Em, shouldn't that be the ID that is the same as the OD of the axle? As in the hole of the collar nut being the same as the shaft? So the end result is the collar that slips into the hole of the wheel will be bigger then the axle. Impossible for ID and OD to be the same given the thickness of the metal? Perhaps it is wheels with bigger axle holes that I should be looking for?

No.  The OD of the collar nut should the same as the axle.  And it should still thread onto the axle.

I'll pull out the calipers tonight and do some measurements for you on my Dragon.  I have extra extensions around here I think...

We actually had this discussion before and did the measurements. I do need to check the wheel hole of this set of wheels as the previous set was touring car wheels.

@Frog Jumper I found my set.

The hole in the wheel is (about) 3.85mm while the OD of the nut that goes through that hole is (as measured earlier) 4.92mm. Now I have to consider if it is worth the risk of drilling out the hole and risk another exploding wheel. Another point of note is, with 4mm hex on at the moment, I hardly have any thread through the locknut, so using a thicker standard hex will not work, not even 5mm.

Also, I ordered a 16t and 14t pinion, to see if lowering the speed will help. Perhaps using a buggy for speed runs is not going to end well after all.

I made some side pods for my MF01x

As you might have read from another thread I was looking into small batteries, as at the moment it sticks out from the side quite a bit.

I bought some black 7.2 v batteries to help the look, but then, a little inspired by the Pumpkin I made some battery covers.

What are people's thoughts? I'm on the fence. A part of me likes the fact it's covered, but another part of me thinks it's just even more under the body.

@Nikko85 I think the black truck would look better if that battery cover/fuel-tank looking part were painted chrome silver.

Just finished up the TB Evo 7 chassis. My gosh this thing is a work of art and a technical marvel. My camera skills.... not so much

Lovin' the bugs, then I saw this ... please one of you - as I have neither the skill or patience to chop a body to the level required (or a comical chassis) - make this your next project.

I'm afraid I wouldn't have the necessary skills either. @Willy iine is the man. I just paint them.

I'm on awe of some of the skills on here.😍

Cheers, they are the kit supplied window decals, I was considering painting them in at one stage.

Dug out my next clean up and sell. Not sure what I was exactly thinking at the time but Gulf Racing TT-02 MS monsterised looks like the plan.

It went round the garden once and I lost a dog bone so I added universals and then forgot about it.

Plan A is to wash the body and get some chrome vinyl for the windows. Some number roundals to finish the gulf look.

I still have the MS wheels but do not think the colour will go so I might have to move them on and get some black/white ones.

Unfortunately, it would require a hard body Mini (I’m not aware of one available) and even then, the likely wheelbase would not match :-(

We can dream and wish for a 3D printer…

Overall this sucker has multiple coats of paint.  Grey primer + TS95 Pure Metallic Red + tS18 Metallic Red + TS8 Italian Red + TS80 Flat Clear + TS13 Clear.    Primed both inside and outside.  I wanted the bright metallic red look but the 2 chosen above are too deep for what I wanted to achieve.  Flat clear was another mistake by ordering the wrong can.   Asked the store and the said just to spray TS13 right over the flat.  Was considering to used auto polish and wax but figured too much work for a runner.  Will pause on installing the decals for now.  All trims have been painted including the interior painted black.  My first and hopefully not my last 1/10 hard body.

Also swapped to operating rally lights and also made the headlights work

Gorgeous, I can see why you went for orange under the red, it really works. Like the grille work too.

Agree. I have one coming but there's no way I can make it look like that .
