Started to decal the Falcon shell - what a pain in the proverbial that is, especially with decals on white vinyl backing - will have to get another set on clear as they is no way on earth you could cut some ogf the lettering from the white backed sheet.

Live n learn.

On a positive note..

Rebuilt said Falcon with the best parts i had from a partial restoration and some new bits i had - looks pretty good, just need to refurbish the rims which are a little scuffed at their outer edges, and find and esc and radio gear to drop in. I will actually give this one a run !

Oh yes, just bought a NIB Bear Hawk bodyset and a used chassis to make use of it.

That's two cars i now have in transit and another two to collect from a mate - looks like year two is starting as year one ended !!

white vinyl decals are awful. Such a nightmare to cut out.

BearHawk project up next? I'm sure you're busy with that Super Champ

Not physically touched the champ other than taking out of box 10 days ago ! Have managed to order some custom parts though.

Next up (started) is another SRB, this time brushless.

Will probably do the Monster Beetle rebuild alongside it too.

And i've got the Nitro Thunder arriving this week too :)

not Tamiya related...

has been to Build a Bear to buy a bear for my niece...

What started out as a 15 quid cuddly toy escalated with a 5 quid heartbeat, 5 quid recorded phrase box thingy, 25 quid outfit including shoes and a nice box to sit it all in... what a racket! I only have one niece and she is ace, but beware Build a Bear!!!

...and some people think Tamiya is expensive!

The Horror!

1. Took a new r/c inventory

2. Listed 13 r/c auctions on Ebay (Well, late last night)

3. Installed 1 of the brushless motors in my CPE Terminator Clod Buster Build

4. Built my Lego Star Wars AT-ST

(I was up early today)

Soldered the ESC to the motors of my Jugg2 build (first time soldering) and didn't screw it up - motors in series as planned, didn't mess up the polarity and truck runs smoothly

Practiced my soldering, got the hang of it and went on a soldering blitz: 2 new lipo's and 2 esc's with shiny new XT60 connectors.

Then charged one of the lipo's (first time with lipo's) with my new Accucel balance charger.

Quite satisfying

Cleaned up a pair of SRB gear cases, dropped the ball diff and other gears in along with an EZRun 9T motor - using the 15/70 gearing for now as a safe option. DF03 slipper clutch on hand if needbe !

Plodded on with building a super sabre out of spare parts. Got it pretty much done apart from the bodyshell (on it's way from Canada) and shocks. Either going to use the yellow CVAs I've got in stock or get some cheap GPM jobs in anodised red to match the plastic. Also ddid a little bit of tinkering with an Ultima Pro runner rebuild. Need to find some tidy shocks for that as well.

More sanding and filling on my Sand Scorcher - Nose cone sink mark imperfections filled and sanded, sunroof panel sanded, ejector pin marks on exhaust filled and sanded, driver assembled, driver mould lines removed on the arms and joins in the helmet sanded smooth.

Final once over wetsand then ready for primer!

Spent the last month away from home due to my house being flooded in Bangkok.....1 month with no R/C.

So today I went to a small indoor track here in Pattaya made specifically for Kyosho Dnano cars to get my R/C fix, great little cars but ridiculously expensive.

I do hope all my R/C cars at home are dry!

Where to start, ordered a 959 body off ebay then found the rear springs for 959 #3 at Ace hardware, took the 956s out and crashed one hard and blew the dif in the other. I took the TT01 based 2010 Camaro out for the first time with the new body. it Looks great but still afraid to crash it. My daughter took the hornet out while I was running the 956s and she did better than I did. Then I called and made an offer on a vintage car or 4. I took the 959 #1 out and did some playing around with it while #2 charged up for it's test run. Caught some debri in the steering but no harm done there. I tested #2 and it ran fine but it's a dog. I'll pull out the RX540VZ and probably go to an HPI motor. That's 2 of them that run fine but not for me. Still trying to do something with an ugly car body but we'll see. Posted the crash video and cooked, cleaned and fixed my daughters sax. A slow day here and how bout ya'll?

What have I done today? Taken some photos of the cars I've been working on over the last couple of weeks ;)

Electrics, details and inevitably a little bling for these two -

But this is the one that's taken up most of my hobby time recently -

I think the M113 and the Wheeler are going to keep me busy for a little while longer :o

So what have you done today?

Quick inspection of the latest arrival, ordered a new wing and some ball connectors - hopefully Anthony will get them to me tomorrow to coincide with my day off work (RC heaven lol!!)

Just bought a TL01 chassis - got this one lined up for an on-road Mustang type model for the new year.

Thanks guys. The Champ's front bumper is from RC Channel.

The rear shocks were an ebay punt that worked. If you search for '288 4xAluminum Shock Absorber(Ø11x60mm)for Mini RC Cars' you'll find them. The top and bottom mounts are plastic cups, designed for a ball joint but I just drilled through and bolted them on.
