I started (and almost finished?) the Blitzer Beetle today. First 2WD buggy I build funny enough, not counting the Scorcher. Even with tapping and SS hex screws (where I could, there are several stepped screws I couldn't replace), I've only spent 4 hours getting this far. Nice build though.

I had a brushless esc/motor set rated at 5800kv, and I didn't know what to do with it, so I dropped it in lol.

Geez @DeadMeat666, my SB feels like it’s on its limits of drivability on 4000kv!!

As mentioned previously, the stock tyres will be toasted for sure in no time, so definitely Sandpaws + Sand = 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

Ordered 3 x Black Can "Sport Tuned" motors from Aliexpress (Knowing full well what they truly are) and 2 x 21T Surpass Brushed motors.

Ordered 3 x HW Quicrun 1060's and 2 x generic 1060's

So, thats 5 motors and 5 ESC's on the way, will now need some RX's for my Spektrum DX3R

i found some useful items that would usually go into the trash at work. it should make a few rc bumpers. the pieces are 2 inches thick so i can make as much as id like. i also built the robot's torso, arms and weapon last night after procrastinating for many months. i think i did the wrong thing in getting his weapon done as he is now threatening my new hobby... i only recently got the lunch box done and the tires might get slashed already... its name Deathscythe is very forbidding.

I finally finished fitting the Hi-cap dampers onto my Hotshot. I decided to keep the front monoshock, mostly for the looks but fitted with a much softer spring from a DT02 friction shock. The front is still quite soft but the monoshock allows for easy preload adjustment. I’ve not had chance to road test it yet but I love the look.

I have somehow overlooked this buggy awesomeness so please forgive me, I'm about to start stalking your posts.

Really great, how did you fit front dampers ? And rear ?

Im eyeballing to this nice kit, but Im not happy with that stock dampers.

Today I used a whole can of PS-2!

Mrs BC's PCR test was negative so she took el Kid away for a family visit yesterday. So aside from my house DIY tasks, I have trimmed a shell, masked it and put on the first body coat. I've mocked up the chassis for it but realised that it needs a full strip down, clean and rebuild before it can run so for now it is a 'proof of concept'.

I have a new favourite tool -

I bough this Rolson mini ratchet screwdriver and some Vessel JIS bits a while ago but wasn't happy with the bits. I now have a proper Tamiya driver, large hex socket and some MIP hex drivers. I am now a very happy camper.

I built the VQS hi caps using the longest bottom ball ends I could find and bought the brackets from the Super Hotshot. The brackets were surprisingly tricky to find for such a recent re re kit, but I suppose everything is at the moment.

That's cool.  When I went to Amazon to buy more 215's for my Spektrum it told me I bought it 18 times or something and 15 times or so for the 1060.

Got some time off, so went hobby shopping. Went to my local, talked smack for a couple of hours, put the Renault R5 turbo on Layby, admired the influx of new rerelease buggies, mass of TT02s and landfreeder track thing and then left to go to the next town over as I knew the owner had a stock of Jconcept Renegades, but also chatted about other RC stuff, and found out he had some m -chassis goodies.

Unfortunately after my families trek north last weekend funds are a little low, but the other hobby shop has some more stuff I'm interested in, so may hopefully buy some more stuff next week 😎

I'm tempted by the aluminium pulleys. The plastic ones didn't feel great. What dampers are you going to use?

I've gone for 54541 - as I got them for a fantastic price and they are the right length for the Long Damper spec kit882088801_IMG_20210728_1053072.thumb.jpg.aba769b4b53b228862d9762fc84ab2ea.jpg

Good choice, they are basically the same as the 53926 DF03 shocks except colour. I used the 53926 on my LD build

54541's are shorter than the 53926's. 54541 and 54670 are the same but different colours. 54541 are marked up as for cc01 and 54670 for gf01.

Of course, my mistake, and it is 54670 (not 53926) that I have on my XV.

Not really ready to share my lunacy with the world but I finished the spray painting and peeled back on the shell so just had try placing it on the chassis.

Very cool, Badcrumble!   And relieved to hear Mrs.BC is okay from Covid.  :D

For me I think I'm going with the GF01Tr Beetle for now and see where it takes me.  Billy is getting anxious what car he gets to drive.
