Myself I'm super happy the rims are deep. Tamiya was trying to get the real look, that's how real monster truck wheels were. I'm not sure about today, but back in the day they were just like that. Oh, I do believe you're going to do a nice job with them. yeah the first movie was great, the second kept the jokes and expanded them a bit. i just hope i dont over spray the rims when priming and painting. the paint pot is for trouble spots... EDIT: i got some vectors generated for some bumper sticker on the lunchbox and the text stickers for them body. Surely you can't be serious???!!

I had to Google to find that island dock in the background - totally worth it! @Ferruz I'm so glad to see you enjoying your RC10 - these are designed to be driven, and not just assembled and admired. @nel33 your Slash is looking great, and I notice your collection is expanding rapidly considering your early concerns about space ;-) Also, and I'm not looking at anyone in particular, but there are some serious body posts going on in so many posts here recently... did I miss the memo? It hurts my delicate eyeballs! So I haven't had too many RC adventures lately (except boats), but I did take the Kyosho Mini Z to Rickett's Point marine sanctuary last week (and then flew the DJI Spark around, too). I could have driven around for hours without doing the same lines twice, but I want to stay married so I didn't push my luck!
nel33 870 Posted May 11, 2021 @lsear2905 yeah, its still a serious concern i have. the slash had a lucky break to make it look even better BC i was too lazy to take initiative and i still havent assembed the hex wheel mounts on the trenchers... around kit 4 it was noticeable, at 5 its a big realization that i cant buy many more. currently at 3.5 kits. 2 built, some electronics and parts for TD, most of the Manta parts but not enough to start a build and i got 95% of the Lunchbox but i can still build it in stock form without planned custom mods. NO.4-5 were some fun/interesting custom ideas i couldnt resist. i hope no.6 doesnt occur... thankfully i havent been scoping out potential custom ideas so its not my biggest immediate concern. still gonna have 5 shells for one kit, 2 for Traxxas and 1 each for the remaining ones. still a challenge to find storage here... i think my creativity is at fault with the build up here. berman 5319 Posted May 11, 2021 Today I went and picked up a few bits I ordered from my LHS after work. Let go of one escort body as I don't need two clear ones, already have a s3 rx7, Alfa GTA, and 3 minis... the kyosho parts are two batteries. I got offered a near brand new Drone Racer to keep as it wasn't working. Took it home, rebound it, had a play with the settings, and it goes! The battery was missing, so $20 in and will go take it to the park when the weather plays nice... 😁 score!

Ahhh, so it is closer to a Bruiser. Nice. I need to build my Bruiser..maybe this fall.

The bottom print as the image (with the greenish background) I used to trace the artwork and printed it just for reference. It will need a little adjusting though as RACING TEAM and GUMOUT aren't quite right and I missed some details on the netting. Looks good. How thick is the decal sheet? (ie: Similar to Tamiya or thicker?).

I cant do a worn out beater with mismatched body colors as I don't have the drive to buy an extra body shell. Yet.... I've seen a few pics of nice shiny lunch boxes and thought, "they all look too darn new to me." so i decided to do someting fun and unique with a weird and unpredictable model like a lunch box. I wish they had an RV body shell on the market but a van will do for now. Am I missing something with the proline trenchers rim install?? I cut one sprue off the split 6 to hex adapter and left the other tab. It doesn't look like it gets in the way. There is a little give on the central hub where I screwed the 6 screws in. Is that normal? Do I need to cut the other sprue off so it's a round circle before installing? i do see some point/dot marks on adapter and wheel but the extra sprue i didnt cut off doesnt seem to get in the way . am i missing a small detail so the adpators are solidly mounted to the rims? i tried putting the heads facing out/seem on exterior or rim. is its supposed to have the heads on the interior of the wheel rims? Fabia130vRS 2098 Posted May 11, 2021 Decided to swap my M05Ra for a set of LRP S18s. A combo of the S18 TC and S18 Buggy both electro. 380 can motor. -I am totally wasting money here throwing the new build car with radio and battery's for these two. The seller did manage to find a set of used buggy wheels. so will have these two on original wheels and as pictures state not very used condition. the seller did send me a video of them both running on his radio he is not offering. but the radio does not worry me too much, as i gather in another swap with the Reely Rockhard a FlySky GT3B. seems like a interesting project since both cars have some alu upgrades. No metal wheel drive shafts anywhere unfortunately. But the Tc could be a mild drifter and the buggy could use some crawling. Cant wait to get them apart and clean. It is like in another Topic mentioned, like I am paying for the expirience to rebuild them. not the fun of driving the cars themself. this hobby never ends suprising. both the TC and the buggy have a working LRP Ai ESCs. thats nice. never run on 3s does the owner mention. the spoiler mount does look bend or wrong attached. That is a new age toy for sure. seems interesting with the ultra sonic sensors. Great think. I want one, and stick a camera to it. 1
Willy iine 18843 Posted May 11, 2021 Today I worked on removing significant amounts of play from my SWB M38's steering linkage which had tracking problems since taking ownership earlier this year. It was well worn when I got it so it had the familiar symptoms of a weak servo saver with too much play where the steering would not re-center after a turn. I used 2 pieces of 3 x 5mm 3M masking tape and 3-4mm of antenna tube. Fixed. Been enjoying driving my car today. I did the same on one of my worn LWB as well. Fixed. I love it. I think Billy will look so big in the car it will emphasize smallness of these vintage pre-BMW Mini's which is perfect. Btw Billy is Willy's brother.. according to my wife. He's the one with a screw hole at the back of the helmet and comes with these partial torso..
Badcrumble 4432 Posted May 12, 2021 Thanks @Willy iine, I've a Multi-purpose driver figure for this one. He's a had some small tweaks and still needs some filler and sanding before he's ready for paint. This is a bit of fun to try out a few techniques I've not practiced before, hence the 'development hack' nickname. I've taken inspiration for this build from a well-known Tamiyaclub showroom https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=133125&id=34614
Willy iine 18843 Posted May 12, 2021 Badcrumble - Very cool. Thanks for the link as well. That is exactly how I pictured Billy in these m-chassis! I’m going to do that too as soon as I am done with my Willy projects.. which might take a while to complete however.. Please keep us posted.
Unknown Driver 262 Posted May 12, 2021 Seeing as I'm at work I can only post what I did LAST night... Working on a Monster Beetle project. Got 2 original chassis off ebay - one of them will be a period-correct resto-mod build with Novak ESC and Trinity motor. Right now both cars are getting their respective soaks/cleans. Plastics are in soapy hot water and metal parts are in IPA. The 2nd car is going to get these rims and a matching paint job because YES, I couldn't get a matching set of rims and how do you NOT love those bright colors...

We nearly bought a 1:1 Mini after that day! 3
