@VileQuenouille Looks amazing. Is it a runner or just for the shelf?

No shelf queen in this house :D, although I don't drive them very hard, the Turbo Optima has been out a couple of times already and there hasn't been any damage yet aside from some scratches on the rear control arms.

We also managed to go out for a quick drive between 2 rainy clouds today. First drive for the 934 Black edition I gifted to my GF, and she only hit one curb so this was a good day B). First run for my 934 Tamico edition since I installed the Dyna Run stock motor, and I'm happy to report it is quite faster than the Sport tuned motor, even though they have similar specs on paper.

So taken with this idea I added a torque tuned and sport tuned to a parts order!

Ah, I'd forgotten about the Torque Tuned. I suppose since it's included as standard in some kits now, I didn't think of including it in the "collection." However, now that I'm thinking about it, I don't have a GT Tuned motor.

What are people's thoughts on the GT Tuned? And what's its best application?

In the opening it speeds away then a 1:1 comes from the left and, my heart dropped :( but it was ok

Got the Thundershot race shell painted in my new team colours and the decals applied. Just got the wing to do next week then the Avante2001 to do too.

I put my boomerang tires on my thunder shot since I’m still waiting for 12mm hex adapters and we have significant snow totals in the forecast

This morning I tried out the Terra Scorcher, my last build.
I've waited for the last couple weeks and today, at a staggering -23 °C, was the perfect moment, with plenty of time and finally some salt-free surface available. It got quite poignant in a way as my parents, which were on screen for a video call, did witness its maiden run from the other side of the Atlantic

What to say, for a first impression I'm very happy with it. The buggy feels zippy, reactive, precise, intuitive, very manageable at any speed and... wow, oddly enough, quite silent. After all the gears/dogbones issues that we often discussed on the forum, I wasn't expecting this. Don't know if the gears did bed in already or if my shaving of the bevels was particularly successful, but after running just a few minutes it already felt pretty smooth. And the rear UJS, which seem to have troubled more than a few people when causing strong vibrations, for some reason don't represent an issue in my case, even with the car off the ground at full throttle and releasing it everything is fine. I can't explain why, but I'll take it :D

The quite unknow brushless motor that I installed, a Flash "A Series" 17.5 T sensored, also seems to be pretty good. It's punchy but much more manageable and less extreme than the 13.5 T bluebottle I have on the Manta Ray, which in comparison is quite abrupt (my only two brushless experiences so far). At low speed you can barely hear it.

I was  impressed with how the car feels overall, it's a treat to run. It took me no more than half a battery pack to start feeling familiar with the driving, which at least on snow seems particularly up my alley, so much that just an hour after her maiden run I put the Terra Scorcher on duty for the postal racing round 7. It will be fun to race it along with the Manta Ray and compare the results, as the cars are similar in setup and motors.

After a build that wasn't exactly smooth sailing, now I'm very happy with the buggy 🤪

today was indeed cold but i dont think id run when its close to -30C with the wind. im still wary of stupidly cold temps and various plastic tolerances. that looked like a fun run with your terra scorcher. i cant wait until i have a RC arrive to enjoy some snow conditions. no new updates on the slash 2wd status and a 2021 Thunder Dragón is still a bit far away atm... a run where anything its  not below -20C would be more my liking.

@Ferruz Dude! That colour scheme on the Scorcher is amazing. My favourite i have ever seen on that buggy. Glad you're enjoying it too. 17.5 brushless is a nice setup for that buggy i think. If you haven't already, a 17.5 would lug a 17t pinion nicely i think. The DT03 hop up steel pinion is a direct fit.

Over this weekend I have built some 50746 Super Mini CVA dampers for my M03

DSC_0483.md.jpg

These were made with the assistance of a damper stand I bought on sale at the end of last year  - those eBay coupons are occasionally good for something!

A9286147-1159-4361-B9C7-C4CEDDF6F644.md.

It did make life easier. This chassis was originally intended for a Mni for Mrs BC and I wanted to make it like her first 1:1 (she's had to Minis, lucky thing) so had bought some thinner hexes to try and narrow the track and make it less 'racey'. Once fitted, these are never coming out...

89BE24A6-6A06-4FB3-9B3E-CD0B9810E0D4.md.

Then I had to pick a body from one of my two 'knock-off' Minis

F570564F-9B94-4F78-91CC-88838119DF8E.md.

I'm going for the one on the left with the pimple on the bonnet. The plan is for this shell to become my 'development hack' - some practice on trimming and painting and not getting too precious about the result if I make mistakes. The idea being that what I learn can help me do better with future builds - Mrs BC's Mini and a couple of Porsches.

A quick test fit on the shell.

818CD8F2-DCBD-446E-BF17-507CDC77560C.md.

Even with the narrow hexes it is an effort to get the shell over the wheels. I wonder if an effect of the copying process has been to scale down the shell slightly? Then again, the wheels normally protrude from the arches on images I have seen. Ultimately, to go full 'scale' looks I think the only way forward is to narrow the wheel and tyres but that is a job for future 'Crumble. Present 'Crumble has to fit the rear wheels for a start!

Upgraded the shocks. Been wanting this set of KYX for quite sometime now. It's been in my cart but never purchased it. Until I saw it in another online shop at half the price ($28 for 2 pairs) and bought it right away. Rebuilt them and added oil. Works great! Spring rate and rebound is really nice and smooth.

Yesterday i ´ve painted a WPL C24-1 in a rush with a Blue Revell Spraypaint. Because of the Lockdown i didn`t had the opportunity to get the Color i wanted.
I wanted to paint it in Yellow, Light Blue or a light orange in Matt and not in Glossy.

I didn`t had a Primer, and the Can was very small, so there are not enough coats to get a good Finish.
Also because of the Rush (ivè paintet it on the Street in front of my flat) i got a lot of drops.
I ´ve covered the drops and the thin Paint with some Weathering Powder.
It was the fiert time i`ve used Weathering Powder and a selfmade wash.

Maybe i´ve overweathered a little bit because it was so much fun to see such good results at the first try :D

Slowly but shurely the colorchoice grows on me, if i make another one it will be yellow, light Blue or light orange in Matt.

throw away the porsche body of my ta-03 rs, and put on other body post and bumper and a ugly toyota corolla basher body that came with a second hand car that I bought, had to change the rear wheels because the porsche wheels had to much offset for the body, I did not had a full set of wheels so it looks like ........ with 2 sets of different wheels, but I don't care it is a basher car, I still have a peugeot 106 body and a spare toyota corolla body for it so if this body is toast I put on a nicer one with new wheels.
