Got the Manta Ray out at dusk for her first springtime run after the snow.

Had fun, ran a couple packs, obliterated the camera :D

Finished off a project on the CAD I've been meaning to sort for ages. The Kyosho gear diff in my modifed TRF201 transmission has become terminally leaky, so I finished off measuring it up whilst it was out of the RR03-Ra and grafted it onto my TA06 gear diff sized casing. Gonna leave it to sit for a couple of days in case I remember I've done something stupid, then get some off Shapeways. If it works I'll pop it up on the store. I think there's quite a few people out there with DN01s and TRF201X rear motor buggies who might like a reliable gear diff instead of the ball diff, or bodging it with a dremmel to fit the KYosho diff like I did.

Posted that I received the last of the parts for some TT-02 wrenching a few days ago in the post thread:

spacer.png

Today, did the first few steps:

- Blue prop shaft and cups

- High speed gear set with 72T 48P spur (for now, also have 78T)

- Removed silver can motor

spacer.png

- Put it back together

- Removed stock ESC

spacer.png

Next steps:

- Install 13.5T brushless motor and ESC

- Pinion TBD. I have 32T, 35T, 38T to work with

- Shocks upgrade

Put a bit of red paint on my all-terrain postal delivery vehicle:

This of course revealed several little imperfections that weren't evident in primer, so more sanding and painting to follow...

"Anytime, Baby!"20200509-203754.jpg

It was a good -though way too cold- Saturday afternoon, spent in the woods with the Hornet and a book. Three battery packs and a couple hours of trouble free operation despite branches, rocks and many jumps at full speed, always a bonus when nothing's broken after the fun!

Fitted a motor upgrade. Should finish off the decals too but tearing up the garden is more fun!

Ran the comical Grasshopper for the first time. 17.5t seems about right, still enough to flip it with to much throttle. Eat it’s servo so now a total strip down to get a new one in

Finished (well almost got the driver drying) my terra scorcher decided to fit a yokomo pro stock 2 just to give it a little bit more punch! very enjoyable no issues although when I was building it the gearboxes felt very notchy and even when built to the extent I stripped them apart again? I couldn't see anything wrong but it all soon meshed together after I put a battery through it!

I have finished up a holder to fit TBLE-02 inside servo mounts. Mostly for mounting where a MSC would be on things like the blitzers
Download link is in my thread on TC designs!

For almost as long as there has been a rural postal service, there has been a need for vehicles that can deliver mail to hard-to-reach places.

There is this one, which I gather was used for postal deliveries in Montana:

Even Postman Pat has had to venture off road at times:

So I have decided that my odd-looking G6-01 shell is going to be a mail truck - a decision made somewhat easier since I already have some nice red paint. Now to source some Royal Mail stickers for it!

I love these 2!!!!

Took the Javelin to a nearby baseball diamond for another run, this time with the kids in tow.

Cleaned said Javelin after we had our fun while my little man played with his RC28.

Found a bag of tiny Tamiya locknuts in a bag of miscellaneous carp I was sorting through. I think they were the ones I bought a couple of years ago to finish off my modded Hornet front suspension. Happy Days!
