Had a great day bashing with The Blitzer Champ ( Buggy Champ bodied Blitzer ) fitted with the Dirt Dawgs recycled from the Wild Dagger i bought last week . Managed to roll it a few times and smashed the roof lights off - no big deal .Planted some huge jumps on the BMX track .Ran through 3 lipo's for about 3 1/2 hours manic fun . Cut a alloy sheet roof and bolted it on to add some protection . Its not pretty but it does the job .

Managed to break both my Buggy Champ and my Avante within 24 hours, losing a front upright and ballrace on the first and an ESC and some front suspension pieces on the second...

Very jealous! :D I've just finished getting my 6T ready for a weekend of racing as well. They're lovely trucks, easy to work on and pretty much bomb proof!

I'm interested to see how the 6TR goes with the 5mm longer chassis and forward battery, over my old 6T.

how did you manage that ?

how did you manage that ?

I think the Buggy Champ had to do with fitting new shocks on the front; I may have set them up too stiff and so the impact went to the other components on the front suspension.

My efforts to waterproof the Avante failed, evidently; from no reverse it suddenly went on full-throttle and stuck there. After I managed to stop it, the ESC reeked of burnt plastic... That may have jarred one of the suspension mounts loose because when I took it out again to try out the new ESC the entire left front top mount was missing.

I managed a fix, though, using leftover screws and bushings from my Buggy Champ:

Still burnt a hole in my pocket finding the spare parts, though, which on the 2011 edition came in three separate parts bags. On the Black Special it was all in one.

So, on-topic: ordered new parts for my Avante today after losing some front suspension pieces... Argh...

Fixed my Astute basher after snapping the front bulkhead and replaced it with a madcap item. Also swapped the radio gear to 2.4 ghz acoms broad spectrum.

Think I may have killed off my first Lipo pack by letting it drop too low. I normally plug one of those low voltage buzzers but forgot and didnt apprieciate drop off. Charged it again but didn't last as long as before.

took the even more modified blitzer beetle and blitz for an impromptu bash

my mate burned up the firebolt motor in the blitz but we still had a blast , now all i need is to find the the front weights for the blitzer beetle

Me, nothing much... But I have tried out my new Tamiya blog http://modmyrc.wordpress.com/about/

while i was working on my iPhone game...

Please feel free to visit.

Visited... Looks great!

Some replacement pinions for my Avante arrived today; 22T and 23T types were sent from Jason. I installed the 22T for the factory setup, greased the gearboxes (getting low on molybdenum grease), cleaned the motor and tried to calculate the final drive using the dimensions and tooth number of each gear in the gearboxes. I eventually want to install a brushless system in this car but would like to find optimum gearing for it if possible:

A sizable thunderstorm also went through the neighbourhood, so I decided to tape up the Buggy Champ and take it out for a spin. Some of those puddles were very large:

It felt slow, so I cleaned the motor and regreased the gearbox afterwards. The next run will tell me if that was the right thing to do...

Also put two Tamiya decals on my helmet, though not entirely related to RC:

A bit tongue-in-cheek since I am nowhere near as hot a player as the stickers suggest, but a tribute.

designed and mocked up the Paint scheme and sponsors for my Lexan Blitzer beetle shell , wish i had more decals , ill see what i can forage in the spares bin , at least one DTM/STW/BTCC sponsor has to be period accurate :)

well , it seems its only me who writes this things this days ,but still.

was really envious of you guys at the meet . please post more pictures, preferably in a picture thread .

i for myself finished my wraith today , and promptly stripped the servo horn whilst trailing around the apartment

Swapped the burnt out 380 motorin my mini erevo for a new one. Whilst there noticed the servo casing has a few heat buckles in it, obviously not liking the truggy 2.2" wheels too much :(

I also managed to stow the contents of the kyosho sand master kit in the spare wheel well of my car, nicely solving how to get another new model home when the car boot is full to the brim

Went out for a drive after replacing a burnt-out servo and an improperly-secured servo saver:

It drove beautifully today; last time it screamed on the throttle due to the motor pinion being set too tight against the spur gear.

Having been kicked out of my hobby room on the 2nd floor, I cleared myself a space in the garage and set about building my new workbench only to find the slidey drawer on bearings has 2 x right side panels and no left grrrr

Nice to be back in the game though, have greatly missed tinkering with my rc's :)

Looks like it's been cut up by a worn aluminium gear.

Cut up by the steal part of a new thorp spur, driven by a 9t brushless motor!
