was outbid at the last minute! good job because the wife was note very impressed! Shame, lost out by 3 pounds, but for all i know it might have been 20 pounds... still there is still early hours on Saturday to bid on a prize. LOL!!

so what have you done today?

its my birthday today, woohoo! As a prize my wife bought me a Fire Dragon, so this morning i was mostly looking over the Fire Dragon I recieved. Made up with it, but my word does it need some attention. Going to be a fun project I can feel it!

beers open now so posting and modelling is postponed until the weekend.

So what have you been up to today??

Figured out how to fit the 53200 one way roller kit into a thundershot. Think I might be able to adapt it to fit the one way and thundershot diff gear into a hotshot front gearbox as well

What have you all done today ???

Started to cut the ABS Bowler shell

Priced up some auto paint for it - £23 a can :)

Feeling left out that few RC parcles have been arriving this week i couldn;t hold off bidding on a Slash 1/16 on ebay - so that'll be arriving next week :D

Tried to remove some glued tyres from rims - boiling water trick no proving very effective at the moment

Painted my SCTE body today. Happy how it came out considering my lack of skill when it comes to paint and applying decals.

oh snap, won an auction for an presumably fairly rare ACTO POWER TRF-Tuned motor. This is gonna look pretty swag on my f103 15th :)

Now for the long wait for it to arrive from japan ;)

Gradually getting the interior put together for my Willy's Wheeler project

The lights are all mounted to the underside - lots of wires in a small space!

So what have you done today?

cheers,

I got a bit bored today so I decided to paint the new body for my Losi XXX SCT which is undergoing a bit of a rebirth at the moment with some new parts all round.

Same colours at as my Losi SCTE just a bit different style

I took my DT-02 bashing in the dusk of the afternoon to test a new motor set-up

002.jpg

The motor is a $26 HK 3650-2900KV designed for 50A @ 14.4V (750W), but running off a 11.1V 3S LiPo via a $19 HK 45A ESC without fan. Without turning this post into a review, I have to report that it runs great. Even at the reduced voltage, it kicks away nicely. More power than a Tamiya Stock RZ at 2S LiPo, but not out-of-control-fast :) It doesn't run hot in anyway; Depsite the missing fan, I could barely feel a temperatur increase in the ESC, and the motor temp must have been less than 15*C above ambient. The tires also did a great job on the moist, rough/pot-holed parking area tarmac. Nice and balanced without the DT-02 typical "heavy-understeer-but-insane-oversteer-on-lifting-throttle". The DT-02 chassis is pretty stock, apart from ball-bearings, oil-shocks and a 5mm steel pinion.

So what did you do today?

Swapped some Blitzer Beetle CVA shocks over onto a Bear Hawk chassis, and ran the dirty BH pogo shocks thru the ultrasonic cleaner (now like new !)

Put the Bear Hawk body in some oven pride cleaner to strip the old and very poor red paint off.

Added some new TRF style grey disc wheels and new tyres to the Bear Hawk chassis.

With a following wind i'll have this overhaul done by new year :)
