Finally got some bits to give my sand viper a bit more ground clearance and some more oomph.

Blitzer wheels, Schumacher vee 2 and 4 tyres + foams. Sports tuned motor and longer front uprights too accommodate the truck wheels.

It could do with a truck body now but that can wait until my kids have given this body a battering.

So the Holiday Buggy I bought before Christmas, (for a mates lad, who gave me the Taisan Porsche 911 GT2, and the TA03F Imprezza), the one that just needed a quick clean, and esc, servo and good to go?

Looking like it's in danger of becoming a project.....😳😭

(And some wonder why you ditch the soft cheese pinions...)

The wife was out this afternoon, so the first  thing I did was to get together all the grimy bits of Strikers and Sonic fighters that had accumulated while finding parts for my two Striker builds and wash them all IN THE DISHWASHER. Everything came out nicely clean and it looks as if I could build about 2 Sonic fighters and one Striker and still have parts left!

Striker parts

Also Cut out the repro Nissan Skyline GT-R body for my Loctite Zexel TA04 restoration but it was too cold for any painting, so I tried out  the new postal racing track in the garden - tough course for a DT-02 on uncut grass, I'm going to have to get a lot more practice in.

Beat up on my Stampede today, don’t think I have driven it since mid September, 2020!

Fixing a trade in for my LHS, it has an immaculate black sport tuned in it. Asked if I could buy the motor from him, he said replace it with a silver can and it yours. Yoink!

Win! 😁

One of my RC mates gave me a fresh built DT02 Sand Viper for free. He never ran it. So tonight, just before the covid evening clock, I gave the DT02 a run and I now realise what a fun chassis this is. Underside is now full of scratches to proof that it was off road.

@No Slack that's stoked for sure bro but what's the covid evening clock if I may ask?

We are not allowed to go outside between 9 pm and 5 am due to covid. Only with a special permit you can. This is on top of all other covid restrictions of the lock down. The silence outside is amazing. We live about 1 km from a 70 km/h road and the background noise is completely gone.

I was going to buy a Blitzer Beetle from Time Tunnel but was too slow 😭

The price was great and it was in stock yesterday 🤦

Hmm maybe an TT02 Audi from Fusion then 👍

I see you have the Lexus Eneos. I love that shell! Were the decals difficult to do?

Not really difficult but requires time. It has some long pieces that needs to be stuck on the corners/edges... a heat gun is helpful to have.

Had to go up in the loft so did a stock take while I was up there. I really have no need to buy any kits for a while given that I unearthed

Agrios (ready to build this summer)

CR-01 Rock Socker

CR-01 FJ Cruiser

TB-05 Pro

TL-01LA Integra (built, second hand)

M04 Giulia (built, second hand)

And then a few bodies -

2CV Rally

Ford RS200

Porsche Carrera RSR

Porsche 934

Racing Mini

Alfa Giulia

and with the Giulia I found what I’d been missing for ages

My mildly hopped up M04! Built from New In Packet spares, I’ve a few more parts to go on this -  just need to locate them in the garage! Then a chassis part (or two?) to extend the wheelbase and I think I have a base for the Ford Escort body that is waiting for me in the office.

Also incoming is another Giulia. Though is is just a chassis and a box. The chassis is destined for a Mini (all being well) and the box...well, I don’t think it is in display condition but it can store something!

Not today but yesterday. Despite it being another very cold day, I decided to brave the temperature and bike around town in the pursuit of a clean slate of snow to shred through with my Snow Scorcher.

Within the city limits, a good playground doesn't necessarily match with a parking spot, hence the bike!

I was rewarded with a perfect place that I found within half an hour, so not too bad. Still I shivered throughout the whole two-hour session, but it was well worth it. I took footage and pictures and most important I had a lot of fun just driving and jumping the buggy. I came home half frozen, but very happy.

I love this chassis and the way it drives!

I took 5 Tamiya off display for a light dusting, ready to be packed and put in storage today.

Nearly did some light spannering on my recently purchased Lunchbox but I decided to leave it until another day 😉

So true. I bought the MF-01X Escort when a clear body would have sufficed and I have an M02 incoming because the M03 I already have wasn’t ’quite what I wanted’. Here’s hoping Tamiya doesn’t release anything else this year that might tempt me.

RC fun continued today with my son running the Hornet round the garden. Unfortunately, it finished with Mrs BC running it into el kid and a spotlamp being ripped off :(. Never mind, it was a very ratty shell and I’m stickering up the replacement.

Went out with Top-Force for a spinn tonight (alone), most off the snow melted away so i was some asphalt with gravel (we constantly put gravel on top off snow so when it melt during spring your left wtih a lot off gravel on the asphalt) and some ice to spinn around on. Even got a litle crowd this time and i even got to drive the Top-Force between a stranger Lady’s legs,  by the sound off it she enjoyed it and said she now should re-consider getting a dog, i then i told her Top-Force would never **** on her carpet either. Told this to Wife when i came back home and she said she had no idea it was a babe magnet i was building, well me neither..

Me and little one (age 5) violated all of these in one thirty minute session, the lunchbox took a clean frontal to my car exhaust at top speed, and the GTR has a sever case of grip roll going on, not helped by new HPI tyres and swapping over to LIPO on it today!

I took the slash out for a walk/run today. It lasted around 55 minutes on its 3000MAH batteries. 75% was below half throttle walk/jogging pace the rest were short speed runs when there was room on the pedestrian road in the park. There are some old parking areas that are not for their original use these days so I went a bit crazy with speed bursts. Rolled it a few time and half of the time it rolled back onto the wheels. Saw a few ice snow ramps from vehicle tracks and they were suitable to jump the truck no big airtime mostly 1second airtime. I'm fairly happy with the run time of the battery but a higher capacity battery might be in the future though the cost with that special ESC connector does make it more expensive... the dirt is finding it's way into the fiber tape reinforcement a bit in areas i didnt completely seal off. Its either that or have the shell get huge clear cracks so i will settle for the current situation.

Awesome! Glad you found it! 😁 I like those 3d printed posts. It doesn't look too dissimilar from mine, chassis wise. Still wanting to add more hop ups to the chassis and paint the new Giulia body also 😁

my slash needs a mild cleaning but due to my schedule i had to suffice with an air blower tool to remove most ice and rocks from the slash and a few dabs with paper towel. the battery is near full charge now and its gonna be ready for another run today after work. yesterday was a bit nippy on bare hands when there was no wind protection but overall pretty good. today is even warmer but there is still too much snow to bring out the tt02... its gonna be the slash today.
