for my Egress to use in the future, but sliced my pointing finger deeply while cleaning my scissors after cutting Velcro strap for my Egress's body.. ouch!  made me angry for being born stupid.

I was so mad I douced the cut in rubbing alcohol and did my 1:1 car garage injury repair.. CA directly on the cut  (ouch) + masking tape.  I'm back in business.

Going to work on the trims, then clean up shop.. not sure I can play cajon today..probably crack open the wound so will play keyboards in my music room gently..

Hi @Willy iine,

They are Tamiya hop-up parts. I got them from Tamico.de

You have to use the smaller drive hex from the B sprue to fit the wheels.

Part nos.

54832 Spike rear tyres

54833 34mm wheels for above

54830 Slick rear tyres

54831 31mm wheels for above

54823 Chrome front wheel

54841 Soft front tyre with foam insert (looks mostly the same as the kit item, but softer)

54836 Off-road front tyre with foam insert

So for me, cleaned up my RC work desk, applied a few decals on misc Willy accessories, and then binded the receivers to test them out.

I can't seem to find any more Futaba FAAST receivers online (looking for R614FF-E) so I guess I will run the F104 off my Spektrum.. :(  I only have enough receivers to do the 420X and Fantom..

I wanted to keep my Spektrum for off road and comicals only..  I need to check whether the 10PX can run FAAST receivers without fiddling around and I will upgrade my antique dinausaur roamed the earth 4PKS-R..

Update.. so I studied which Futaba radio is backwards compatible with my FASST receivers and turns out the 7PKS-R does everything I want.  T-FSSH and FAAST (specifically the receivers I have).. and Mini-Z module available. :D  And powers off the same Futaba NiMH packs I run on my 4PKS-R.. so placed order for one and a couple of receivers and hard case.  I am all set!  B)

This is my ancient 4PKS-R.. beautiful, right?    Proper equipment for the pretend RC shop.. if only it made money..

Painted and clear coated an Edgarmon for the Jeep. As this is an open top I also cut off his feet and glued to the front to give the impression of sitting.

SxrrVXg.jpeg

I usually just cut off the legs and stick on the seat as a half figure, but this is much nicer for an open top.

Will take photos in the jeep tomorrow.

Installed super stock RZ on my hornet. I gotta say, I was hesitant about how it would handle the motor.. but it actually is very fun!

Since I wounded my pointing finger this am, I could not play my piano today (don’t want blood on the keybed) so decided to quickly make that dry cell out of styrene today.  :D

Easy peasey.. will give it some color tomorrow.  Mine is more the traditional shape with Willy distortion.

Where did you find Egress stickers?  That seems to be a hard thing to come across these days...

I'm in the same boat with my 4PK... I LOVE it, but Rx's are pretty hard to come across, and when you do find them.... $$$$$

The 10PX looks awesome, but FASST compatibility seems questionable?  Perhaps I shall look into that 7PKS-R too......

I got the repo decal off eBay a while back.  It's not perfect, but while I'm pretty picky I am okay with it so going to keep it as it is.  It's really the clear windows and black trim (3M 2080) I made with EWH technologies aka hope that take the attention away.  I am so glad I did this.. I should've done it from start.  :D

I ordered the 7PX-R today (sorry for typo) along with the hard case and receivers.   10PX is FHHS only.. so not very useful for my situation.  I found this chart.. pretty useful!  I took a snap shot and keeping it on my iPad.

V nice @Willy iine. Do your guys have any small tools to work on the cars? Like a set of spanners on a magnetic clip?

I can't remember, did you make a vacuum to keep the shop tidy? That styrene gets everywhere!

Can I borrow your tyre mounting machine? Got a puncture on my 1:1 :(

Thanks! :D

I bought Willy generic tool boxes off Amazon and eBay that includes the tools.. is this what you are referring to?  (bottom shelf of Willy's work bench).

As for the styrene dust it was one of my first challenges to keep it controlled in my pretend RC shop as I sit literally a few feet from my display area.  It's still not perfect, but for the most part it is over 90% contained.  I can go a month without dusting.

#1 Direct house central HVAC air away from work area.  Blowing air is not your friend.

#2 I only file/sand parts directly over trash bin.  Mist water into trash bin from time to time to keep dust contained inside bin.

#3 I run an HEPA air purifier in very close proximity to where I am sanding.  Any micron level dust gets suctioned into the purifier.  Also excellent for removing cement and paint fumes.

#4 When taking out the trash, I mist water into the trash bin prior  to minimize dust from getting out of the bag while closing the bag.

I also keep a dust vac handy and use it often so I don’t track styrene bits into other parts of the room.  :D

Sorry to hear about your 1:1 tire puncture.  If it's a nail on the tread (away from sidewall) you might be able to get away with a rope type tire plug.  I use it from time to time and works great.  Never had one fail..
